- My top recommendations for the best golf drivers you should be looking at based on your handicap! While performance off the tee can sometimes be better or worse than your handicap suggests, this gives a great starting point for anyone looking at what type of driver would be best for their game.

94 - only broken 90 once in my 1.5 years of golfing but loving being able to consistently break 100!
for 1.5 years of golfing that is pretty good, keep the grind going
Facts he tiger woods
Cheers - just got back from a Portugal golf trip playing some tough courses and didn’t break 100 once, so might be back to the drawing board… 🥲
I’m a 19 h/c and found the Titleist TSR1 to deliver the best results for me in my fitting last week. Tried several (TM, PING, MIZUNO) but for me and my swing, the TSR1 was the one. I hope everyone gets fitted and go with the one suited for you😃
I shoot around the 90’s and improving and love my Aerojet LS
I am a 1 handicap and still have my Callaway Maverick. Love it.
I'm a few strokes worse than that, but I agree that the Mavrik is solid. Every year I try to see if anything can kick it out of the bag, and nothing ever does.
I'm an 11 and still love my Mavrik. I bought the paradigm and like it but still think Mavrik is better
I'm off 5 and just got the sub zero, when it's good it's really good - when it's bad it's in a different postcode.
I play at 12 and love my maverick, play it neutral at 8 with the weight in the back. When its windy ill move the heavier weight to the front and it plows through the wind
25 handicap, was once a 9 30 years ago. Kids and life have gotten in the way of my golf hobby. Happy that when I do get out on the course once or twice a year I can still break 100 and sometimes 90. Enjoy your content. Makes me feel like I’m keeping touch with the game.
A 14 handicap golfer gaming a Cobra Radspeed XB 10.5 deg. With a UST Senior 4F2 shaft and I love it, ave. drive between 230 and 260 yards.
Hi, I've finally subscribed. Some of your recent videos have convinced me. Looking forward to more great content. 👍
I'm in your tricky zone 11 handicap 😅
Awesome video Peter!! I started golf in 2021 during covid and was a high handicapper. I normally shot in the mid to high 90’s with a couple of rounds in the low 80’s which makes no sense. My handicap had come down to a 12 at the end of last year which is awesome. I played a lot in the simulator over the winter here in upstate NY and figured a couple things out about my swing. I played 9 holes in February at Hiland Park golf club (wish I played 18) and was 2 over after that 9. I am confident that I will be a single digit handicap this year! I play a ping G410 plus at 9* with an x-stiff shaft. My current club head speed is 118. Awesome videos! Love the content. If you’re in NY I’ll take you out . Cheers
I play off 8. Had a stealth + in the bag, great distance, but lacked forgiveness- changed to the Wilson, and its absolutely changed my driver game. it's brilliant! I'm happy to hear you think the same Pete!
I'm using a stealth plus too. It's really not forgiving sigh. I'm thinking to get the cobra darkspeed
What happened to "Fargiveness"
*using the OG sim
@@jeremiahgolfs that's stealth 2 right
I'm a 4 handicap and recently got fitted into the Qi10 LS 10.5 with Ventus TR Black w/Velocore 6X. I've played one round with it so far and it's tremendous!
im a mid 90's golfer. I use the PXG Gen 6 XF, love it!!!
Wilson dynapwr carbon man. Handicap 9. Love that club
22 hcp currently have ping g430 max. Great way of explaining what
Tech is aimed at what skill base on Average !
I went out on a limb and ordered the Ping G430 Max 10K after watching your video, reading a million reviews and taking the Ping online fitting…… Played 2 rounds so far (In Norway) and simply can’t describe how impressed I am with this club and the level of confidence it gives me off the tee. Simply amazing, low spin, controllable, long and forgiving. I’ve cranked it down to 8 degrees, as I have no problem launching it in the air. (5HC)
For an average golfer, are you against the "stiff shaft"
Not sure I understand the question. I play a Kai’li white 60x shaft
Peter , thank you very much for doing this video. Been waiting for someone to cover this topic. Would liked to see more than one choice per HDC category. It’s a good start. My average score is 80. Please expand on this very important topic if possible.
Thanks. 🤙
100. I shoot for bogey golf and am delighted to do any better on each hole!
Same...for me double @every hole is good..had 2 very good days when my 5w worked me down to 94...nice to see honest answers tho
@@gasperstarina9837 Good on you for breaking 100!!! I can't say I have with bogey golf as the goal!
I currently shoot mid to low 80’s never broke 80 yet and I play the callaway rogue st max. Love this driver
Great video Pete, Callaway Mavrik Driver and 5 wood in my bag, 16 handicap. I suggested the Wilson's for a friend of mine who is a 20 HDCP on average.
Great vid. Actually helpful for everyone!
Another great one as always Peter! I'm shooting right around 90 these days but looking to drop some more strokes this year!
High HC here shoot mid 90's , only started back playing last year after a 20 year lay off. Love Wilson clubs and bought the Dynapower Carbon , I love it .
Good Job Pete love the channel. Current Handicap 17 usually shoot around 90 or high 80s.
Great video content as always!!! I'm looking at possibly purchasing a new driver. Broke it down perfectly. I'm mid handicap. Right now hitting the Calloway Epic Flash.
You mentioned the one driver with a massive weight in the heel. I remember as a kid, my Dad adding lead tape to my driver for exactly what you described. I'm 65 now and life is getting harder. I absolutely believe using all the equipment advantages a person can get. I am using a 5W on a lot of my drives for control and consistency on tight fairways. (score lower by keeping it in play and on the short grass). I finally accepted the thought of senior shafts and am now at an 11 handicap (from the old man tees). Excellent content in this video!!!
I like these comparison videos Pete. Currently around 9.5 handicap and this year switched to G425 max from Stealth 2. Still playing the Kali White 60 gram stiff, -.50" which is a great shaft for me. I have an aggressive transition and a tendency to hit the ball too high. Love the G425's forgiveness better than the Stealth 2's distance
Still gaming my Callaway GBB Epic Sub Zero. Went for a three wood fitting a couple of weeks ago as I lost my three wood of 15 years. 😢 and I tried a few drivers when my fitting was finished. Still nothing beating the GBB SZ in 2024. Some longer but not by much, BUT not as forgiving, some more forgiving but losing too much distance. All the major companies are selling the same driver dressed up differently the last 8 or so years. All the smaller/cheaper brands have now caught up because the technology has stalled and they can make the same club for a lot cheaper.
Still gaming the gob subzero👌.. even bought a few of them in really good condition so I’ve got a few if i ever need it .. already cracked one head so onto the second already,.. and if distance and low spin is what your looking for there isn’t a new driver that’s came out that can hang with my gbb epic subzero iv got mine on a hzrdus green (hulk) shaft with a tour strong adapter on it so I’ve got a 9 degree head down @7 degrees .. heavy weight at the front … and my big chunk golf pride jumbo grip …. Carry it about 290 consistently
Sure you do 😅😅😅
Thats a vague claim and specific for you. It's nice that you are loyal to your driver but to claim technology hasn't improved driver performance is laughable.
@gdeezy The only thing laughable is the like of people like you believing what you see and read from the brands selling you a £500 driver that gonna go 10 yards further 😆 However the more informed of us will go and check that the COR rules have not changed while we were on holiday 😉
On a completely different note, would you be interested in some magic beans?
@@MyFoxworld all it would take is "the more informed of us" to spend a little time in a sim comparing more then 2 clubs to their beloved gamer from 12 yrs ago to realize that bias is a thing and technology isn't so scary. But I suppose you "more informed" know more then the pros who actually have a stake in performance.
I love breakdowns like this.
I regularly score in the high 80s to low 90s. Been playing for about 3 years and one piece of equipment that helped me tremendously is my G425 Max driver (10.5 degrees, outfitted with the Tensei Orange 65 Stiff Shaft).
Never get ride of it unless it breaks. If you need more forgiveness then get a heavier weight!!!
Good article, It's hard to know where to start when you're in the market for a new driver ! This gives you a starting point by comparing which club offers what you need !
Love to see a review on the new 230 series of drivers by Mizuno !
Got my first outing booked for sat. Expecting doubles and triples all day but very excited
Stealth HD, love it, so confident over my drives now
The memes incorporated in Peter Finch’s videos are the absolute best
Consistent 85 using the Mavrik Max driver from 2020.. Great driver!
Great video, fairly new to golf so don’t have a handicap at the moment. Looking change my driver, I as I picked one up cheap when I started. When I had a driver lesson a few weeks ago, the coach said I had a driver suited towards low a handicap player. I have been and was really struggling with getting any loft into shots with10 degrees.
He grabbed a Mizuno with 12degree of loft and the a Stealth can’t remember what loft that was set to. said try these was blown away, by how much higher and further I was hitting them. Yes I still need to work on my swing, but if I make this game a little easier for now, I’ll take it until I have improved.
Great video! I typically shoot 90-95, with the occasional 85 or 100 that pops up. Handicap sits at 18.7 currently.
Great video. I play off 6 and normally shoot around 77 and have just been fit in to a new Darkspeed X.
These little cut ins (monica, gary neville) just get me 😂, top editing
Currently playing off 19 with an average score in the mid 90s. Have had a Cobra Speedzone in the bag for 2 years now and love it.
Hey Pete, I am currently sat at about a 16 handicap due to winter and a like of course time, I use the taylormade stealth 2+ and i have to admit, its a great driver, but there is definitely times I could due with some more forgiveness, the ping 10k and the QI-10 MAX are both serious contenders for my bag. Keep these video's coming matey.
I’m a 25+ handicap and I just got fitted in a QI10 max and I absolutely love it so much more than my previous driver. It was also my first driver fitting which I really feel helped to choose the right head and shaft for my swing. Another plus is that carbon face, it sounds fantastic on impact.
I shoot around 101-110. Anytime I can get bogey or better I'm happy. Currently using a Wilson Launchpad Driver and love it!
I’m a 21 handicap and I recently purchased a Callaway Rogue Max D.
Just switched to the Wilson dynapowr carbon. For. Mizzy Stz. Similar distance but so much more control and Confidence. Game changer for my driving. Hcap 3.
ty for the vids Finchy!
I bought the 10K max after watching this video. It does not disappoint. This is the best club I've bought in years. Thanks Pete!
Very informative video, always good to have some idea before you go and get fit for a driver.
Hi Pete, I've just recently really gotten into golf and am slowly working my scores downtowards 100. (I don't go fishing anymore so needed another hobby to spend ridiculous amounts of money that I don't have on😂) Used to play casually years ago with a set of MaxFli clubs and loved loved them but left them in Australia before moving to Ireland. I have been playing with a cheap set of Stinger STX clubs i bought on special and I never know where the drives are going to end up! A mate recently lent me a Taylormade RBZ and bugger me, I have finally found out what a draw is. Only been hitting it at the range but finally feel confident behind a driver and can't wait to get out for a round when, or more accurately, if, this rain ever stops. Love the show mate and also swing quest. I reckon you've helped my game come along a lot quicker with all your tips. Cheers.
Peter, I watch enough of your videos at this point to finally commit to subscribing. The next time you have a subscribe push in a video that takes me by surprise, I will hit that button. I'm excited at the prospect.
Also thanks for convincing me to try out the G430Max10k. I put it in the bag and my driving is better than ever.
Mid 80s from 6300yard range. Got fit into a TSR2 with a lightweight counter balanced shaft last summer and has been my best club.
Been playing the original 2016 Ping G driver for years. Handicap fluctuates between 16 and 18, so happy to see the Ping G 430 Max 10k as the likely choice for me - planning to upgrade next month with a fitting. Want to get the right shaft for me also.
80's generally. Just changed from my Mizuno stZ 220, which I loved. But, I just put the P 10K in the bag and am thrilled. It was always going to take a hell of a club to bump my Mizuno because imo, it is the most consistent driver I have ever owned and more than long enough. That is exactly what Ping delivered...one hell of a club.
Very high 90s scorer who was recently in the 100s, and hoping to improve more soon. Went for a driver fitting a few months back and was fitted with a Callaway Paradym X 9° stiff Kaili white shaft, which helped with both distance and direction 👍
Thanks for video Pete. I'm a 19 hcp golfer struggled with driver went for a fitting and tried them all. 430 max, qi10, aismoke but was fitted for DarkSpeed max. Absolutely LOVE it. Saved over 100 quid and it looks great. Stupid name but I can live with that. One other thing 10g lighter shaft means after carrying for 18 holes I still hit 'great'drives
Can’t believe Peter is giving no love to Callaway’s AI Smoke. I found that a lot more forgiving than the QI10 Max. Probably his team “borrowed” it before filming this video 😂😂😂
Did you use the AI smoke or AI smoke Max D?
I just had a new driver fitting and had to go for the Ping, the increase in distance shocked me but so did the consistency cant wait to use it, its the first brand new driver i had in 8 years.
Last driver I had was a Callaway mavrik and was set up for distance, with a softer shaft and lower spinning 9 degree head. Went this year with a telephone pole Denali black 6x (for me a telephone pole at least) and a spinning Callaway ai smoke max head in 10.5. Was able to retain all my distance while gaining an absurd amount of dispersion. I haven’t missed a fairway in my last 18 holes!
Love the new cal smoke 3 diamond
I play to a +3. Also the ping 10K is amazing
75-82 average and 5.5 handicap. Keep up good work
Hey Peter, Thanks for another great video. Usually shoot low to mid 80's. Currently gaming a Cobra RadSpeed.
20 handicap, I bought a qi10max after a fitting originally for a g430max to replace my ping g driver which I loved. I've only been able to use it at the range so far as my course has been closed due to the weather every time I've booked to play 😂
back to golf after many years away ,no swing anymore ,used to play off 9 ,i'm 74 and i am now shooting 25 plus arthritis everywhere , tried hybrid irons ,waste of space, play better with regular type irons (x22s} but they feel too heavy any recommendation on a suitable newer lighter iron would be most appreciated .Love your videos Peter and happy golfing to all out there and out Eugene.
Nice review, I am a 15 handicap and chose the Cobra Driver. Cheers
Love the concept of the video
just got home from a fitting and ended up with the new cobra darkspeed max... a fantastic driver that has given me 15-20 meters more than my old driver which was a ping g425max.. not that ping was a bad driver but the wasn't the longest.. and I play with a handicap of 12.8.. and my miss has always been foooore right... that's why it was the max that won.. and my normal score on a round is 85 give or take...
Another great video. I am an 18 handicap and currently gaming the 2018 Callaway Rogue. My average distance is about 235, and just recently gained more control over the direction of shots; however, I still suffer from the dreaded issue of topping it and it goes less than 100 yards. I've never been fit and as much as I can appreciate the tech and forgiveness in the Ping G430, I just do not like the turbulators. My eyes get drawn to them and since I set up closer to the toe I don't think I would enjoy gaming that driver.
14hcp here. I went in for a fitting this year and after trying the new drivers, I walked out with Ping G430 max10k. Was playing Cobra LTDx prior.
I am a senior golfer, 16 to18 handicap, had G400, recently purchased Taylormade BRNR Mini Driver, but way consider the new Ping 10K
12 hcp, scores are usually mid 80s-low 90s. Recently purchased the Ping G430 Max 10k, 10.5 degree, Nemesys 65 S shaft.
I am a new golfer and got Cobra F Max superlite driver and irons used on ebay and I absolutely love them. Not sure if the extremely light graphite shafts will hurt or help me in the long run though
I'm a golfer who generally scores between 95 and 100 and I have a Titleist TSi1 12 degree, senior flex and love it, it's the first driver I've ever had that I can hit consistently, I can't afford to pay for the latest release clubs so tend to look for clubs 2 or 3 years old if I'm buying a new one.
It’s always a good day when a new Peter finch club review comes out
I’m currently off 24 but aiming for 18 by the end of this season. This is only my second year playing. I bought the Callaway paradym last year and really like it.
Just got fitted from club champion in a tsr3 7.25 head with Ventus tr black 6-x shaft felt amazing when we got the combination together trying to get back into playing this year probably a 10 handicap because I can’t putt
I'm a 26 hcp and just bought a Callaway ST Max, loving it so far
im at 0 hcp, and i am using it too. awesome driver head.
18 handicap here. I bought the Max LS, cannot hit it to save my life!
@@rangerofthenorth2850 LS model isn't designed for a high handicap. The Max x would've been the choice. Most forgiving of the bunch.
Right now I average 90. Best round was last year shooting an 85. I just got fitted for new irons so hoping to live in the 80s this year! Keep up the great content!!
Using the Stealth 2 HD driver with a UST PROFORCE V2 HL regular shaft and love it and am a 7 handicap at age 59 scores last year ranged from 71 to 86 depending on the course my home course was 71 to 81 for scores cheers from Canada
Best video Pete.
I'm hitting a Srixon ZX5 and seems to be going good. Wouldn't upgrade to a newer model like the Ping or TM as it's a rip off here in NZ
11 handicap looking to replace my Stealth. Really helpful video Pete!
Me too. Seems like the ping g430 is the way to go based on multiple reviews
Currently a 23 handicap mainly shooting in the 90s. Been playing a few years and started to have some lessons. Hoping to get fit at the end of the year once I have something resembling a consistent technique.
6 handicapper, been using a Cleveland Launcher Driver for years, shaft snapped at the hosel for the second time so just got a great deal on a Ping G425 LST. Massive difference in distance, been an absolute treat so far
i game the launcher xl lite, but the ping g430 has caught my eye after testing one.
this is fantastic, i would love to see this with fairway woods & hybrids
I'm happy to break 90 and I use a PXG 0211. Absolutely love this driver and I think its very underrated.
12 HC here. Still playing the Ping G400 and very happy with it. Aldila RIP shaft, regular flex
5.2 handi. I game the Cobra Radspeed, love it.
I have the speed zone and know a 9 degree Ltdx! Love cobra gear!
I shoot anywhere from 80 to 95. With the testing of the 2024 Drivers, one stood out for me. The Ping G430 Max 10K. Loved the long drives it produced during testing. Went in the bag that day. So far, it has not disappointed. It keeps the drivers straight-er.
Great video play the ltdx max right now.soring around 90
Been playing Wilson clubs since the 90s Great value but also well put together. 25 handicap player.
Damn, 30 years of playing and still a 25 handicap
@@lxlpsycho I know plenty of players who claim sub 90 averages who cheat and have terrible memories when it comes to writing down a score. Breakfast balls, mulligans, free lifts, hitting OB balls without penalty, fluffing the ball and on and on. Golf is hard and a good score has to be earned not created.
@@joeclutchless1944 yeah dude, 30 years, plenty of time don't you think?
last year on medals it averaged out between 85 and 95. I play off 14.7 whs index which gives a course handicap of 17. Tee to green usually not bad but putting really lets me down need to get my head in the right space and do some practice. Currently use a Cobra F9 but just won a Taylormade Qi10 Max had it custom fit and just waiting on delivery.
I'm happy if I hit under 100 😂 but just got a wilson launchpad driver and it's helped my slice no ends it doesn't go as far as my pxg did but I know I can hit fairway 80% of the time so I'm more than happy with it and I'm confident when I tee up now 😁
Great video mate. I play off 18 and have just got the QI10 standard and have never hit so many fairways!! Average round is 90ish
chillin at 14.6 handicap but at the end of this year I should be at around 10 or so. I right now have a 7 year old cobra speedzone and love it very much.
I'm an 8 handicap so was good to see I made the right decision going for the Wilson driver 😁😁
I broke my Stealth that I bought pre-owned, and now I'm looking at the Wilson Carbon. The reviews are good, and the price is right.
Did you happen to try it out V the titanium first?
I'm a 13 handicap and just bought the Qi10 Max with the Ventus Red 5 shaft. I'm older with slower swing speed. The Qi10 just beat out the Ping for consistency in the Club Champion fitting.
I clicked the like button so Saturday morning when I am on the first tee, I am going to absolutely rip it... Thanks Pete!
I'm a senior golfer. I'll shoot generaly 83-87. My current driver is TM M1. My driver average is 185-205. Almost always in the fairway. Also I use the senior tees. I would love to try that TM Qi10 max. Looks awesome. Also a 19 handicapper
100-110 on average.. 30 handicap.. Love the game and love the content !
Same here. Best 9 holes being 47 and lowest 18 being 100. Playing tsi2 driver/woods and ap3 irons
According to shot scope, my average round was 78… pretty decent. I feel the winter has been productive but I just don’t get on with my TM Stealth.. I think I need a change 🤔🤔
Got a fitting next Tuesday 👌🏽
I shoot around 82 I’m, 13 years old hoping to get better. Also I use the g430 from ping last year, all my other clubs are a lot older though.
I shoot about 100 usually. Have just changed my old Callaway Octane Diablo for the Mavrik Max. Only used it a couple of times but feels more forgiving if not any longer.
Scoring mid to low 80’s broken 80 once while I was living in New Zealand I’ve got the cobra speed zone driver and still not fallen in love with anything new yet
