Thank you sir, I am a operator at a magnesium bi-sulfite pulp mill, and I appreciate every word you shared, the extensive history of paper and pulp gives me a greater sense of appreciation for what many of my coworkers consider just a paycheck. I watched many of your papermaking classes, quite enjoyed them.
But, I was wondering, is there a more modern way of sizing paper (surface sizing)?
Specially to make a paper more resistant to moisture/water?
I was wondering if one could surface size a coloring book paper to be able to use watercolor or water based pens on it without bleeding…
I tried gelatin, and while it does prevent bleeding to the other side, the response of the water based medium on top of it is very washed down.
Would a distilled water and CMC solution work better?

One definition of the word 'web' is - a complex system of interconnected elements.
so we have spiders web - as you know this is a complicated system of interconnected silk like threads
we also have World Wide WEB - a complex system of interconnected computers.
And paper WEB, - a complex system of interconnected fibres.
