Hi John. Your video was very helpful in guiding me on removing the seat so I could install the 2nd USB connector in the left saddlebag. Really a pretty easy and straight forward task thanks to you and a few others who posted video/instructions on parts of the process. Thanks very much. Rob

Great video, conley950..I wonder if I need to remove the side panels to get the seat of my 2018 non tour Gold Wing...I am planning on. adding an oem backrest, and I know i will need to remove the seat. Video gets a sub from me. Thanks in advance!
Don't put WD40 on rubber, better to use a smear of silicone of rubber grease. Apply the same to the spigots on the side panels that insert into the grommets.
john, what is the name of the driver back rest you have on that red goldwing? I want to get a backrest for my bike. Does that one have an easy way to take it off and put it back on? quick detach?
That one is a Utopia. They od make a quick detach model. Their are many makes of backrests that have a quick disconnect option. Its a personal choice as to what fits you best and what look you are going for.
This is the most stupid design ever to remove a bike seat. Why ???why ???why, Honda? I love this bike but why ? Look at the seat removal on the K1600 B or Grand America. In regards to the aluminum sleeves on each side, I epoxyed them and done !!! I also metal epoxy the washers to the bolts.... LOL. No more headaches.

Can you believe I had to watch this video again months later because I forgot what I was doing the first time.

Very Helpful video! Do you find the stock seat to be very comfortable on long rides or do you need a better seat like a corbin?

Yes, the passenger seat and backrest has it's own heating controls.
