  • This is the brand new 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat! Let's check it out!
Today we take a look at the brand new US spec 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat. This is a highly spec'd Ranger with a ton of options!
The 2.3L 4 cylinder EcoBoost engine packs a surprising punch and was excellent to drive. It had more than enough power to get up and go, which is a must in any truck. Smooth power delivery from the twin scroll turbo and 10 speed automatic transmission makes the 2019 Ford Ranger drive very smooth and responsive.
The exterior style of the new 2019 Ford Ranger looks great! Sleek and muscular lines give it a bold look that falls nicely in the 2019 Ford line up of vehicles. The interior had nice leather accents and quality feeling components. Very easy to use with minimal buttons, touch screen infotainment screen and nice amenities.
This Lariat has a lot of options as well, like 360 parking sensors, back up camera, Bang & Olufson audio system, Trailer Assist, Terrain Select, Trail Control, Metal Bed Liner, Heated Leather Seats, LED lights and much more!
Having the EcoBoost engine actually produces class leading engine torque and outstanding towing capacities of 7,500 pounds!
I was very impressed with the smooth on road capabilities with the new 2019 Ford Ranger Lariat. It was comfortable on the street with a soft suspension, had a tight turning radius and was very nice for a daily driver.
The off road capabilities of the 2019 Ranger are definitely there. The Trail Control in the 2019 Ford Ranger is basically a cruise control system for off-roading. It will monitor the brakes and acceleration from 0-20 mph and keep the vehicle going one speed no matter the terrain. You can set it to 1mph, and the truck will slowly crawl over any off-road obstacle.
The new Ranger also features various terrain selections for even more capabilities. The FX-4 Package is something to add when buying the new 2019 Ford Ranger since it gives you the under vehicle skid plates, 4x4 system, Trail Control, Terrain Select, Locking Rear Differential and upgraded shocks!
I definitely enjoyed driving the new 2019 Ford Ranger and was impressed with what it has to offer. If you are looking for a new Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon or Honda Ridgeline. Definitely put the new Ranger on your list! It was great!
Huge thank you to Mooresville Ford! They have a huge selection of the brand new Ford line up!

In Asia pacific, Philippines in particular, a top of the line Ranger Wildtrak 4x4 10 spd-AT w/ 2.0L bi-turbo diesel having 213hp and 500n-m cost around $ 33.5K if converted from Peso. It has the same features and tech except for the rear disc brakes and single leaf spring in the Lariat.

xBMacLeod I think the reason for that is that the Ranger is the only Ford truck available in Europe, so it hat to be adjusted to fulfill the European people's expectations in both a work truck and an everyday SUV-like vehicle.

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  Před 3 lety +1

Basically it's the load transfer of a vehicle towards the outside of a turn. When a vehicle is fitted with a suspension package, it works to keep the wheels or tracks in contact with the road, providing grip for the driver of the vehicle to control its direction. You feel more body roll in trucks and SUV's and less in sportscars.

They have several combinations so you can order what works for you. I ordered a 4x2 with plenty of option for less than 33k. I'm glad there is an ever increasing number of competition. This has lead to Toyota adding power seats to the 2020 Tacoma. Competition is good for a of us. the brakes had a bad "shimmy" when you applied the brakes. one or more (not given the best info) rotors had to be turned/trued. Most of the shimmy gone, but I still feel some. At take off you can feel a "shudder", vibration (whatever), but it balances out after you get going. The back seat backrest wont latch so it flops around some when you apply the brakes. The seats are embarrassing, but I work at a plant that manufactures seats for the automotive industry so I am picky. These seats, nor most I have seen in videos and pictures would not make it out of our plant. The foam doesnt fill out the leather well, at work we tried to massage it into place but it is still baggy, and wrinkled looking.
I dont really use lane departure, I find it annoying, but compared to my last truck it doesnt alert you much. Very slight notice in the steering wheel. My last truck you could feel it in the wheel, and the seat would rumble.
on the positive side, it looks awesome! For a small truck it rides well, and I am coming out of full sized pick ups, so that is saying a lot. Handles very well, and that little 4 banger will pick the truck up and move it quick. For the price I think they could have done more inside. Maybe more soft touch on the doors? Aside from that and the seats I love the interior of my Lariat. The adaptive cruise control rocks. I use cruise control a lot, and get annoyed when I have to come out of it for traffic. This thing takes care of that. Even switched lanes to much slower traffic to see what it would do. It keeps distance, and will slow you down quickly lol.
I should note here that I did drive 2 new Rangers. the first one was an XLT, and had none of the problems listed above. The seats were cloth and had good fit. I also drove everything else in its class because I wanted to get out of full sized pick ups. In my opinion, nothing compared to the Ranger (well, at least the first Ranger I drove lol)

@@BrosFOURRSpeed No that's not true. The back seat has allot more room. Cabin height is superior on the Ranger. Plus the seats in the front are best in class. By far. I've driven both and know. Plus Ranger has more adjustment to seat with height adjustment. In the toy you sit lower to the floor/legs straight out. Not very comfy for ALLOT of people. Plus no height adjustment on the Tacoma which exacerbates the problem. Interior wise, The ranger probably has the best seats in class. Followed by the Colorado with the Tacoma coming in dead last. But that lower cabin is a toyota trademark. Its been like that for decades with Toyota. If you want room, its the worst choice. Especially if your a tall person.

I test drove the Tacoma and just 2 days ago, I drove this new Ranger and I would take the Ranger in a heartbeat. I really wanted a Tacoma for its known build quality and retained value but it's just not as good as everyone thinks. I kept hitting my head on the ceiling and it's weird to sit on the floor while doing it. The engine is on the noisy side when merging into highway traffic and the transmission was reluctant to downshift until you really got into the pedal. The rear seat movements of flipping, folding and headrest removal is BS. The Tacoma is a nice truck but it's nowhere as good as it should be.
The Ranger was very eager to move and had a very comfortable ride and interior. Plenty of headroom and elbow space. The engine and transmission are supremely calibrated and I just couldn't get over how quick the ranger picked up speed without the need to downshift much at all. The Ranger will hold my quad and some fuel cans were as the Tacoma would be maxed out.
I am just not going to give up a great engine/transmission pkg, ride quality, comfort and interior ergonomics for the quality and resale value of a Tacoma.

Pretty much my take on this too. I test drove all of them and the toyota was the worst of the bunch. The Frontier was comfortable and had plenty of get up and go with the V6 but lacking in everything else. The GM twins are nice. I really didn't care for the dash layout but the rest was pretty good.
The Ranger was the last I checked out and to me is the best of the bunch.
Going to wait a bit until the 2020 model year though for some incentives to come along. I am also praying the push button start gets added to the XLT for 2020.

All the early reports I'm hearing is around 21 MPG's. It does not matter if you drive allot of Hwy either. Not thinking this motor will offer much more then the VVT V6 GM offers. Except maybe a little more lower end torque. But throttle response is almost the same. Diesel would should have been also offered as an option. You can only do so much out a gas motor/truck for MPG's. Ecoboost will suck gas when under boost.

$45,500 for a mid sized truck? That's a bit high whereas you can upgrade to a full-size truck for around $30k-$35k (depending on options and stealership pricing)
I want a new Ranger, but I want mine to basically be custom built, because the stealerships don't have it in either the color I want or with the options and color I want...

There wasn't much leg room in back with the front seat all the way back. Overall this is a nice truck. Definitely nicer than the Tacoma.

I was leaving the dealership, and saw a black fx4, looked real nice, the wheels looked almost like black chrome, driving beside it, was just a bit lower than my f150, thought that it looked smaller than a tacoma, or even a ridgeline, would consider a truck like that, would be a lot easier to park some places in the city, and probably capable of doing most of the things I ask of my F150. A midsize is not about being cheaper or better fuel economy, but for people that dont need a full size truck, but want a truck.

Sorry Ford, stopped to see the new Ranger yesterday, aside from the better tech, I find all the center console buttons in the way, I'm positive they would get damaged easily under normal use, just my opinion, keep in mind I love Ford vehicles, just not too crazy about this one.
