To be fair to Mickey, he's not completely wrong about the public eating up scandalous, juicy trials. That's a recurring element in the Scream franchise: the media's sensationalism and commodification of violence and tragedy. I mean, what was one of the most watched and talked about things in the 90s? The O.J. Simpson trial.
And how many people watched the circus that was the Depp/Heard trial? That was very entertaining.
And he won. My king.
Not the extra coming out with the plate doing the absolute most. I've seen this movie multiple times and never noticed him until you pointed it out.🤣🤣🤣
As strong as Sidney is, when Mickey kills Derek right in front of her, I think that's when she almost broke. It's more than likely what pushed her to go into hiding and not be close to anyone. The trauma and grief she went through. Great reaction video like always, guys. ❤

This was the first film in the franchise I ever watched. I saw it at a friend’s birthday party in high school, and I absolutely fell in love! Scream is hands down my favorite horror series, and Sidney is 💯 the G.O.A.T.

Mickey was actually a genuine psychopath, he didn't need any motive, he jus wanted to kill, and go to trial
Ghostface was actually on the stage with them during the rehearsal. You can actually see and hear his/her feet running off in the back right before she looks up and sees the other guy standing there.
Then that drama teacher blind as hell then. If Ghostface was there shouldn’t the teacher see him. If not he need glasses

You can also hear a door open and closing.
I feel like Mickey was there during the greek play scene. He slips away so fast right after running into her, and there’s still some smoke and lighting effects to kind of obscure it.
The opening scene for this was is my fav. The shear terror you'd be in to get attacked and noone noticing. Sad too knowing Maureen never found out if it was really her boyfriend or the real killer. Dying with no help and thought to be a joke. ☹️

27:04 Mickey's like "Why would anybody go back in that house?" and Sid's eyes kind of shift. Always felt like that was sort of a clue because how would Mickey know the detail of Derek going back into the house to confront the killer unless he was there. I mean I guess it goes without saying they talked about it and he found out that way, but still.
I also always thought it was hilarious how after Debbie Salt says that thing about "Well if the killer is copying Woodsboro, maybe the killer is FROM Woodsboro," after she says that, one of the other reporters sort of tilts her head and shakes her pen like she's about to write that down, like Debbie had just said something super smart. I laugh even just thinking about it.

I came here to say this. Tyson did not work his butt off to get cast in Stab 3 and get thrown from a balcony next to a gorgeous pool to be disrespected like this. 🤣
Mickey is not…completely wrong. People eat murder trails up and they sensationalize the crime and commodify the trauma and violence. That’s a reoccurring theme within the franchise (for the first few movies at least). It’s what the Netflix Dahmer series is doing.

I was living for Sidney's "don't fuck with me" bob in this movie. An icon! Sarah Michelle Gellar, Laurie Metcalf, and Courtney Cox are so mother in this.

I swear the stall scene always makes me laugh because I think of Ray with the glory hole in scary movie. I can't 😅 and side not may not have gotten a Rebecca Ghostface but we stan her in urban legend.
Literal chills every time I hear that music in Cicis scene
So for in this movie, it's pretty easy of a breakdown on which killer did what.
Ms. Loomis was only interested in Gale obviously since she was constantly on her heals lol and Sidney, but she couldn't risk Sidney seeing her till she was ready cause she'd recognize her like she did right away in the final Act. Gale because she literally wrote a book about her son and how she helped Sidney to kill her beloved angel of a son lol. Sidney also for obvious reason cause she did kill her son and her mom was what broke her family. She was the one that tried to kill Dewey as a collateral he was someone that Gale really cared for, like how Billy was someone she cared for. Randy was NEVER the target he didn't play any critical role in her son's death it was meant for Gale, hense, the statement, "Why are you even here Randy". But HE answered HER phone and then talked bad about her son so she got knife happy like she explained to Sidney.
Mickey was the actual copycat he was originally only killing those that had the same name of those that were actually killed in Woodsboro. He gave the tickets to Phil Steven's and Maureen. Also killed CiCi, obviously Hallie, Derek and the detectives due to convenience of being there with Sidney. He was only allowed to torment Sidney, which he did mentally, but she was to be left for Ms. Loomis to act on her revenge.
First time I caught the Freddy sweater on the closet door. Nice touch Wes Craven 😂
I think it was Mickey who wanted to do the copycat killing remember Nancy's main target was gale and Sidney the rest was collateral damage but since Nancy was clearly the brains I think she was smart enough to know that Gale would catch on. So she and mickey had to improvise. It would have been cool if mickey explained those complications during the psycho monologue
Sidney: First boyfriend: Murderer. Second boyfriend: Murdered. Third boyfriend: Cop.

i've heard jamie kennedy was talking to wes craven and was like "is randy really dead?" and wes confirmed it so jamie was like "alright", and grabbed a bottle of fake blood and just fucken sprayed himself down to really show randy was dead. thats why the fake blood looks so awful in that scene lmao.
21:55 Cici actually kept walking (you can see the strange cut when they show the OBZ house from afar) she stayed on the phone while she walked all the way out to the OBZ gates and then saw a guy (who has headphones on) there who she shouts at. Then she looks at the party... and the phone breaks up so she decides to walk back. Sadly they deleted this scene.
Cici also had a scene with Sister Lois and Sister Murphy where they tell her to back off when she asks if Sidney has pledged a Sorority yet. Since Cici was added to the reshot Sequel school talk scene... this original introductionscene went bye bye. She is in the background of like 3 scenes if you pay attention during the introductions of the sisters, Dewey and Cotton.

You asked about those two sorority girls being theater majors...since Sydney and friends attend a small liberal arts college in Ohio, I doubt it. I think Sydney is the theater major but in most small colleges like Windsor, these other ladies would probably major in something else and then try out for the university-wide play...it's rare to be able to fill a cast with all-majors at a small college. Also, one reason why Sydney is the "lead" despite being only a freshman is because she is a theater "major" unlike the other ladies. (Just thinking out loud...love your videos, guys!)

Such a fantastic sequel. It's almost better than the original. Everything is perfect. Mickey's motive is a perfect satire on how public morbid curiosity gives killers so much attention they don't deserve and even pity parties from some people. Great reaction video as always.

Female duo was supposed to be Scream VII but because of spyglass being spyglass and firing one of their lead actresses for only surface level things instead of doing a deep dive into why she posted her support for the victims of violence happening in another country. We would have gotten the epic and amazing female duo. Maybe it will still happen but I am sad that jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera wont be back. Im hoping theres a miracle but i dont know 😢😢😢

I've had this theory for as long as I can remember regarding the car scene.
I believe Mickey was knocked out originally, but when Sid hit the horn, I think it woke him up but pretended to still be knocked out. That way, the girls mostly Sidney were out of the car since he wasn't allowed to actually kill her and for her to be lure to the theater building for Ms. Loomis. Because he got out WAY too quickly after they did and then did like a syke trick, making them think they are safe just to turn around and kill Hallie to mess with Sid mentally and emotionally even more.
That sorority murder idea is good. You should write that (with different characters, of course).
During the rehearsal scene for the play Mickey was there for sure! After Sidney and ghostface bump into each other we can see him running off
Gale didn't portray people properly (or they don't think so, at least), but she still didn't change some names "to protect the innocent."

When I was a kid I had to chaperone my teen sister on her dates. While her and her bf would go see another movie, I would go by myself to watch Scream 2 in a separate theater. I watched it probably every Friday for a month straight. I was an 11 year old kid at the time and I loved it!!! Thanks for the memories, pumpkins!

This was actually during her time as Roseanne's sister Jackie because to be fair she's still playing Aunt Jackie to this day but Jackie could never. She is such a goofy wimpy character. I mean even when she was a cop, she was not tough. Her character from scream to absolutely would have dominated her character from Roseanne. She wouldn't have stood a snowmans chance in hell

The scenes with Gale and Dewey and Ghostface. Ghostface wasn't mickey at that time it was actually Mrs loomis. Mickey is the one in the car and Mrs loomis stayed behind to try and kill Gale and Dewey. You can hear a female grunt and scream when she fights Gale and stabs dewey
I think in the rehearsal it was Mickey (hence why he switched with Derek) and that’s why you see him run off. Unless that was a camera or editing mistake lol

It's his story that he was arrested, sentenced, and almost executed, but he should just sell that story and leave her be. It's still a good story.
I agree with Wes, 100% the opening of this film is better and smarter than the original and it has definitely aged better- now it could be interpreted as a meta commentary on how the public is generally oblivious to violence against people of color, particularly women and trans women, even when it's right under their noses. Jada is literally dying in front of these (mostly white) people and they're having too good a time to notice- and the folks who do, just think she's part of the entertainment. It's so clear that it would be almost too obvious a metaphor if it was done nowadays.

I loved it. In the first movie they kind of hinted that there would be family elements but it wasn't really confirmed because it was the first one because you know Sydney's mother was kind of the catalyst. But yeah when you get to the sequel then we get back to oh what did she cause and that involves Billy's mother who of course Blaine said for what happened to her son and then of course you guys have seen all of them. So it's no spoiler to say that three then brings in her brother that nobody knew about the half brother who was given up for adoption. Then in the next one it brings up the cousin who feels like in order to be the new Sydney. Her mom has to die too and don't get me started on the other families. Oh my god cuz you know Dewey's sister died in the first one and we met Randy's sister after he died in number three and I've actually had to start right now how people are related so I don't lose my s*** but you know the twins who I'm getting very attached to. They are apparently fathered by Joel the cameraman from two and I don't know if you ever caught this but in five when Sid's talking about her kids that we never got to see, they mentioned her husband Mark. That would be the cop from three and then of course in six you get the family of one of the other killers coming back for revenge
Jennifer Aniston must have a different show or movie she's known for, but the really freaky references are in the next movie.
