    Good video. That is a really long ways to shoot a 17 HMR. I am amazed that your groups were that good. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

      @bobcatforever3485 300 yards is really long for a 17. It was fun to see how it would do. We are happy you liked the video and thanks for watching. Kenny ASO

    You better put a heating pad on that shoulder from all that recoil.😂

      @user-qt6ob4yy6c She has a lot of recoil. It’s manageable. The 17 Mike has and the 22 mag Ruger precisions are some of the funniest guns to shoot. Thanks for watching and commenting. Kenny @ ASO

    the bolt on my 22 rpr likes to pop up when carrying it around on my back which is annoying lol. it will sometimes go back and cycle and waste a round

    Hey man love your vids. I just picked this gun up and wondering what the muzzle brake you’re using is? I can’t find one for a .17

    • @allseasonoutdoors1512
      @allseasonoutdoors1512  Před rokem

      @May-yc6ic. Thanks for watching and commenting. The brake on Mike’s .17 is from Primary Arms. It’s for a 22 caliber and is a tanker style. We have more videos on the Ruger Precision coming. I just picked one up in 22wmr.

    Kind of bipod does this guy need?

    • @allseasonoutdoors1512
      @allseasonoutdoors1512  Před 6 měsíci +1

      @mr.kenslifeshop4034. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate it. The bipod on this gun is a utg. We have several different ones. Mike has some Magpul and UTG’s. I run an Atlas BT-47 on all my rifles. It has a quick detach and I move it from rifle to rifle. The down side is it’s really expensive. I have a Harris style one as well. Choosing one depends on what you are wanting to use it for. If you just bench or prone shoot then any will work. If you are needing the bipod to cant or adjust quickly then some of this my no work for your application. Just pick one that will fit your needs. Thanks for commenting and if you have anymore questions please feel free to ask. Kenny@ASO

    Only ammo to use is Hornady. 17gr v max, tried every ammo on the market 99% suck at best. Hollow point are the worst. Noone has shot a .17 more than me and my buddy PERIOD. I know it will shoot 387yds 200yrd shots all day.

      @@allseasonoutdoors1512 .. thank you for getting back to me.. I want to use both guns for hunting.. I want to be able to shoot the 17 up to 300 yards and the 308 up to a 1,000 yards if that's at all realistic.. the scopes I have came with the guns and don't seem that good to me.. I would like a closer to a top of the line scope.. maybe not the most expensive, but not a cheap scope either.. I want to be towards the higher end..

    • @allseasonoutdoors1512
      @allseasonoutdoors1512  Před rokem +1

      jaun for the .308 I would suggest Arken Optics 5x25x56 or the Vortex Viper PST gen 2 5x25x50. The low side of a 5 power will still work well with closer shots in cover for hunting. The 25 power is more than enough to get you to the 1000 yrd mark. The .17 hmr is more tricky in my opinion, I run a 4x 16 power on mine. The close shots of squirrel hunting I like a 3 or 4 power low end, if 300 yards is the high end of what you want out of your rifle then a 9-16 high side power will do that easily. I chose the Primary Arms 4x16 because I wanted to see one in person. Only thing I wish it had was a zero stop feature. Hope this helps, please feel free to ask any time. mike @ all season outdoors.
