This was a rare treat indeed. Paddy is not only a great champion of the game, he is a great gentleman and ambassador as well. At 63 years old with a half-century of golf under my belt, I can honestly say that I learned some things watching this episode. I would suggest a rematch between Padraig and "the new" Peter! 🫡❤👍

@@CHuzz7777 they have the Wilson dynapower forged which is Wilson's version of the P790, I have the older version, the D9 forged and they are really nice irons.

@@ShaunY1988 Yeah, I’ve no doubt they’re great irons but if they looked like Wilson’s Staff Model blades they’d sell ten times as many. TaylorMade figured this out seven years ago with the P790 and have been laughing all the way to the bank since.

When I saw this video pop up on my list, I just smiled. The smile didn’t stop until I finished watching - Paddy and Pete are a great combo. Love that Paddy just wants others to play well and doesn’t mince his words.

I don't often comment, but Padraigs talk on attitude was 100% right. I beat myself up for years for not hitting this or that, but now I play to enjoy and remember where I am with my mates playing the game I love .
I realized just a couple days ago that I beat myself up on the course because my days of junior golf in the 60's were nothing but competition where every shot counted. I quit for 25 years but when I started again even though not in competition I still had that attitude. Now after a 4 month lay off I just began my 8 month local membership & set higher scores as acceptable & not worrying about perfect play & have enjoyed the last 2 days with the 1st round doing well & yesterday a round where I lipped out just about every putt & laughed it off. Grinding competition is interesting in that some players like Paddy don't let the bad shots get to them but folks like Tiger expect every shot to be what they were imagining before they hit it & burn if they don't pull it off.
Be your own best friend, like Padraig sad🤩🫶
I'm one of few people who never really cheered on Tiger, I absolutely recognise he's an astonishing golfer and has wowed me on so many occasions, but I always support the Brits and Europeans and Padraig is one of my absolute favourite golfers through the years. I love his Irish wit and what a gent he is, but I found his insights on the mental aspects and attitude is so spot on. Great video absolutely loved it.

What a wonderful human being - I mean, both of you obviously, but we all know about you, for some of us this is our first time seeing Pádraig over a long period of time, you know? And the fact that he's scaled the heights of the golf world, the sporting world, been one of the very best in the world, but he's managed to keep himself completely grounded, is just awesome. You get the feeling he'd have time for anyone, whatever the situation. Thanks to both of you for sharing this experience with all of us.

Wonderful video! I've just come back from a golf trip to Scotland ( Nairn, Brora, Portmahomack, Covesea, Cruden Bay, Royal Aberdeen and Fraserburgh ). I will give myself that I didn't talk myself down.
I also played the best shot of my golfing career on this trip. I had a wonderful round at Royal Aberdeen, shot 79 ( 8hcp ) with a double bogey first and tripple bogey 18. But on the 17th tee, 167m, into 3 clubs worth of wind and that ball never left the flag. The best 3 iron I've ever hit; low stinger dead straight, ended up 2.10m from the hole.
Absolutely incredible advice from Mr. Harrington. Amateur golfers such as myself think we are that great of golfers to beat ourselves up over bad shots. The game is hard, even for pros. Biggest take away, look for the good in every shot. Certainly will get me in a better mindset when I play my next round tomorrow. Thank you for the advice.

A fabulous course just up the road from me. Owned by the Great Pat Ruddy and his family. A warm welcome always upon arrival. Seen Padraig win 2 Irish PGA tournaments on the course walking the fairways with him. The European club is extremely tough but fair and as Padraig said avoid the bunkers 😂. Great video with my Hero Padraig.

Always enjoy Peter Finch content but this has definitely got to be one of the best golf videos currently on CZcams. It has everything in it. Enjoyed the chat as much as the golf and really learned loads without anything being said about an actual golf swing. Awesome video. Don't know how someone is going to make a better video.

For many years, I struggled with an attitude on the golf course very similar to what Peter has admitted. I would get angry inside but not really show it, and it always affected my game negatively. Padraig really hits the nail on the head when he schooled Peter at the 43 minute mark. I no longer get angry or frustrated on the golf course. One of the top 10 golf rules is that if you set up and play the best shot you can and it doesn’t work then there’s nothing you can do about it. Just move onto the next one. My game is so much more enjoyable now that I’ve got rid of those demons, and I’m also playing some of the best golf I’ve ever played in the last 40 years. When Padraig Talk about mental strength on the course, man he is so right. Great video Peter very enjoyable and you need to do more like this😄
The stuff he said about attitude was spot on. I changed mine radically a few months back and have knocked 4 shots off my handicap but found some of the negativity creeping back the past three or four rounds amid one of those mini slumps so listening to Padraig berate Pete there was good timing and on point for me too.
“If your best friend talked to you the way that you talked yo yourself he probably would no longer be your friend” was a great rule of thumb. You have to be kind to yourself on the course. Golf is bloody hard!

Pete has PRIME English wit/sarcasm. As a sarcastic American, I wish I could deliver sarcasm with the kind of effortless skill Pete has. Makes the channel that much better. Especially the self depreciation.
Gonna be real honest. Hated Harrington when I was a teen watching golf during the tiger era. Can't pinpoint why, probably how good he was in Ryder Cups.
But this video and the podcast, he's quite lovely. I'd absolutely love to play a round with him.

That comment from Padraig on being a great chipper and feeling like a good putter is so true! Had a round where I felt like I putted great and turns out my short game strokes gained was massively up so was just putting from much closer so less 3 putts and quite a few single ones. Great video
Love it Pete! Immediately carried this to my son who is fairly new to competitive golf. And as a young man really struggles with the emotions involved in the game. Padraiqs advice is spot on. It is definitely the lowest hanging fruit!!

Watching Padraig win the opens I was about 19-20 some of the best tournament play in a major I have ever seen during Tiger woods heyday. Padraig his attitude had me pulling for him then and I have every since that day so glad to see him in a more relaxed atmosphere this video one of my fav golf videos instantly great job lads

Paddy has helped my golf game so much in a short amount of time. He is able to explain and demonstrate his teaching in a very clear and straight forward manner. Grateful for him, Mark Blackburn for helping my golf game so much in such a short amount of time. Grateful to have found these people at the very beginning of my golf journey.
Padraig Harrington is one of the few tour pros who can explain the golf swing very well, especially for beginners and low handicappers. As a former golf instructor, I found his tips on his own YT channel to be very helpful and would recommend anyone struggling with their swing to check out his channel. Awesome match, and genuine fun to watch!
These two lads are the absolute top bletherers in the game a golf. Seniors golf is 20 minute health update and 4 hours of complaining about everything else. Love it.

Been watching Pete for going on 7 years now and would never put him in the category of arrogant. However, I absolutely loved what Padraig said about attitudes. That little bit of humbleness is something we could all use and definitely some more than others especially in the CZcams amateur scene. World class stuff.
