- A lot of people don’t think about it or don’t know that dehumidifiers have filters. In fact if you don’t clean the filter eventually you’ll get a warning light saying that the filter is dirty and the machine won’t turn on. Luckily the fix is easy to pull out the filter put it in the sink wash it down put it back and you’re back in business. So next time you walk by a dehumidifier chances are if the filter is filthy. No time like the present go ahead and pull it out clean it and The machine a run a lot better with good airflow.
I was looking up new dehumidifier’s because mine was running almost 24 hours a day and came across this.
It looked as bad as this. Cleaned it and it’s finally stopped. Thank you.
Thank you for this. We moved into a house 6 months ago with this exact unit. I was hoping to find instructions that would help me find the air filter, but this was the exact unit, so it made it super easy. Thank you.
Internal is electrical. Be good to let the filter sit and completely dry before inserting it back into the unit. Just shaking the water off is not enough.
This is the video that helped me the most in my quest to find and clean my attic king dehumidifier filter. Thank you very much
thank you so much your video was short efficient to the point and super helpful!
Thank you! I hadn’t used mine as much as I have the last two years because of getting water in the basement and the light went on yesterday and I couldn’t find the filter. I found it with your video it was vertical. I had a feel for it and it was filthy, but like you, it washed up fine in the sink
After watching several videos I came across yours and found where the filter is, thank you very much!!
Thank you for this video. With the price hike starting today (Oct 1st 2022) in the UK this is good to know. 👍
Great video very helpful somebody told me that dehumidifiers had a filter and I didn’t even know it but I am very glad that this video was here and I was able to clean my filter
The filter indicator on most dehumidifiers are time-based and are there just to remind you to check the filter at certain intervals. The filter in my dehumidifier is usually clean when this light comes on.
Found and cleaned the filter on my Haier DE45EM-L. Thank you for this useful information.
Wow, !! Thanks; I just cleaned mine and it was moderately dirty. Many Thanks.
Thank you for telling me how to do this! I caught it just before the thing caught on fire!
Have a Haire Dehumidifier for 12 years never knew it had a filter, it still works but wouldn’t collect water, the filter was so plugged it looks new now
Wow thanks so much! Saved me from a damp space!
thank you.
my filter was so bad it stopped working. I learned my lesson.
Awesome! Short 'n sweet! Thanks!
Thank you! Found it! And man, was it caked!
Thank you, appreciate the instruction! :)
You just helped me, thanks 💃
👍
helpful information in an easy to follow video. thanks!
Thank you for this video, was very helpful🙏💞
Thank you
👍👍
My filter has NEVER appeared dirty and nothing rinses out of it. But the indicator light comes on every month or so and i go ahead and rinse the filter but there’s never ANY dust.
Very helpful video, thank you so much.
Thank you. I couldn't find it...
Thank you dude!!
Thanks!! so helpful!!
Thanks!!
The clean the filter light is on but the unit will not start
i have gocheer and there is no way to pull it's filter out
Thanks. I cleaned filter. emptied water. But it still keeps shutting off after 10 seconds. After 6 years I think it’s busted.
At least you gave it the good old college try, you got the obvious stuff.
Try adjusting the thermostat.
I’ve heard that filters in dehumidifiers in crawl spaces cause “issues” so you should not put filters in the machine. Doesn’t make sense to me but is it true?
Can a dirty dehumidifier filter affect breathing if the air quality is poor?
Yup
can you spray down the fins?
are there always 2 filters? i only found one :o
Thank you so much, I've been going nuts! cleaned it as you described, sparkling clean & the clean filter light went orr........but now the red light won't go out, says bucket full, but it's absolutely empty. Any ideas??
have you reset the unit from the powe cord? and press the filter button? you could also hold down the swutch in the unit right behind the bucket. if you hold it down 1-2 mins and the light/bucket full goes away you need a new bucket. if it doesnt there might be a sensor error.
I feel like I'm getting quest in red dead redemption online and the reward is a dry house
👍👍👍
I find the filters do little to nothing to prevent the coils from getting caked with crap, I had 2 whirlpool AccuDry dehumidifiers, one had a bad compressor, the other had a bad fan motor and good compressor, turned 2 broken units into 1 working unit, one ran fine with little maintenance till the compressor let loose, I ended up with it because of the bad compressor, the other also ran fine with zero maintenance until the first fan motor burned up, motor got replaced and the unit got a simple wipe down with a rag, second motor locked up and I ended up with it, washed the condenser with water and dish soap, replaced the fan, and put it back into service, my newer Whirlpool unit that replaced the AccuDry that's sitting in my scrap heap next to an old Fedders air conditioner with a dead P.O.S Retchy Precision compressor has a pathetic filter, it's so coarse it doesn't trap any debris, so I have to vacuum out the coils regularly, the surviving AccuDry will be going into retirement soon enough, I will be replacing it with a newer dehumidifier I got for a good price, as the new unit is better sized for the large basement it's in
That’s pretty cool that you were able to combine two units to make one that works.👍👍 my air conditioning window unit pulls air directly from the outside, there’s no filter at all. The inside of the coils get caked because there’s no filter, Very frustrating. The filter on the inside protects the outside of the coil which is easy to clean. I thought about putting some kind of filter to help prevent dirt from getting on the inside coil. Wonder why the manufacture didn’t put a filter on the outside of the unit??
@@livefree6878 Planned obsolescence, I find it easy enough to remove my window air conditioners in the off season, hit the coils with some Arctic King coil cleaner, and rinse the coil with a hose, I've got a unit from 1982 that I did that to, and something as simple as a marginally dirty filter turns it into a block of ice
Now you sink’s plumbing will need to get cleaned cause of all the dirt that just went in.
i love living in a molding ass basement
Thank you
