Stephanie, your work is amazing! I often turn to your CZcams tutorials for baking steps, and my results have always been successful so far. Thank you so much!
I am just about to become 80years of age and tried this recipe. You made it so simple to follow the directions and today I tried baking as a frustrated wannabee baker, guess what? They were delicious and made me proud to look at them let alone taste them, I feel almost proud of myself except your instruction must take the credit. Next? well I just have to try making your recipe for Puff Pastry. Thanks so much for being there.
Thank you for always posting the best recipe videos so easy to follow your awesome. Looking forward to all the great recipes you make this year. Much appreciated.
Made this with ripe mangoes, because i am in a tropical country and they are abundant here. It's delicious. You are my inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge about baking and for all the awesome recipes. More power.
Stephanie, you are by far my favorite CZcams baker! I love all the goodies you bake and there’s just something about you that makes me want to come and hang out with you in your kitchen and talk with you while you’re baking 😁
This was the best recipe to follow, loved it so much and my valentine enjoyed it as well. Your way of explaining and going step by step was flawless!!!
They look great! I've tried several puff pastry recipes including hers. With that said there is a much simpler version that uses frozen butter and a cheese grater. It's quick, easy and yields almost the same result without all folding.
I just finished baking me turnovers. I made them a little small at first in case they didn't turn out well I won't waste filling. But they turned out beautiful. I filled with my own cherry pie filling. I know now how to make pastry flakey dough!! Thank you so much for your recipes. I watch your videos all the time over and over. 😊😊😊😊😊
Ooooooooo! I expected this to look hard. It doesn’t look extremely hard. I have a potluck at my church on Sunday and this will really blow them away, because I’m 10. Lol.
Apple turnovers aka appelflappen is very popular in the Netherlands. It's a bit different though: - We don't cook the apple (just cut small pieces add sugar and cinnamon, raisins optional) - Use fork to press down the sides (very secure and creates nice look)' - Wet the top of the apple turnover and dip into sugar I use premade puff pastry and it takes me 5 mins from cutting the apples to putting them in the oven.
Looks absolutely delicious and quite easy to make! You know...if you add raisins to the mix and fill the turnovers with whipped cream (after they have cooled down of course) you got yourself a Dutch delicacy. Thank you for this wonderful video, Stephanie!
I made these Apple Turnovers using my Kissable apples and they turned out great, both in look (golden pastry and pink apple stuffing inside) as well as taste. The only thing I found hard is working out the size from rolled pastry, so mine became slightly smaller than yours. Yours look very tidy i must say.
Wow Am ur new follower from India As it’s a very new recipe here so u can imagine how different it is when I prepare this dish...ThanQ very much for this yummy dish
U are d best best on u tube taking time to xplain everything to us all d rest of dem are a joker in a pack of card your work is clean tidy and neat keep it up please do for me a sugarfree cake any flavour
Hi Stephanie I am a new subscriber to your channel. I love to bake. You are very precise in your recipes. Do you have a recipe for chocolate pound cake? Thanks for the videos.
When I'm cutting a portion from the larger blitz puff pastry block, I'll presumably need to trim it before getting exactly 225g for the turnovers. Can any trimmings be scrunched together and re-rolled?
I’d recommend not to! There are layers in puff pastry which creates that flakey, irresistible texture! If you scrunch it together, it ruins the perfect layers, which may or may not ruin your turnovers.
You need about 1 pound (450 grams) of apples. Depending on size that would be about 2 to 3 large apples. I used Granny Smith apples but you could use any type of firm textured apple that doesn't turn mushy when cooked. www.joyofbaking.com/PiesAndTarts/AppleTurnovers.html
Could you cut them into squares in large amounts, freeze, and take out the squares you need so you don't have waste time cutting them and putting them in the fridge?
If the butter gets too warm in the puff pastry this can happen. Always chill the puff pastry before you bake it as you want the butter in the puff to be cold before it goes into the oven. Also, if the oven temperature is too low this can happen. You could buy a free standing oven thermometer to double check your oven's calibration.
thanks so much for your reply. After putting the turnover together I put it straight into the oven vs. chilling it, then oven. That's the step I missed. THANK YOU! I will try again!
Yes that’s fine to use! But it’ll create a more intense, and slightly “bitter” flavour, with a darker colour- so a recommendation would be to add half dark brown, and half white sugar!
Stephanie, your work is amazing! I often turn to your CZcams tutorials for baking steps, and my results have always been successful so far. Thank you so much!

Hi Stephanie I am a new subscriber to your channel. I love to bake. You are very precise in your recipes. Do you have a recipe for chocolate pound cake? Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for subscribing! Yes we have a chocolate pound cake, here it is: czcams.com/video/gI8ShUTkJf8/video.html

Can you do a passionfruit themed desert please?

How many apples? And what kind of apples do you recommend for me?

Joy of Baking Thank you! :)
I love granny smith apples.
I got a sunflower calendar for 2018.
These are really nice also , when eaten chilled with extra thick , thickened cream , pumped into them through the slits . Australian version .
Oh, yeah!!
Thank you my Dear
Hello love it, but can I make it with another fruit too ? I do love apple I need to do for kids too thanks
Yes, you could use other fillings.
Raisins and currents are great additions!
Thanks very much for sharing your recipes, I like to return and
visit your great channel all the time, regards!!
What kind of pot and what size it’s you are using. Thank you
Could you cut them into squares in large amounts, freeze, and take out the squares you need so you don't have waste time cutting them and putting them in the fridge?
Well yeah you could do that, but you still need to thaw them, and slightly roll it. Though this may take up more space
Did u put oil
yummm
Can someone please get her on great British bake off to slay everyone. I want to see her compete!
I am from. India. It seems possible, so I will try it today using my Bosch oven. Thanks for sharing
I did this recipe today and when I baked my turnovers in the oven, they were baking in a pool of butter. Please advise me on what went wrong? Thanks
If the butter gets too warm in the puff pastry this can happen. Always chill the puff pastry before you bake it as you want the butter in the puff to be cold before it goes into the oven. I only have dark brown sugar
Is that okay to use ?
Yes, that would be okay.
Yes that’s fine to use! But it’ll create a more intense, and slightly “bitter” flavour, with a darker colour- so a recommendation would be to add half dark brown, and half white sugar!
@@-fantasyfallen914 i only have coarse brown sugar not the soft one is that okay
Nellaaa Nm for the filling right? It doesn’t matter what sugar you use for the filling as long as it’s some form of brown sugar so you’ll be fine :)
Is that glazing sugar you are using like large grain sugar or something ? How is is such large crystals and crunchy..?
Yes sparking sugar is a larger grain but you could use regular granulated or even leave it off.
