Listen, I don’t really understand how Wish still exists. Does anyone actually buy stuff from there? I feel like Alibaba and Temu are better deal usually, and both are equally likely to be rip-offs. I guess it might honestly be okay compared to the way Amazon is getting. I digress. We built a gaming setup using only products from Wish. How bad could it be?

FYI, the "F" Energy Rating is the same as the "A+" Energy Rating was pre-March 2021, when the regulations were changed. It's virtually impossible to find A+ (and above) rated devices anymore.
Well A+ isnt allowed to be used anymore except für tumbledryers...
@@MarcraM yeah I forget what the little details are, I've just noticed that a lot of manufacturers outside of the EU still go for the old "A+" rating (and even still advertise it as such on Amazon for example) only for items to get official "F" ratings now, which obviously sounds a lot worse.
Fun anecdote: I bought an OLED display at the end of 2020 and my parents bought the exact same model a few months later after I was constantly praising it. Mine had an A+ (?) rating and when my parents bought it, it was much, much worse rated (IIRC F).
However, the whole rating change was definitely needed, because the number of pluses on some appliances was getting ridiculous (weren‘t there some refrigerators with an A++++ rating?).
@@tombrauey "A+++" was the highest before and it caps out as just "A" now for most things. And yeah, it's more transparent than before, a needed change thanks to the energy crisis.
Also the sticker gets put straight on the screen on for store display demo
I'm shocked that Linus actually tried the gamer supplement pills. I wouldn't have done it even for a million bucks because it's from Wish.
The fact that they were joking about the seller "undercutting the FDA" reminded me of a story where people got sick in droves and people even died, but when the FDA wanted to step in the supplement industry went into full campaign mode saying "the FDA will take away your supplements, contact your local representative today!" and it worked. As I understand it the market is still unregulated meaning there's basically no one ensuring you're not putting literal poison in your body.
It's wild man.
Yeah, you're gambling if they're just harmless placebos or some kind of leftover soviet meth.
Didn't he take a cheeto?
i mean they didn't record him swallowing. He could have spit it out. I would have.
@@tralphstreet He ate a Cheeto and the pill. The pill was consumed when he threw it up in the air and caught it in his mouth.

This is easily my favorite video the team has put out in the past 6 months. The sick burns and satire made my workday so much better.
the entire usb-c cable bit absolutely broke me lmao
Btw on the monitor label, the really bad rating is pretty normal - before hand there were tons of A+, A++, ... categories after the original rating system became pretty much irrelevant due to how energy efficient stuff got, so there was a recounting and now the A category is pretty much empty and there are very few items in B and C. The most efficient I've seen a monitor is D and a TV on E
also that monitor was probably a/a+ rated before the changes
Ironically, the rating system is pretty much as irrelevant as it became before the change.
Just bought a new freezer. The saving potential from best to worst rated is probably like 20 bucks a year but the lowest rated, chinesium el-cheapo freezer sets you back like 5000 bucks less than the "good" one.
The freezer I just threw out was probably going on 15 years... Still faaaaar away from the required 50 year lifespan to make back the price difference through energy savings.
The power rating measure the monitor at its full brightness with all the setting cranked to max. So if you do some tweaking you can get better power management
Yeah, it says 19 kWh/1000 H, 0,019Kwh of energy y 1 h or a mean of 19 W of power, it's low
@@RetiredRhetoricalWarhorse the energy rating is not designed to improve the experience of a single customer, it may not save you a lot of money but when you multiply those energy savings by 1billion people it becomes a huge amount of energy and stress put on the power grid. A lot of customers will prefer and buy higher rated products (even if they can’t notice the difference), so that encourages companies to spend more time and effort optimizing their products to be more power efficient. Also power efficiencies often turn into new product segments, wireless mice/earbuds basically wouldn’t exist if work wasn’t done to improve power efficiency.

The sticker on the energy rating should be used if the monitor is on display, so the consumers can see (it is stuck on the monitor itself).
We have that in Brazil and it is pretty common so you can choose based on that when you are phisically browsing the store
Yup
I remember some sticker literally saying that it's a felony for a store to remove it before purchase. I don't remember which it is, but it's totally there. Like, some stickers must be on the product until it's bought and removed from store, period.
Displays are always rated badly on EU energy ratings. It is also very for electronics to be above a D
Man, they should do a Scrapyard wars thing where they get a budget and draw a retailer from a hat, like Wish/Aliexpress/Temu etc and try and build the best crap rig

@@fr3dv103hate from Edmonton
Beat me to it. Yeah they just ripped off a time zone map from the internet and changed the colors. And the cities are generally how time zones are referenced nowadays as MST, CDT, etc aren’t accurate enough most of the time.
I took one glance at it when they zoomed in on the US and went... "those are time zones."
If they really think that much of the eastern US will be underwater due to climate change they’re too far gone to save.
As member of EU and ex retail worker. The sticker is for shop use, we used to stick it on frame of TV/Monitor. Basically it has to be visible all the time for customers to see, Its law and in case of inspection you can get fined if there is missing one.
Also its mandatory for washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, fridges etc.
And F is not as bad as it looks, the rating was updated a few years ago because the old rating was useless with most appliances being A+++ so they lowered all the values and only very efficient stuff gets a high rating.
F is the old A+.
In the US, energy labeling was mandated by the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975
@@lucasrem I guess everything from the past 30+ years is A++++++ then

This is a top notch episode, excellent editing and the co-host was clever AF and quick on his feet to fire back. Loved it, hilarious!
The sticker with energy rating, for the monitor, is for retail display. I worked in retail selling TVs and monitors, those came in every box and we had to put them on the TV/Monitor. Either by sticking them to the bezel, as they used to have a thin strip of paper that exposed only part of the adhesive side or in acrylic stands together with specs. Some people stuck them full on the screen, but we don't talk about them too much.
Whoever edited this video in particular, deserves a promotion. I was HOWLING at the Linus slip on the mat meme. Absolute genius.

Weird knowledge: The little "mobile gaming finger gloves" things are actually kind of popular for mobile rhythm games. Lotta rapid tapping and if you're on a phone or tablet it helps prevent getting a ton of fingerprints all over.
Yeah I use mine daily. Buy in a 30 pack for when I lose them
I feel like I'm creeping towards a slippery slope here but I'm gonna ask anyway.
Any game examples? Sounds kinda fun
@@Redbikemaster Tons out there, but some big/known ones I really liked include: Muse Dash, Cytus/Cytus 2, and Arcaea.

I would love to see a comparison between a wish item vs an older item from a reputable brand. How far in the past do we have to go until the wish mouse/keyboard/screen is better?
This needs way more upvotes. That would actually be interesting to see. The Wish/AliExpress series is always some of my favorite content and that'd be a nice little mix up
that keyboard isnt that bad, i'm typing on one right now and it's nice to type on (like all mechanical kbs) and has per-key lighting

I will say, Philips' lighting stuff has one thing that greatly warrants their cost a lot of the time;
They actually have excellent color reproduction and consistency across the product lineup.
The additional energy label with the monitor is for stores that put the product on display, they need to put the sticker on the screen to show the energy rating.
I love when David is filming, he always interjects with the best comments! We need him more on camera too 😁
I actually purchased that mouse here in India as my first gaming mouse and it's pretty much working till date after 4 years with good dpi and battery back up, charges up in around 2-3 hours and goes on for around 12 hours without RGB and 8 hours approx with RGB. Only after I gave that mouse to my sister after 2 years of personal usage the left click is bit a miss half of the times. Yeah it's a dongle based mouse without Bluetooth connectivity and had pretty strong connection. Micro usb charge and an inbuilt usb dongle holder and a sick all white Design (same as in the video here but in shades of white & grey) all at around $8 which is really good 👍
18:20 maybe next time instead of pixelated, you can add sad Linus over shirtless Linus
The card holder on the keyboard is most likely for gaming and internet cafes where you have an account card for login and payments
Do you mean a card reader?
I kind of like the idea of those USB heated gloves. I mean, I live in Finland in 80-100 year old wooden house, and it gets pretty chilly. I now use one of those lizard lamps to warm up my fingers 😂
Tried wrist warmers, then fingerless gloves, then full gloves, tried a heating pad under the keyboard... The lizard lamp is the first one that actually works. Highly recommended, but make double sure that the light fixture can take the heat. These days most of them are made for LED or low wattage bulbs.
Something tells me those heated gloves and a hundred year old wooden house wouldn't exactly be a match, pardon the pun, made in heaven.
Why buy heated gloves when you can buy an Intel 14900K and heat your entire house?
Should look in to an infrared heater.warms you, but not so much the stuff it's not directed at. or, if ascetics don't matter, just put your computer on the desk with the back pointing toward your keyboard/mouse.
The heated gloves powered by a large power bank would be perfect while attending an American football game on a cold snowy day.
9:12 it's for the shops, when they display the monitor the shop put the stiker in the screen, with that the consumer can see the energy ratings, the size, the consumtion of energy and in the QR you can see all the extra info in more details. All the big electronics have that sticker with the product.
Funniest themed build video in a while. I think Adam is hitting his stride, and Linus and his on screen chemistry seems to be working better than in older videos. That or I’m just getting used to it 😂
these finger gloves are for mobile rhythm games such as Arcea to reduce friction and actually quite useful
I remember picking up some fun little toys and gimmicks from Whish early in its lifespan. but nothing over 10$. I'm honestly shocked af how expensive these items are! Quality and value aside, I did not expect to see anything priced at that level
its cause theyre in loads of debt and their revenue has dropped like a shit ton since 2018.
I thought the same thing. Some little gimmicks were okay, but for 70$ you can get a very decent keyboard mouse combo not from wish.
Ik I can find stuff cheaper even on Amazon
For real! I saw a good amount of on brand mech keyboards & mice on Newegg for only $25-$50 and 120hz displays for like $100, how is wish this expensive for all this e waste 😂
@@hythere I think it's a brand-identity thing and videos like these kind of play into it. Wish is manifested as "Get stuff very cheap, quality aside" platform and I assume a lot of people just look for stuff on Wish without questioning if its actually the cheapest and best deal, simply because they assume nobody is going to do it cheaper than Wish.
THE LINUS SLIP MAT MEME SENT ME FURTHER INTO ORBIT THAN LINUS. OMG 10/10 EDITOR
I have this mouse cable holder and it's great, the only change I made was taping the cord with black tape in certain places so it's nice and flat. But it does its job and was cheap. I was thinking of buying one from razer or something but now I'm happy I didn't, I can't imagine it doing the job any better and it was many times more expensive.
German here, those Energy Rating stickers come with everything, on bigger Appliances ( fridge/washingmashine) they are applied to the Item, Those have to be displayed on the Displaymodel in retail stores. This is the solution manufactures came up with for it.
i got the mouse as part of a bundle (exact same keyboard and mouse but both were wireless) as a christmas present and it really did last half a year. but the bettery lasts just about as long as the buttons which wore out very fast
8:40 This seems to be the new Energy rating table, where A+ is now around E, so F was A which is not that bad for screens.
So... are there any monitors actually had an A rating? Or was it reserved for future monitor technologies from space aliens after we invented cold fusion?

Adam was super funny this video. I always love a bit of banter and trolling between the hosts
The sticker is for store display. Normally all electronics (not portable stuff) in the eu comes with it.

Bro the gamer controller themed carpet non-slip area rug door mat for living room bedroom soft anti-slip floor carpet is an excellent product that works exactly as advertised. 14:26 that australian joke was 10/10
The Monitor energy efficiency sticker is probably for display units.
In tech stores over here in Germany, display unit monitors and tv's (and other electronical devices like fridges, washing machines, etc) have their energy rating stickered onto them with a similar looking and sized sticker.
Same in Brazil, we see these in display units in stores as we adopted the EU rating system under the 'selo Procel', but normally this comes in the box with the sticker already applied in the product. The last thing I remember buying was my Panasonic fridge and I bought it online and it came with the sticker already applied. Perhaps wish (or more realistically, the factory in China) simply didn't bother putting the sticker :D

9:14 The stricker is for in strore display, stores put those right on the screen so you can easily compare.
EU explanation (I think):
The sticker is for stores if they use that unboxed on the showroom. Since the device is no longer in the box at that point retailers are required to put the sticker on the device or near the device so that the consumer is informed about the efficiency rating of that device.
I think, I don't work for an electronics retailer, but every TV and Monitor and whatnot they show unboxed has the efficiency rating somewhere on it or at least near it.

The little keychain controller isn't a bad thing sorta. It's nice with old retro emulation, like nes, gb, etc. Not very big, easily carried, etc. I use to have one and used with phone to play emulators as on screen controls are just meh. But that was before I just ended up getting a 8Bitdo Zero 2 and then their micro as it's basically the zero 2 but also with r2/l2 instead of just r1/l1 buttons. They are a bit bigger but they're tons better and I use them to play all the way up to ps1 emulation instead of being stuck with lowers due to lack of good way to us shoulder buttons/lack of l2/r2.
The 8bitdo micro might be a bit bigger but the additional buttons and being well a 8bitdo it's tons better. Even so, it's still easily carried around without taking up much space.

9:14 that sticker is for exposing in stores. when someone enters in an electronics store and wants to see that "energy consumption rate sh*t", the customer service guy doesnt need to bring the box from the back, he just puts that sticker on the edge of the monitor.
The EU Energy Rating sticker is for stores because they are required to show this information. Usually they have one TV or monitor which is not turned on and has this glued to the panel.
The boxes are normally hidden in a shelf under the display or locked behind glass so the information is sometimes not visible to the customer without the sticker
So it is included in every package and thrown away by 99% of the customers 😅😂
if you do a google image search for „eu energy rating tv store“ you should find some images where the sticker is glued to a tv/monitor in a store which displays the tv/monitor
of course this also applies to washing machines, fridges, … (not only tvs and monitors)
Months ago Amazons AMK69X was planned and the plan fully worked, strongest rise since the bears started and surely they have their move in that given the size of this brand

To be fair, the EU energy rating was reworked a few years ago. Every previous A+ (best rating) device is now F on the new rating. As far as i know there isn't a single device on the market which is category A on the new, reworked scale. So F isn't too bad, really.
