My Great Uncle was a member here for over 50 years. I was fortunate enough to play 9 holes with him in his final years. It’s a memory I’ll cherish forever. When he past I went with my mum to collect his stuff, the club were wonderful and hosted us for lunch and chatted about our memories of him. Glad you enjoyed it and really happy to see it again for the full 18! Special place!

I don't usually comment on CZcams videos but man oh man! What a wonderful production by Team Peter Finch. The camera work, music, editing and of course the golf and talk from Mr. Peter Finch was absolutely top class. Fantastic video as usual, Pete & Co! Golf is truly such a crazy game of mere inches. If those putts just start lipping in or moving a little bit in your favor, that's the difference in shooting one or two under, and four or five over. It's so tough to play in 30+ mph gusty winds. It truly does affect everything from tee to putting on the green, and often a lot more than people realize.

One of my favourite courses, all three nines are great. What I love about the championship 18 is that a good shot is always rewarded but you'll almost always be given a chance to recover from an errant ball (unless you hit it off the planet!), unlike so many other similar stature links courses which are far too penal offline. Another great video!

I literally feel your pain, I suffer heavily with a bad back, I played yesterday and hit 1 good drive on the front nine, I had no ability to turn, I topped it, hooked it and sliced it and just couldn't get it into the air. I almost walked off after 9. I reset, put the woods away and went 6 off the tee (now thinking I need maybe a 4/5 or driving iron in my armoury for those days when the back is particularly bad like yesterday. The 9's were like night and day with a 54 (very bad for me) on the front 9 and a 39 (very very good) on the back 9. I also had a day where my new PXG brandon putter shaved the hole pretty much every hole and I had a par fest on the back 9. Sadly, the back as usual has put me out of action for a week or two, the downside of a worn out body and getting old.

A couple of those putts went sideways on the last couple of rolls (especially that par putt on 9 - looked in all the way and then nicked a blade of grass and went left) and you hit the ball super clean. I'd just go back and look at those couple of approach shots you hooked and see if you can work out why. Apart from that a couple of three putts on a very difficult day and the ball just didn't roll your way.

First rate video. Exceptional course in an idyllic setting between Malahide and Howth
what’s not to like! Excellent round with some great golf
 tricky greens

Played there in 2010 on a windy September day. Epic course.

That ‘stand alone’ tree was not a “Palm” tree, but a NewZealand ‘Cabbage’ tree Peter!

I also started doing the bronze, silver, gold thing. I’ve only had ONE gold, in the last couple of months. However, lots of bronze. Haha

    Hey Pete,
I find myself wondering how you would play if you had a caddie to distract you from getting in your head, suggest various approach strategies around the greens, help read putts, etc.
Might be worth it warming up to and through open qualifying.
I feel like Myrtle Beach, this and your first sponsor competition were all there with skills. You may have had very different results with a caddy.
    Just a thought.
