  • Today, the $100,000 Name That Tune Finals where either Scott Rose or Kirk Moore is going to win $100,000 in cash and prizes. This was the rerun from the USA Network who in my opinion reran game shows the right way. Unfortunately the opening and part of Melody Roulette was taped over years ago but the rest is all here so see who wins $100,000 in cash and prizes. This video is in memory of the late great Jim Lange who excitement and charisma was infectious especially during the finals. RIP Jim.
I do not own any rights to this show or music, this is uploaded for entertainment and nostalgic purposes.

That's a great show in tribute to Jim Lange. This episode was complete with the prize plugs and all that. Family Channel (now ABC Family) did cuts out the plugs and all of that due to time constraints during the early part of the 90's.

Yup, that was due to the Interactive play breaks hosted by Wink Martindale that took place. Including Trivial Pursuit

newstarcadefan Yep! I remember those "Trivial Pursuit" interactive play breaks in which Wink Martindale did that during one of those commercials.

Musicradio77 Television Network Yup then it went though as Boggle, Jumble and Shuffle with the interactive play breaks. Though admittedly I liked Jumble since it was based off of the hit news papers puzzler.

I agree that USA reran game shows the right way. They kept the contestant and fee plugs intact unlike GSN.

This aired originally on KYW in Philly the week of 12/3/84, I think the finals aired on Thursday of that week. These players won their Golden Medley during the home contest they did. This looks to be from March 30, 1989 on USA with the Thursday Night Fights promo saying it aired "tonight". The Masters in 1989 was 4/6-4/9, and the commercial said USA has been running it seven years. Tune bowed on USA on 1/2/89.

The fee plugs and $100K jackpoit prize plugs were edited out by Family CHannel originally to make time for the WInk Martindale Trivial Pursuit(later Boggle, Jumble, Shuffle) interactive 900 number games. Fee plugs were cut out of 1986 Crosswits and some pricing deals and fee plugs were cut out of 70s and 80s LMAD airings as well. In 1995, Face the Music aired, and even after the interactive shows were cancelled, the shows aired with fee plugs edited out(all the game show reruns FAM aired from 1993-96 had no end of show fee plugs), the questions seen coming out of the first two commercial breaks of Monty Hall's SPlit Second as seen in the US were always seen, however(the Canadian airings of Split Second as seen now on Game TV have the fee plugs, some Canada-centric, intact)
