After You watch this Awesome video you should check my Knife Restoration 😍 czcams.com/video/S4GwhXnPQw0/video.html
My favorite it the sand paper or the sand blaster thingy
yeah fav is most def the sand blasting. :P btw, 33k, time for new capacitor
Saw it! Awesome!
@@YtMoBBenny 0
My favourite part is when u sand blast it and then wash it
I like every part but my favorite noise is the hammer when you speed it up.
Omg same
sound is the best
Like a hummingbird 😍
Same, it’s classic tysy and part of why he’s special
Yeah me too, gets me going it does.
This is lockpicking lawer and today we are going to pick this vintage door lock.
he realy should let him pick it!
is everybody here hanging around the same channels?

Someone: what's your secret to your restoration?
Him: Haha Sand Blaster go brrrr
Yeassshhhh satisfying 🤤 😍
I still don't understand how 1,500 people dislike this? What could you possibly dislike about this?
haters gonna hate
I love when you have a really old piece and as you disassemble it, the screws audibly pop free from the rust
The best part is that the tools used are relatively common tools, except for the sand blasting cabinet of course. Some restores have a specialised tool for every job. This guy shows that it can also be done without a massive workshop. Kudos, enjoy the vids.
The massive workshop certainly helps, though
My favorite part of restoration process is the sand blasting. It’s actually soothing to me!
You're about to make me buy a sand blaster just for the hell of it so I can sand blast everything.
Sandblasting is the most enjoyable part for sure.
Until he misses a small part and i want to tear my hair out
and final assembling ofcourse!
Please, Tysy...No more finished product in the thumbnails. The anticipation of what the final product will look like is the best part (other than the sand blasting).
Yeah Exactley I dont know why he does that all of a sudden
Yeah!
Agreed. It just spoils everything.
Yep.
Yes. Save the money shot for the grand finale.
My favourite part I the explanation text. Watching you work is mesmerising, but understanding why you make certain choices is what makes this worth watching.
Great job restoring the SKELETON KEY 🔑 LOCK 🔒 !! I’m very impressed !!
Thank you !!
“Oh he’s gonna use paint strip-“
*literally scraps the paint off by hand*
.....I didn’t know we could do that
Bro right I was like omg
on a flat surface with paint in that condition you can
I'm surprised he didn't check for Lead paint first.
Maybe it didn’t matter in this scenario? I don’t know how it works tbh
@@ivychu3088 So long as he cleaned up well afterwards and wore a mask or something while he was scraping it's fine. The reason most people use the paint stripper is so that everything clumps together instead of getting fine lead paint particles all over the place. In this case the paint was degraded enough that it didn't matter, he could just scrape it off. You mainly don't want to breathe in or otherwise consume the paint chips, as they can cause lead poisoning which is no fun.
My favorite part is still the sandblasting. It's like magic. I'm sometimes find myself mesmerized by the effect.
I think the way you show the sandblasting is the best, because you clean the plastic window. Other channels have dirty, dusty windows. It obscures the image.
I really enjoy watching
powder-coating, too. A certain other channel that shows the powder coat as it cures in the oven. That is REALLY cool, especially when the coat changes color. TySy is the best restoration channel, in my opinion. I appreciate the time and effort you put into your projects. The extra effort shows. Thanks again, for sharing these videos. Keep up the great work!
Who the hell dislikes a restoration video? Yall are crazy.. this guy is great!

What more can i say. There is no one like you in the restoration game. 👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I love TysyTube
I love My Mechanics🥰 ( only the videos😅)
Any chance of a joint project between both of you?
maybe
*_Beatifull work my brother._*
Well, I love what you love...
I'm thinking about breaking into your shop just to change that capacitor myself
Whats that?
We’ve been nagging him to replace the starting capacitor for his wire wheel so it doesn’t have to be started with a finger spinning it. Easy fix for this talented fellow.
@@mred8002 I actually made a comment once, thinking very highly of myself for having both located the issue and provided a solution. Then I caught to the fact that half the people watching the channel know too...
"Mon dieu! I have been visited by the Capacitor Fairy!"
Lmk if ya need an accomplice
My first place after High School was a one room cabin I built in Montana, near Yellowstone. It didn't have running water, but I had a lock very similar to this one. I found it still in the original box it was shipped in during the 1920s. I restored it best I could (painted it with high-gloss black enamel) and used it as my primary lock for years. It even had the original key.
Super easy to pick, but full of all the best spirit of those who built our homes and towns before us.
Great video!
My favorite part is the before and after shots and when you make totally busted stuff work
Disassembling is really my favorite part. I can see how complicated - or not - is the device.
Me too some of these things l have never seen before
I wish this was one of those very glossy paints! That's so satisfying. Not loving the wallpaper on this
Agreed. Wallpapering it was just wrong.
Wallpaper. My goodness.- what was the thought process there?
People actually used to do that though. They'd wallpaper their room and then just go over the lock too. I'm not saying it was ever a good idea, but it was done.
Definitely the "Sand Blaster" 🙂👍!!!
Favorite part of restoration videos is probably the sandblasting. It’s hypnotizing to watch and the sound is soothing. ASMR I guess. Lol.
Loved the results, I think next time you should try etching a design into something or nickel playing it. Would be cool good job tho.
Yeah, as well as bloody amount of work ;)
Though looking at thumbnail I wondered if it's painted that way :)
I have three favorite parts:
When the Rust is removed
Sandblasting
Painting
My favorite is filing/sanding. I love the sound of filing/sanding.

The sandblasting, painting and seeing it all polished up....ohhh yeah and the hammering sped up, I love that sound!
My favourite part is ALWAYS the sandblasting. SOOO satisfying
Seeing the finished item work the way it was meant to work is my favorite part.
I love your vids cuase they're nice and calming with no loud music, and the restorations always come out beautiful.
I absolutely agree!! And i personally love the sound he produces too, like if they 're asmr sounds☺️
I love the rebirth of the the projects through the sand blasting...
What I like is no music and no talking. Once the host gets chatty I leave. I like the 'silence' of just the tools. I find it very soothing. Thank you 😊😊 🇱🇨🇱🇨
That idea of the wall paper is just... absurd.
I would say "eccentric"
I know! The only thing I could focus on the whole time was that gross wallpaper. It's really tacky. I'm no trying to hate on him or anything, but...
Right. I mean why go through all that trouble to sand it off to make it shiny just so he would wallpaper it?
@@RelaxPeaceClub it may as well be brand new hardware since we can't even see the original surface anymore, and the paper surface will surely be harder to maintain than the original metal which can be cleaned or touched up as needed
I think it fits in with the who art deco vibe, with the handle and that
My favorite part is seeing old rusty parts being buffed to a high shine on the wheel
The sandboxing part of the video is therapeutic!
I really like the paper added. It looks so 1950s detective mystery.
i love when you sandblast the items its so satisfying
The decorative paper part was incredibly creative, really...
Your a modern day REMBRANDT. Your amazing.
My favorite parts of your videos are the sounds of dismantling the items😍😍😍
Turned out very “Great Gatsby”-like ❤️
If you like this style, it's named "Art Deco" ;)
I actually love the wallpaper on this. Awesome design. Great job!
My favorite part is the sandblasting. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
My best part of your restorations is either sandblasting so satisfying or when you put it back together and it looks like new
my mechanics: **Restores a broken lock**
TysyTube Restoration: **Also restores a broken lock**
my mechanics: *I love you*
This is like that time the try guys randomly met binging with babish on the street
Look closely at 00:20 and 13:25. He doesn't insert the key fully at first, then holds it at an angle to pretend it doesn't work. The lock was fully functional all along, it wasn't broken.
I imagine my mechanics saying it like Patrick does in that one episode of sponge Bob
Переведите кто-нибудь, я не понял шутку.
@@20catsRPG Yeah, aferisto and thats all!
Something I thought of when they scraped the paint off: I think it would’ve been easier to simply put paint stripper on it. Just a thought
also that old paint is 100% sure to contain lead
83hjf Ohhhhhh, that makes sense I never thought about that. Thank you for telling me that!
I was thinking of my 4 inch Scotchbrite paint removal disks on my grinder would make quick work of that, but remembered lead would be everywhere. Paint stripper is a good idea.
I advocate paint stripper for two reasons:
1. As TYSY stated -- it keeps the sandblasting media cleaner.
2. Note comment of 83hjf -- I agree with that statement.
He said in one video that he hates paint stripping and asked for alternatives. So maybe it's just his preference in this case
The most enjoyable part of the restoration process is watching you put everything together, back where everything belongs. I'm usually lost by that time.
I loved sandblasting and paint scraping the most... but I LOVE the entire video. Thank you for sharing.
You asked what my favorite part is. Strangely enough it's the polishing and finishing. I especially like that you file off all the casting marks, which is something that I do as well
Doing my job, 19 397 likes left till the new capacitor
My favorite part are the sandblasting and the epoxy restoration. Beautiful handwork.
Watching TysyTube and enjoying a fine home-made double martini ... heaven!
Lol, that looks like door lock used in Harry Potter Gringotts bank ☝️😆
I'm always impressed that you remember how to reassemble your projects.
All he has to do is watch himself on video taking it apart!
My favorite part is the sandblasting because it is soooooooo satisfying!
That paint removal was satisfying AF.
I don’t really understand the whole bluing it, then priming and paint, then wallpapering it. Would’ve look good as polished metal.
KenTheTrul I agree; why all the meticulous restoration to cover it with shaggy cut wall paper.
I also agree, sort of. I would prefer the polished look myself but it's his project and his artistic expression. Or, it may be a consignment piece and the owner wanted it that way to match their decor.
Because he’s restoring it. To him that means the way he found it. Not the way it was manufactured. If you don’t like that don’t watch his videos
Stan Shearer He states he found it at a flea market and he’s doing it to go on display. Read the description of the video.
Blueing keeps it from rusting
Here we go again) THANKS For Video! With love from Russia!
It looks like a work of modern industrial art.
Sandblasting is definitely the favorite part of restoration 👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻
My favorite Part is, when you start the Bench Grinder. Every time I think in the same Second: You need a new Start Capazitator.
"decorative paper for walls"
You mean wallpaper? O_o
That would have been too easy to type.
I just gave up the video on that part.
Friendly Fire
Imagine how good he is at gift wrapping 😂
English isn't his first language
nah he meant decorative paper for locks :)
Sandblasting and final look of the object are sooo satisfying to watch!
My favorite part is the sandblasting because it's so satisfying.
I so so love this show! I watch it every day! My favorite parts are taking things apart!
Like your videos. However, the wallpaper was just wrong for this restoration.
Thank you! I felt the same way, dude! Brass or not.. wallpaper on such a old thing? ... Naa!
Gotta try new things every now and then :-D
I totally agree! I was like WTF IS THAT!
Favorite part of the restoration videos; sandblasting. Oddly satisfying.
Молодец, золотые руки, дарить вещам вторую жизнь это целое искусство!!!
I find the paper cover very odd. Maybe it's a French thing, because here in America, exposed metal look is preferable on those old locks.
My favorite part of The videos is sand plasting...
My favorite part of the restoration videos is DISASSEMBLING AND ASSEMBLING
My fav part is sandblasting, the hubby loves polishing and blueing…… we look forward to those parts!! Please post more videos, we are running out of content!!! 😁😁
Favorite part: Seing how things are put together when they are taken appart.
Would have definitely liked it more if it wasn't covered in wallpaper
The wall paper gives it a very nice art deco look. Favorite part of the video is when I get to see you use all of your skill and expertise to restore these peices to there former glory
Things I like about these videos:
1. The background silence. No music, no voiceover.
2. When you introduce the object to be restored or sometimes a tool, the thud it makes against the work surface.
3. Challenging disassembly, to see how you work out the solution in terms of logic and tools.
4. Sandblasting of course.
5. The finished result, especially compared to what you started with, those back and forth jump cuts, the 360 views, the rolling into frame of something on wheels.
6. The slow, thorough pace of the video. It’s not rushed so we see and understand and learn from each step in the process. And there is plenty of time to read the explanatory text. The fast-forwarded repetitive sections are great too! That fast-forwarded hammer is especially enjoyable to listen to.
But my FAVORITE bit is the powder coating! I like watching it bake and change color, but I may be thinking of a different channel. If you don’t film that part, please do!
6- i do
@@TysyTube Haha, perfect!
Favourite part: Definitely the sand blasting !!
Salut, toujours aussi agréable de regarder vos vidéos, la meilleur partie pour moi, c'est de découvrir ce que les objets ont "sous le capot". Merci pour le partage et bonne continuation, à la prochaine vidéo !
He's a Romanian gypsy and has no idea what you just said.
Everyone's favorite is the sandblasting, and the electroplating... making new labels polishing ..... some of the little tricks of the trade...geez, I guess everything..😊
AND....making new parts, screws, nuts on the lathe.
My fav part is when you proudly present the result after all the work
At least you dont need to make a new key like MyMechanics 😅
Honestly I think he'd have done this resto better.
Wall paper and glue ?......No
My Mechanics saw the house, and said, "I make a new one". It hovers...
My Mechanics and Tysy need to get together for a video!
Bam Srosier mymechanics is on a different level than every other CZcams “restorer”. Quoted because making new doesn’t really qualify as restoration.
@@MikeL-FL finally someone said it.. don't get me wrong I love my mechanics but restoring things is the best way to go about it. It keeps the character in the object only replace or make a new one of something that absolutely can't be restored
Although a cool look I really don't see the paper holding up over time......gonna be a D- for that alone.
And there's paper on the side that would be attached to the door itself.
I think it is not for use. A shelf thing to look at and admire.
It's an interior lock. I've seen locks - even entire doors - that were wallpapered to blend in with the room. Not super common, but not rare, either, especially with Art Deco - like the paper TysyTube chose here.
At first I din't like the wallpaper use idea, but if it is a display piece.... well it looks great.
TheRealColBosch thank you! I had major concerns for it as an exterior lock, but for an interior one it’s a whole nother ball game! I would totally have this in my house! I also don’t understand what the blueing adds, what does that do? But I think it looks great and I’m sure he gets bored of simply polishing things, this must have been a fun change! X
The fav part of whole video is sand blasting 🤩
Merci Tysy!!! 💛💛💛💛
No one else seems to be questioning the fact he stuck wallpaper on a bloody lock......crazy.
I liked it as it's Art Deco, and I adore Art Deco.
Thought it was an April fool joke at first
Holy cow. My grandma back in Iran had one of those on her house door.
It was common in France too, mostly with brass keys.
I love it when you sand blast it, and scrape the paint off. Then when you paint it. My favourite part is when you apply the Black Magic Blueing on it
I like the sandblasting it's extra therapeutic to watch 😊❤️
Save those leaded paint chips. They go great with french onion dip. :)
Your son Bart eats paint chips
i love to see the work with files
Sandblasting is my favorite part of the video 👍👍👍
Oh wow. From the thumbnail I thought you had etched the design into the lock. Very pretty
Favorite part for me is when you start the wheel with one finger 😂
7:16 he missed a spot while he was bluing the piece and now my anxiety is going nuts please someone tell me he went back and went over it
I love watching you sandblasting stuff and I love everything you do
My favorite part of this one was the black magic. I don’t know how it works but it’s cool watching it change colors!
You can’t replace the capacitor, you starting it is my favorite part.
