This entire episode was only about 4 people : Killer Bee, Naruto Itachi and Nagato. The four together could obliterate all the shinobi combined at this point.

That why he was reduced to a place where he has to use stuff like kotoamathsukami and izanami on them. And even in the end Itachi said himself that, I can't change you Sasuke but Naruto can. In that case, I don't think there's any need of a further discussion on that point when Itachi said it himself.

I wonder why not Nagato split his power to 3 people:
-To his owner body (yahiko): push/pull power and Absorbs jutsu (so he can't die easyly).
-to his support body: received power.
-to his attacker body: robot power, pull soul, and summoner.
Now Nagato only need to control his attacker body and when his attacker body die just received it by his support body, that was easy life man.
