I see you were in Worcester.
I'm from taunton
Can u sell me all seats door cards £300
Seated heats? That’s some extra 😂
Alex be lit burnin 🔥🔥🔥
4:56 😂
Was gonna say that 😅
Glad I’m not the only one that heard Taylor say that 😂
He says it every time. It’s a Taylor thing.
this is what happens without Rory's supervision
Good 😉
“It’s got seated heats!” I peed a little😂
They are the best ones 😂
Made me crease too😂
Haha but sadly stolen from the guys from throttle house 😂😂
@@worldofthemusic8074 do you not think it was just an accident😂
you didn't piss, your seated heats are on.
Never change what you're doing Alex keep buying old bangers we love it
Love the new Omega Drift police project! I don’t know why but I feel like it should be called Derek, he needs those cats taken out, hot air intakes, slammed on some coil-overs and he’s ready for his first drift day
Absolutely a Derek mobile
Or turn it into another ute
Absolutely is a Derek for sure
I vote for Derek. It's got those Derek kind of vibes.
Hot air intake? 😂
Alex you are doing a banger job running your own independent channel.
I’m proud of you!
You absolute lads I went to school in Taunton so weird hearing you legends say a name I havent heard in 15 years. You just get better and better boys
I love this channel as you can actually afford some of the projects 😂
Where I live it costs money to get rid of the scrap... I can't afford both 😢
Did Taylor really say "its got seated heats"🤣🤣🤣
Them seated heats sound like a good idea.
"V6 motorrr" never gets old... Thanks jezza
i cant help but tp hear alex saying Omega as Amiga.
Edit: LOL the exhaust makes almost as much smoke as the tires. that's fantastic.
Taylor adds such value to the channel!
I had a V6 omega for a while. My dad bought it new in '94 and then I ended up buying it off a family member. Was as rusty as a pig but still super comfy. The V6 sounded alright too
These v6 omegas make good drifty bois the long wheel base makes it very forgiving. Absolute bargain weld the diff and your be mint !
I’ve now watched the video, you welded the diff it’s now mint !
Here in Australia the Holden commodore based heavily of the omega is known for being wrapped around pole by people drifting for the first time
Thats why i like this channel, who else would do an video about an old rusty omega?
I need Taylor’s glasses for professional reasons 😂
😂
Autoalex uploads, I instantly like and watch it!
I genuinely can’t get enough of this channel it’s amazing- I’m currently binge watching all back episodes 😂
One of those series where you improve it's track time every upgrade you do would be nice! Like that one on the E46 330 diesel...
Would be nice but since they’re building it for drifting I don’t think lap time will be focused on as much as the E46 was
Nice to see you guys taking great care stripping out the interior. The love and attention to detail you are displaying is self evident. Careful with the seated heats.
This brings back some memories, my dad had the auto with sport button and we thought it was the fastest thing on the road until the head gaskets went and he scraped it 😂
Loving the content Alex, probably not the first to say it but I kind of wish you concentrated on 1 car at a time but anyway, your doing what soo many of us dream of doing. Keep up the good work sir 👏
Absolutely hilarious 🤣 love these guys
love the channel and looking forward to more of this kind of content
Great video Alex cant wait to see the m3 build 👍👍
My dad had a blue '96 Omega 2.5 CDX Estate Auto for about 7 years. Amazing car, so many awesome memories. Mainly of electrical gremlins (the alarm going off whilst we were driving being a particular highlight) and the noise of the v6 when overtaking in 'sport mode' (I was young at the time!). It was also sooooo comfy!
😂😂love the channel, always lightens up a weekend, cant wait for more content on this drift machine
4:55 "it's got seated heats" Taylor 2023
I love that floating glass back on the defender. I just saw a 90 on the motorway and it looked so good.
Nice work! My dad had the 2.0 petrol estate. Not sure it had a speedo, more of a calender. But stick on "sports mode" and that thing revved the nuts off itself.
The omega looks very much like a vx commodore wagon! But we got the 3.8 ecotec v6 here in Australia.
The potential is definitely there 👌
Let's be honest it is just a commy with a smaller engine haha
I bought a 2.5 Elite auto. It had Xenons, Electric rear blind, a Bose stereo with integrated phone,(sim card went in the stereo 😂). And the best bit, Seated rear heats! We called it the Slomega! It went side ways....everywhere. So much fun for £375.00!!!
You should have done a before/after when you stripped the car, like 0-60 (or 0-30), plus a before/after weight
That's the type of content we love to see :D
You guys are just living our dreams ! real banger that one ! Keep up the good work :D
Love this vlog style video - Alex will be putting Rory out of a job soon 😅
Will always need Rory as he is a better version of me!
@@AutoalexCars you’re becoming the only expendable one on the channel 🤣
Love the video's can't wait to see the omega finished
Love it 2 video ideas with an omega ive seen with Alex involved, prefer this one the car throttle one shouldn't of been abandoned. Love this could guess from when it was blurred it was an omega. Proper drift sleeper that is you wouldn't expect it unless you look inside.
Robbed that off him at that price. Was cheap enough at 500 🤣
I thought that too 🤣🥴
Nice one :) I had one myself (Opel Omega), same engine, a joy to drive. Later on I bought a Omega B MV6 with a 3.2l V6. Nice memories :)
2:53 cheeky R36 Passat in top left, just thought i'd mention ;)
What your doing is what I wish I had the time to do with my channel! Epic stuff as usual mate!
my childhood was spent around these. My dad had 3 over the years and 1 being the full 2.6 v6 with he full irmscher (if ive spelt it right) kit. It stood out from anything else on our street and was such a head turner yet felt like you was cruising in your armchair it was an awesome car
" its got seated heats!!!" killed me a bit
I'm gonna get in trouble for this! 😂😂
Love those big ol Omegas, top work lads 👏👏
Alex, you and Taylor are great to watch I love the content, shit boxes rule!!!.
That road trip just sparks joy
Loving these vids 😂😂😂
I am currently work on a MV6 restoration project. Three words, Leaks, Leaks and Leaks. If you have carefully stripped the interior carefully, you can probably make a profit selling those parts online 😂😂😂😂😂. If I bought another Omega. I probably will strip it and put one of those plug and play LS3 + Gearbox units in it 🤪
Those omega estates were bloody brilliant - I used to go to France and back on holiday in my dads omega tourer - I have such fond memories of it and the engine noise was gorgeous - god I love them - my dad then got an elite with the 3.0 engine which was a step up and even better again. Such wonderful childhood memories.
3 litre a "step up", that's crazy😂.. The smallest entry level engine you could get here in those was the 3.8L V6... You could get a cast iron block 5L V8 or the all alloy 5.7L V8 LS1 from the Corvette backed by a t56 6spd manual in the sport (clubsport) or luxury (senator) versions..
@@darianistead2239 From oz? I don't think it's quite the same car. There was a project to get the LS1 in to the EDM Omega (officially by GM) but it never got off the ground due to cooling requirements and the fact that the steering column would foul (i think) the exhaust manifold.
@@lankyboy90 It's the same car.
The Holden Commodore was a revised Opel Omega with the main changes being appearances of the front/rear and interior. Every new Omega model was followed by a commodore. All Commodores had a V8 option, Peter Brock who made Holden special variants for the factory took a Monza and fitted a V8 and front panels from a commodore to try get Holden to sell a coupe variant.
The fact GM couldn't make one work is of no surprise..
@@darianistead2239 Not quite that simple. There are a couple of fundamental differences between the Commy and the Omega. Firstly, the Commy used a transaxle gearbox, the Omega didn't. This proved to be one of the death knells for the project as the only 'conventional' gearbox that would fit and could handle the power of the LS1 was a 4 speed auto and during testing the flex plate kept failing during full throttle runs because they upped the rev limit to 6000rpm to try and regain some of the power from the modifications they had to make the valvetrain and breathing gear to get the engine to fit. GM Europe declared the car 'nicht vollgassicher' and the project was canned.
@@lankyboy90 Wrong.. The commodore has never ever had a transaxle, it has a conventional transmission mated to the engine. The corvette had a transaxle and torque tube.. The LS1 in the Commodore was available with the t56 6speed manual or auto without issue.
It was that simple, not if over complicated by germans whom answer to penny pinchers like GM corporate, who could of just asked the Aussies who were doing it and had been for decades before they tried and failed miserably🤷♂️..
Ah wait they did🤦♂️.. The commodore was called the Vauxhall Monaro, the Pontiac gto, g8.. And when the Omega was no longer produced, Holden had to actually make their own rwd platform cars which GM then used as the base for their cadillac Cts, chev caprice, chev SS etc..
Used to work for a car hire company when these were new. We had one V6 manual which was always great fun on wet roundabouts😂 It was a sad day when it was replaced with a 2.2 auto 4 cyl 😢
Amazing, you guys need to be on TV, best youtube channel by far 👌👌👌👌
No one watches 'normal' TV anymore so I'd rather have them stay on YT
4:57 it got "seated heats" 😂😂👏
What a missile 😂😂 we have these here in Australia too but called a Holden Commodore and they had a 3.8 V6 Buick in them. Plenty of fun when we were 18
Excellent sounds and noises Guys.
"It's got seated heats" 04:57 🤣
bet no one clocked onto Taylor saying 'seated heats'
Where is that one guy saying: I didn't try this at home, I tried it at a workshop 😂
4:57 “It’s got SEATED heats” Haha!
What an interesting purchase cant wait, on an unrelated note that diet is working Taylor! keep it up 😁
Dear Car Vertical, I'm sure your service is indeed very handy and I suspect you have done well out of your campaign. I am however beginning to hate you a little as you're on every bloody video I watch! Do consider having a break, much love, Cordite
It’s because we watch car videos
It used to be AutoTempest, I can't wait for the next one
Be happy that he gets some sponsors instead!! What a goof.
they are helping Alex buy glorious shitboxes for us! I'd watch a full feature film length ad if it means the minion gets $$$ for tin cans like that Omega!
Amen to that.
🤣Briliant! After a long working day, nice to get some quality content! I think you should call it Vera.
Just received the limited edition sticker! Love the content guys!
Great episode 👍🏻
id love to own a manual omega one day, a v6 one too. rare beasts
Oh yessssss!!!!! I love it! I have 3 Omega's myself so bonuspoints from me!
We need some videos where you actually start working on these cars!! Where’s the s2000 gone?
Take the O off the badge and call it the MEGA!
About 15yrs ago I had a signum V6 but unfortunately it was only fwd. Still made an awesome noise with an akb intake and straight through exhaust though.
I love that youre listening to hot chips "laid back" whislt the most upright and close to the wheel ive ever seen xD
It’s got seated heats 🤣🤣 cracked me up
loving Taylors sun glasses :)
What were you guys up to in Worcester? Noticed you were at diglis basin when doing the car vertical bit
Thumbs up without even looking at the vid. Always pure quality 👍
GREAT VIDEO GUYS 👍👍CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU TAKE IT OUT THE GARAGE 👍👍
4:57 🤣"its got seated heats "
'I'm gonna get in trouble for this'... Those famous words that are only uttered as something truly amazing is about to happen... Good luck 🍀
Basically a Holden Commodore! Enjoy the mang machine boys 😎🤙
the quintessential Opel/Vauxhall 90s experience: a shitton of rust
Thanks for the video and stay safe ✌️.
Gotta love Taylor from taylormadecars
Got my AutoAlex 500 limited edition sticker in the post today🎉 straight on the car 🚙💨 packaging was signed too 🤙cheers Alex!
What CarPlay mmi box has Taylor got in that x5? Any good? I’m getting one this summer for my 6 series.
"It's got seated heats" lmao, that cracked me up.
I have the granddad of the omega, an Opel senator a (Vauxhall Royal) with the big straight 6 engine. even with an open diff it slides like a champ.
love the vids alex👍❤
Just an idea….?….for a future AutoAlex project you might like to consider engineering a “sleeper” that aces the Rufford Ford at high tide - something mundane that gets totally submerged but chugs on through and out the other side….?….watch those Jeep boys weep…..things to consider might be air-intake from the passenger compartment and exhaust into the boot to prevent slurping up to much ford juice….periscope optional……someone will do it eventually, it might as well be you……you can swim can’t you?
Seated heats 😅😅 nice one Taylor
I wouldn't ever imagine that an Opel Omega (Vauxhall Omega in this case) is RWD. This past winter I was looking for a RWD car to smash around, found a MB C230 (2.3 petrol), straight piped it, welded the diff and went on to have some fun in winter track
Yup. First car I ever slid round a roundabout in about 1997. Nothing more fun for a 23 year old than a hire car with a v6 and rwd. 😂
yeah theyre well known for being RWD. guy named mastermilo fitted tractor tires to the rear lol
@@chester597 is that the same guy that did the no suspension ford focus?
Think they were used for donor cars for kit car projects back in early 2000s. Cheap, RWD and the lack of technology made them easy to covert
@@bogdanrus9402 ya man haha
I love Taylor's sunglasses!
Just like the south coast 500 video for car throttle I love to see you guys down my neck of the woods
I live in Taunton and wasn't expecting that!😊
I got my mk1 mx5 from Taunton, at 6’4 it was a very long drive back to Essex
Now you just need to give that @BeckyEvans a bell, she's based in your part of the world & she can come & instruct you in the ways of Drift.
Also, are you going to be adding a hydro handbrake?
She has done well her. I remember when SoL pushed her first video
@@StephenButlerOne
And Paul aka SoL has disappeared off the radar !
I mean her other half would do a better job at teaching drifting
@@michaelthomas8981 I've not followed any of the show pony channels for a long time.
I can only imagine the finance costs caught up with him in the end. Unless you strike it huge fast, I can't see how the financials work. Especially with interests escalating and the car market slowed right down.
As I said I've not watched out for them channels in probably 4 years, but I can't see how COVID lockdown would work, not being able to make content, so not generating then interest payments. Some car prices rocketed in lock down, but if you was stuck with the wrong car not appreciating, no content, and still paying that finance. I just don't know how you'd square that whole.
I doubt he'd put away much, given he was just trading up cars every few months, and swanning round Monaco, his margins must of been paper thin. I think he still lived at home to do wouldn't of had a house collateral to leverage as they went up.
All speculation on my part, he may of cashed in and is living a great life in France with a great Megan RS for all I know. Or not...
@@jakeevans1129 If you want somebody to win a championship for you in a 1200bhp specialist hand built space frame drift car, James is your man. But I've seen video of Becky teaching beginners how to drift, she's a good teacher, & I suspect letting JD loose on them wouldn't help them much at all!
Holden Commodore wagon! Love it.
So Nice to see an omega, great cars
You 2 are legends💪
