  • Why are comments off? scoobysworkshop... Natural muscle gain expectations Natty or not? How much muscle can you expect to gain naturally? How long will it take to look like Jeff Seid? Like Zyzz?
By the way folks, you will notice that I never made any claims about the natty-ness of anyone I showed pictures of, that is for a reason, I do not know if any of these people are natty or not. All I DO know from my experience is what percent of the male population is capable of achieving what they have achieved.
A lot of people have asked if person X is natty or person Y is natty - here is how YOU can answer your own question! Get a before and after photo, calculate the years between them, estimate the weight in each photo, and then figure out how much muscle gain per year that was. Now compare that to what my muscle gain calculator predicts. If they gained significantly more than my calculator predicts then they were most likely using steroids.

@@Franckbery he isn't natural. There are a lot of names you could've brought up that you might've had an arguement for but simeon panda is not one of them. As for the people saying look at "nfl players". The nfl has awful drug testing and most linebackers and running backs are on steroids (don't get angry at me just do the research yourself). Another thing you're missing is most linebackers/linemen carry over 15%. They may still have visible abs due to a good amount of muscle mass, but at this body fat percentage people look significantly bigger than people at sub-15% (again don't get mad just google it)

scooby1961 it's difficult to convince someone of the opposite they want to be true. It's a mature thing to look at the reality of rates of physical progress and work from there. A lot of this has to do with a lot of misinformation in the fitness media, it's been that way for a while. If a newbee sticks with it, providing they don't go to the dark side, their beliefs should align with reality. Anyway good work on your end bringing a reasonable approach to the masses.

the problem mostly comes when people's vanity is involved and they miss getting the grip of fundamentals in training. First and foremost - ENJOYMENT in every single training session. No easier way to stay motivated than that. If you don't pay attention to every single session but spend time looking in the mirror dreaming - you are not going anywhere. Chasing goals can make you easily lose sight of what's really in there for you. Did that mistake when I was younger, got frustrated from the "lack of noticable results", disregarded that I felt progressively better and better physically and it got really difficult for me to stick with training. Now my goals are to have some measure of strength and endurace I can sense in my body, and that's how I work my way through the training I do, I like variety and trying different things and exercise sets every now and then. I just taught myself to feel good about battering myself and that's how I slog.

    1. When you go to a pub, order a protein shake, not a pint of lager.
    2. Don't smoke weed every day, smoke protein powder every day.
    3. When a drug dealer asks you to buy pot. Ask him for pre-workout.

In your first year of training, you can expect to gain 20-25 pounds of muscle (Noob Gains) given your training is proper and your diet is in check. The next year you can expect to gain 10-15 pounds. Then after that it gets pretty slow, and it only decreases more each year. So within your first 2 years of working out, you can roughly gain 30-35 pounds of muscle. Which is about 70-80% of your natural potential. There are your expectations. It might not seem like alot when compared with these steroid abusing bodybuilders, but just imagine you right now, with about 40 pounds added to your frame. (Accomadating bone structure change, water retention, and slight fat gain). That's pretty impressive looking in person, don't compare yourself to social media, it will ruin you. If you start right now, look back on yourself in 2 years, I guarantee you're gonna see ALL KINDZ OF GAINZ.

20-25 pounds of puremuscle in the first year is pushing it... genetically superior’s gain that much.
The average Joe with hard work can look to gain 10-15 in the first year of pure muscle.
I think you were mistaken, you can gain 20-25 pounds of muscle+ fat on a bulk.

If you start eating properly, working properly, you will get some actual visible gains. Gains that will most people you know notice and you will here comments like "damn man, you changed so much" and stuff like that. In second year you will progress, but less, alot less. Even though you are working hard, harder than last year, even if you made some changes. In third year even less. THATS realistic shit. Yeah, you are probably gaining like 5-10 lbs of muscle, but you can barely see it by yourself. Dont have that "in 5 years I am gonna be huge", cause mate, you wont. Yeah, you can look like fit, you can have muscles, but you wont be fucking jeff seid, or zyzz or calum von moger. And this right here is why I shake my head every time somebody just assumes some jacked dude has to be on gear, or tells some poor kid that they won't get big within 2-3 years unless they are on something.
Scooby is assuming all these guys have to be on roids because he is comparing their transformations to his own, all the while ASSUMING that he has top 5% genetics. So of course, he assumes his genetics are top notch, so anybody who makes gains faster than him MUST be cheating right?
Well, what if Scooby has crap genetics? What if it took him 30 years to get his body because his genetics are in the bottom 50% or bottom 25%? What if this whole time, all those guys making those crazy gains in a few years are actually in the top 10% or top 25%?
And that's what I see everywhere. Whenever you ask a guy why he assumes somebody is on steroids, their answer is never based in fact, it is always something like "Anybody who has been lifting or bodybuilding for a while knows it" which translates to "I've been lifting for X years and couldn't do that so they must be cheating"
I mean, after all, who wants to admit they have crap genetics right? I bet if you ask ANY body builder, natty or otherwise what they think their genetics are, they will all say "I'm probably top 10% bruh" And how would they actually even know that? did they actually have their genetics tested? No, of course not. They just assume that because they got some decent size, they must have good genetics.
It's all assumptions based on what they want to be true.
Now I am not going to sit here and say all those guys are actually natural. I don't know. They may well all be on gear. All I am saying is that you can't know for sure based on just their size or the size they gained in X number of years. Especially since none of them were crazy huge like the IFBB pros.

No he didn't. In the pictures he used, he showed zyzz and jeff seid, then said that it's unrealistic to believe you can get that jacked in 2-3 years. Those dudes both have been known to use gear (especially zyzz) and the other guys are also massive and jacked as well. As a natural lifter, you can be huge, or you can be shredded. You can't be both like those guys are, (unless you are in the top 1% of elite muscle buiilders, and with a ridiculous program. If you think you can be like those guys in that amount of time or at all, you must have the genetics and program to achieve that body naturally when it is well known that zyzz didn't. I agree though that what he said about bicep gains in 6 months is definiitely incorrect, you can definitely make visible gains in your arms by 6 months of lifting.
