This was nice and simple, while being thorough enough. One tip I'd like to leave here for you and anyone else who might need it; when you're applying that Teflon tape (white tape), you want to wrap it around the threads in the same direction you'll be threading on the connecting fitting. So, for example, in most normal circumstances, when you're connecting a fitting in the "righty tighty" direction (clock wise), you also want to wrap that tape in the same direction over the threads. I noticed in pretty much every instance, you wrapped that tape in the counter clockwise direction, which was the reason why you had the tape peel off the threads when you were putting together the cold water adapter at the 8 minute mark. I'm pretty sure this isn't a very high pressure system, so you may not encounter any issues down the road, but in general, if that tape is not wrapped around threads correctly in plumbing applications, you can eventually get leaks.
thank you so much Rocky for the advice! God bless
Great tip and 1 a lot of people may not realize! 1 of the biggest reasons I love this community! Being able to share tips like that!
I wonder how many guys like myself thought this to themselves as they watched him applying the tape. lol
My brother-in-law came to install and had no instructions so I suggested CZcams and googled the APAC water system yours was the first one I looked at and he went step-by-step and got it installed and it works perfect thank you for your vide 👍🏼
Praise God. Glad we could be of help
I was able to install this water system after watching your video. Thank you!
Awesome video!! Huge help. Thank you!!!😊
I'm glad it was helpful!
Very slick installation
Thanks so much for checking us out!
How cute and helpful!
Praise God. Thank u
I'll bet the hardest part was installing the undercounter retainer nut on the spigot behind that deep SST sink!
Going under the sink is always so uncomfortable! Lol 🤣
@@jampackedfamilycountrylivi8022 Especially when you get to be my age (73). I have two of these systems to install at my 2 daughter's homes! But I'm "Mr. Fixit" for our family!
@Captain Gort o man....yea...that is horrible. This was my 4th time doing it. I'm sure it was very challenging to get down 2 of those completes. But good things ur family is blessed w someone who can fix things
Nice job! Love the kids!
Praise God. Thanks so much for checking us out
Thanks a lot buddy
You are very welcome. :) let us know how your project went!
Excellent guidance thank you for making very clear
thanks bro😀😀😀
Let us know how it works :)
Watching your video now for tutorials on how to install an Apex water system. Been holding off for awhile, wish me luck. 😅
U can do it!!!! Let us know how it went :)
How did the installation go Anthony?
Great video man! How's it so far? If you don't mind me asking, have you noticed any difference in your water bill? Thanks!
Hi AJ! Thanks so much for visiting us. My water bill has never been that high, but the water tests show the water being much cleaner and more alkaline. Water also taste so much better!
Do you hear a lot of water noise from your waste pipe? Great video. This will help me this evening for install
Sorry for the late response. How did the install go? It's not too noticeable...I thought in the beginning that water was leaking somewhere but then realized it was just the waste draining.
@@jampackedfamilycountrylivi8022 install went just as planned thankfully lol. I did hear some noise initially as well but now on a daily basis don’t ever hear it running since it’s most of the time full.
Water tastes great and install wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Your video definitely helped! Thanks for response
@@AB-mn2mq praise the Lord. I'm so glad everything went well.
Did you cut the whole in your countertop for the spout installation?
Hi Shonna. Yes, we did that initially when we installed the granite top and I didn't think of doing a video of it then. We had a hole saw bit for granite that we used and we would make sure to keep the granite wet while we were drilling.
@@jampackedfamilycountrylivi8022 thank you so much
I apologize if this has been asked already, but can you please provide the dimensions of the tank? I can't seem to find it anywhere and I feel like this is the first piece of information you would even need before deciding to purchase one. Lol. Thank you!
I Elle! I know what you mean. I think it was about 3 gallons. 11x11x15 inched is the tank size. It's a nice system and the water tastes really good!
@JAMpacked Family Country Living Thank you so much for the reply. Do you know if the tank can be placed on its side or does it have to be positioned upright?
@Elle A I'm not sure on that but I believe it is created to stand up...I guess you could try it? Let me know if it works that way
@@jampackedfamilycountrylivi8022 Will do!
you have problems with the TEFLON TAPE because you are placing the tape OVER the threads in the opposite direction. The tape have to lay down in the same direction you tighten the valve or whatever you are attaching to the pipe. This is clockwise . If the tape is laydown opposite to the thread (non clockwise) you will damage the tape most of the times.
Thanks for the advice
so I think I have to call a plumber, water isn't coming out of the main valve under the sink. I can't move the knob, I think it's too seized. I moved into an older place and they had pre existing system and I bought a new one and just swamped it over but nothing is coming out
Was there water coming out before? Changing the knobs is actually very quick but you will need to close the water to the house for a bit.
@@jampackedfamilycountrylivi8022 and I think the water before was coming out of the tank but the kitchen sink faucet seems to work. I am almost certain its the old needle valve setup. I am holding on on calling the plumber. going to shut the main water off and take off the old RO assembly and attach the new one that came with this one but that knob doesn't turn regardless, so I think I will replace that when I take it off when the main water gets shut out but need to wait for someone to show me on the outside building. its a condo.
@@FloridaBikeVlogger o man. I'm sorry about that. So the cold water is working but the water will not go to the filter?
I was not this calm when installing my ro system.
Lol. Thanks for stopping by and checking us out!
Do you still recommend this unit? Has it been reliable?
Yes...it is a nice unit...but it does take a lot of water to do.
Does it come with the tubes?
Yes...it comes w everything you need to install to an existing sink :)
Is it ok not completely tightening the filter housing unit? I can’t tighten it all the way, there is still a gap where I can see the thread
It might be...there is a small gap between...but I can't see how yours looks. Try turning on the water with a towel underneath and see if there is a leak if you can't tighten any more
I'll just call Pedro
It's actually very simple...just time consuming. 😅
Call your mom instead
