    • @ThePallidor

Now consider that in the context of what's happening now. Really think pharma's gonna give you something that makes sure you *don't* get sick? Rather than something that ensures you do? All about dat comeback.
This is also why the food and drug companies are joining forces, even merging, and the same agency that regulates the food also regulates the drugs. They have a well-oiled system for making sure they have plenty of customers for life, and they've put every ounce of PR and lobbying and "science funding" into making us all think it's the best thing ever.

Chris was half right. AIDS can be functionally cured nowadays. But yeah you have to take a drug cocktail for the rest of your life. Coming up with a cure for a viral infection actually makes perfect financial sense as long as you don’t eliminate the virus from the population entirely. If you have the cure you have no competition and there will be a steady supply of people who need it.

Well, maybe they don’t cure it, but I remember when it first came out, and at least it’s not an automatic death sentence anymore. And even when they DO come out with a vaccine, the anti-vaxxers will demonize it, by saying it’s poison, or it encourages SEX😱 in teenagers, gays, people in general, or whomever. We actually HAVE a vaccine for a certain type of cancer, but since a lot of the cases ARE sexually transmitted are the parents giving to their kids? Naw. Even though since time began people have been praying for a way to stop cancer🤷‍♀️. And since time began, no matter HOW rigid the ideals, punishments, outcastings, people, teens still are going to have sex.

If we ate 100% unprocessed foods from the earth, no sugar, minimal to no saturated animal fats, no weird chemicals and pesticides, and got regular exercise and adequate rest on a regular basis, we would DRASTICALLY reduce our chances of getting sick. But that takes tremendous discipline and most people are lazy and would rather have a doctor “cure” them while they continue to eat poison and sit on their ass, instead of taking responsibility for their health.

So true. I've had both friends and family who went into Big Pharma with high hopes....and were left bitterley disappointed with an industry that quite frankly couldn't give a shite about you or your health. In fact some have gone as far as to say the main goal of Big Pharma is actually to keep everyone ill, not make everyone better. But you try telling most people that...It IS COMMON SENSE that people will not want to lose money....and it is common sense that curing diseases rather than permanently treating them will lose someone money.....So why oh why oh why would any company ever want to cure anything.....They wouldn't...And when you realize that you can start to take back your health.

I am not saying anything about a college education...I have my B.A. degree. I'm just saying...most of Chris Rock's brilliance is stuff that is absolutely true yet he has a way of hyperbolizing it for laughs. This is scary how accurate it is.

Curtistine Miller Heart disease, diabetes, even some cancers are lifestyle diseases.
