Filmed on 3/1/21, this video shows how to complete the removal of the glove compartment and expose the top of the air box. Viewers will be able to open the air box and replace the air filter.
The 30mm cannon is a magnificent weapon system. So much so, the USAF said, let's build an airplane around it! The A-10 was born. Well, Honda said, this air filter is AWESOME! Let's build a motorcycle around it!!! And the 2018 Goldwing was born. LOL
You’re a champ for getting that deep into the bike. Thanks for showing us all how much is involved. I think I will enjoy the 16000 miles I have to put on my bike and not think about getting into that mess. Just yet!
I wasn't looking forward to doing the air filter the first time on my 2004, but with a patient methodical approach it was pretty straightforward. I can do it in less than an hour these days. Instead of making easier on the 2018+ Honda has made it worse. Hats off to you my friend. Pinch a cup cake tray from the kitchen for all the screws, bolts, rivets and fasteners to keep them grouped in order.
Jesus! I had the dealership replace my air cleaner for free while they were replacing a broken body panel seat clip under warranty. Looks like I made the right call!
Great video. I wish it would have had the tear down and all the rebuild included. I think it is ridiculous people charge for help videos these days. Thank you for showing this much
I love my 2018 DCT Tour, but the air filter replacement freaks me out. I want to do it myself, because I don't trust the kids at the dealership, but this is truly intimidating. I miss my old CB 750. It had the air box under the seat, held together with four Phillips-head screws. I could change the filter during my lunch break and still have time to eat a sandwich.
I did my 2006 Honda Goldwing myself as well. A lot of hardware and body parts. I opted to install the K&N Air Filter due to the design to cut down on the 15,000 mile intervals.
Did this same exercise on my DCT Airbag which adds other complexities. One recommendation that works well is to lay out all the Tupperware with the associated hardware in a clockwise pattern around the garage. Being a little anal here can save a lot of aggravation while speeding up reassembly when you reverse the process.
I have personally visited most of the Caribbean islands ,and was amazed that most of the vehicles dropped off there have never had any maintenance ,until 150,000 miles

Honda needs to invent a slide in/out filter holder. That is crazy!!

WOW...I think I'm going to go out into the garage and give my gl1500 a big hug.🤗 And I will never complain about maintaining her ever again.🤐
Great job buddy, you're a brave man. You have convinced me to go to the dealer for this service. Thank you.
It's probably easier to change the dilithium crystals on the Star Ship Enterprise. Good job though.
This video needs to be seen by all 2018+ Goldwing owners. It looks like a challenge, but I ride motorcycles. 🏍

Well done. Thanks for posting the video. It's really helpful.

As you may know, Traxxion Dynamics sells a set of machined seat bolts. Bushing, washer, bolt all in one. Nothing to drop.

Glad to see the robo vac ready to pounce on the first screw you drop 😂
Wow, that is crazy! I just bought one of these 2018 GW manual bikes, and this is silly! Wow, you get a sub for all your hard work. Thank you!
Good video I'm working slowly doing mine to change my air filter
Nice job Spencer.
