From Early 1984, this is Lori Egan vs. Dan Mish. Small Melody Roulette wheel and funny reaction to the tune topics round. Enjoy. Another Name That Tune is next after this.
Yea. I called him after I saw this. I said "Why didn't you tell me you were on a game show!!" He said, "Honestly, forgot about it. I was before you were born. I remember that Lori woman was crazy."
I am very impressed to see this very rare early version of the Jim Lange version of NTT. I am wondering if there is a premiere episode floating around because I am sure it looks like this. This sure brought back many memories when I was growing up with the Family Channel. On a different note, it is sad that all the other four pilots were deleted off of CZcams, and thank goodness you still have the fifth one up of this show :-) .
Not to mention the buzzer sounds, the spin before each tune in round 1, and the clock in the Golden Medley. And also the amateurish mistakes in what they would and would not accept as an answer.
VERY rare and early episode! I remember the stage design changes that were implemented (the smaller wheel, the single Tune Topic, the background-less timer for the Golden Medley). I can see why they upgraded the set in later episodes! Very nice post-thank you so much!
Okay, how many times did they change the format for Melody Roulette in this version? Besides the pilot version, we have this small wheel (100 {4}, 200, 300, 400, 500) which was spun up to 7 times, then we had the normal size wheel (also 100 {4}, 200, 300, 400, 500) spun up to 5 times, and then we had the wheel (two each of 250, 500, 750, 1000) spun only once with up to 7 tunes played. Anything I'm missing?
In at least three games of the second month of the regular season, they used the small wheel (two each of 250, 500, 750, and 1000) spun only once with up to 7 tunes played.
Awful playing of this game, not just because of the nincompoopery of the contestants, but also because of the inconsistent application of the rules. I am still wondering why they accepted “Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme” for “Scarborough Fair.” It’s not an alternative title, and the clue clearly stated they were looking for the name of the song, not the lyrics.
No creepy Tune Topics sounds? This show must have the first version of the wheel they would use until the money change. Tune Topics? Well, it wasn't the 20 second clock and not quite the five option picker either.
DAMN!!! Lori is not only obnoxious; she's vicious.
Dan Mish! That's my dad!!!!! Holy Shit he never told me he was on a game show!!
I saw that episode
Did u ask after u saw that?
Yea. I called him after I saw this. I said "Why didn't you tell me you were on a game show!!" He said, "Honestly, forgot about it. I was before you were born. I remember that Lori woman was crazy."
I guess you've thrown that "being patient" card out the window...

They didn't go to a commercial after tune topics? Weird! This is a weird episode.
Mollie i wanna say that i'm proud of u that your dad was on a game show
These tunes are so time sensitive.
What I didn't like about this episode is that after Lori played the Golden Medley, they didn't identify all the tunes she passed on.
Three of them were: If You Could Read My Mind, I Got Plenty O' Nuttin', and My Ship, but I don't recognize the last one.
The one i watched on this channel is. I don't have it as anything else.
Tune four in Melody Roulette was missed in the GOlden Medley in a similar fashion this season of Tune.
Mollie was the episode u have full
I have a cat named Coconut
she was so beautiful 🐈🐈🐈🐈
It’s kind of funny when they thought one of the tunes was You Are My Sunshine when the answer was incorrect. Don’t you agree?
Was this another pilot episode
this episode was cut without the opening and it was cut early from the credits. Sorry.
lori egan jumped out of her shoes
Why we didn't get to see that ?
josh, she doesnt have the episode. chill out. Im sorry about my busy work schedule.
I would have taken the ending of this episode really hard given how it ended.
Josh, be patient
this episode was cut. sorry
This has early installment weirdness all over it--they moved playing Tune Topics to the left side of the stage shortly after this.
Not to mention the buzzer sounds, the spin before each tune in round 1, and the clock in the Golden Medley. And also the amateurish mistakes in what they would and would not accept as an answer.
Does somebody knows the song at 14:24??? (Song no.4) I recognised only tune no.6 (wave)
Hili Levin I think that #3 was "Leaving on a Jet Plane", but #4 is one of those songs that I've heard a hundred times but I can't think of the name.
Found it!! It's "I Got Plenty O' Nothing"
That was a Very Tough Golden Medley
I agree with you on that. Much more difficult than many of the other winning contestants on the show were given.
whats the request?

After seeing displays of attitude, I wanted Dan to win.
Josh, I cant make this longer. This is the way i got this episode. its 1997 and not 1998.
Why does Lori gotta look so mean? Lol
Molly did u say that was your dad
Mollie that's your dad
and I think the main theme music was slightly different than in later episodes, as well.
I do not remember the podium looking like that for Golden Melody. I guess that is why they got rid of ot because they already have a clock. LOL.
This was the only episode of the series in which that particular podium was used for the Golden Medley.
Technically it’s not a podium. A podium is like a dais.

no. sorry

Is this the pilot or an actual show.
Third pilot.
