The depression on Eclipsa’s face before she notices Star talking to her. Can we acknowledge the fact that she killed her own daughter for a kingdom that didn’t even accept her until they knew she was the rightful queen. Not to mention the amount of sadness in her voice when she responds to star about her wand. You can just see the amount of brightness in her eyes when she finds Meteora as a baby again and still alive. What hits harder is the fact she has a new chance to be with her daughter all over again and treat her right. I can’t help but tear up at the fact that Meteora will now have a life with her mom by her side and experience true parent love along with happiness.
Something tells me she knew meteora wouldnt die.

I think for a moment, Star was only gonna let her keep it because she thought Meteora died. She panicked when she realized she was alive
yeah I realised that by watching this video. Didn't pay attention while watchign the entire episode.
I noticed that the first time I saw it, but only now I notice that not even eclipsa expected that her daughter could survive that spell
But Star doesn't deserve the wand because she's not royalty.
I noticed that. It's sad. I feels like Star was trying to do the right thing as usual, righting her family's "wrongs" (since blame falls almost entirely on the Commission and Shastacan & the new Butterflies had no idea) and repay Eclipsa for all she has gone through, especially in spite of everyone including Star seeing her as a villain.
And in that moment of pity, naivety and righteousness - she gave away her family, her kingdom's most precious heirloom just like that to the renegade dark queen... not expecting Meteora to come back to life(which meant that Eclipsa now had an heir to pass it onto), much less Eclipsa just taking off with it and never seeing it again.
Like, wtf. I know Eclipsa might need the wand to cook up more OP spells and defend her family from the High Commission - but she's not the one with the responsibility of caring for Mewni! God knows how Star's going to raise her next in line and so on to be competent successors to protect the kingdom without the wand?? Hello??? She's went through so much for her family, friends and Mewni, and in trying to do the right thing she may have screwed her family and kingdom hardcore.
@@irisdxscent Yes she does - she's much more royalty than Eclipsa or Meteora at least, because Eclipsa definitely abdicated both their rights to the throne by running from her duties (no matter how justified the reasons or how wrongfully demonized she was for monster love and dark magic) with intents of eloping with Globgor and Meteora. (Meteora was raised in the Monster Temple nursery - meaning she was not left behind to be a successor to the throne and wand)
Afterwards, Meteora, despite her true Butterfly blood, as a bastard born out of wedlock to a monster and an abdicated Queen - and could be physically dangerous if given the wand and also politically dangerous due to all-time high monster-Mewman tensions at the time, was given away.
In her place, Star's line was newly appointed - no matter how amoral - by the remaining members of royalty in power, and have demonstrated much more loyalty to defending Mewni from evil than Eclipsa or Meteora ever did - at least from what we know at this point.
The wand belongs to the Butterfly family to protect Mewni - Eclipsa lost rights to that when she left her duties for selfish desires and as a result affected her own daughter's name to royalty as well.
Trying to imagine the devastation Globgor felt as his family was ripped away from him. His last pose before he was crystalized was that of rage. His daughter was given away and his wife was imprisoned. Once he's freed, how is he gonna react?
I think Eclipsa can probably keep him in line. She obviously didn't want Mewni destroyed and was even willing to kill her daughter to stop the madness. If her hubby tried the same, she would stop him, no doubt.
True. But I can't help fear that Globgor may go nuts. Like get manipulated by an unseen villain. Or something like that.
According to the book of spells he's a very chill guy, and actually wanted to make peace between monsters and mewmans
...I'm going to assume not with cupcakes and rainbows. However if he does keep his chill then Mewni could be one step closer with Stars help to be on even ground with Monsters.

I think my favorite line is when Star says that “it’s only fair to return what my family stole from you”. It wasn’t JUST THE WAND, she never cared for it or the throne. The only thing Eclipsa wanted was HER FAMILY. Her husband Shastican kidnapped her baby and replaced her with a foundling, encasing her in crystal alone for years.

Eclipsa's expression was so genuine. She thought she had killed her daughter for the kingdom that hated her for loving a Monster and meddling with dark magic, but she was still willing to give back the wand that was stolen from her family.
I wish the actual finale was as good as this one

I believe that Globgor is actually a nice,kind and mostly a misunderstood monster.The reason maybe he is standing like he is about to attack is because Eclipsa was with him after running away with her baby.The MHC discoverd where she was and forced her to come with them so they could punish her,and Globgor got angry.Ten they took Meteora to king Shastacan and you know the rest.

1:59 I know people think this moment was when Eclipsa revealed herself to be "the bad guy" but i'm sorry i think this was her giving her husband the ol "bedroom eyes"look. I really doubt she'll become a villain, she's selfish yes, but i think she's fed up with Mewni's hierarchy and way of life and just wants to be with her family, even if she kept the wand Star was right, it's still hers and it was taken away from her and given to someone who wasn't in her blood line. plus the next season may show us now how Star has to use magic without the wand the same way Meteora used magic without it. this might just be something Star can use to grow

Actually, Star is royal by blood. All Mewni kings are royal to some extent, often the younger sibling to the heir of another kingdom, so Star is definitely no peasant.

If this was some sort of scheme by Eclipsa, I would say that so far we can only guess that she concocted this scheme to possibly expose the Magical High Commission, find out what happened to Meteora, and reunite with her love, Globgorb. When she found out that Meteora was still alive she might have been determined to bring her back to her father so that they could all be together. Eclipsa doesn't want the throne of Mewni, otherwise she would have just taken it the moment she had the wand.
Eclipsa may just want justice for what the Mewmens of the Past (i.e. King Shasticat and the Magical High Commission) did to her and her family. And really, who could blame her? I guess the only right way to go about the how is determined by how Eclipsa may want to deal with the people who hurt her and her family.

I felt it would have been a lot better if they’d stayed best friends but at that point there was already to much romantic build up between them, so… yeah. I dont exactly know if I want a reboot, but there were def a lot of way season 4 could’ve been better.
I think they could have had the START of Star and Marco being together. But there's a long time between starting to date and deep love, and they shoved all that time into a few months 😢

I think Black Velvet Inferno is not a spell that turns someone into a baby, that would be very specific. If Eclipsa prepared the spell to neutralize Meteora in case shes gone rogue, that would not be the case since she doesnt even know what happened to her after she was crystalized. Eclipsa also seems legitly sad after casting the spell and shocked to see Meteora in form of a baby.
My opinion is that Black Velvet Inferno is a spell that realises someone's true nightmare. That would fit more with Eclipsa's style of "dark" magic. In this case, Meteora biggest fear would be a baby, or her childhood perhaps, bcs she was isolated from her real parents and she was forced to suppress her Butterfly magic and monster-like physique.

No. It was confirmed by the creators that eclipsa’s spell did exactly what she intended to do. Turn meteora into a baby. Had it went wrong, it would’ve killed her.

A perfect reaction to finding that the powerful half Monster is alive and their mother who was the only one to kill them is now the Queen.
Can I just gush how much I love these last two minutes? So many things just came together here, between the music, the characters, the entire season as a whole, etc.

If I knew a year ago that after all that, season 4 Finale would end up like this, I would've cried more
With everything that happened in the final season I really think they should of had something focused on Eclipsa, Globgor and Meteora reuniting and then maybe having Toffee come back and Eclipsa needing Star to help her fight back against him. Then, in the end, Eclipsa sees how much potential Star has (being the main character) and returns the magic wand to her; making her princess/queen again before Eclipsa heads off with her family for some peace and quiet.
Mewni is saved, Star gets to be with Marco, etc. etc.
The magic isn't killed, Moon isn't a traitor, there's no war or crazy Mina, no one dies (other then maybe Toffee) and we have a happy ending.
The real ending of Star vs was just... uck.

People say eclipsa is selfish, but I beleive Eclipsa would have a right to be selfish. They took away her daughter and imprinsed her and her love because she didnt see monsters as evil and fell inlove with one. Ngl i would not have been upset if she let out all of her anger instead she killed her daughter to protect a kingdom that deemed her evil because she beleived monsters were good.
This show was going somewhere but it took a last minute turn and 1 hell of a crash.

Really nice scene that displays a great deal of emotion. Eclipsa goes from depressed at the thought that her child is no more to pure joy, when she sees her daughter is alive and has a chance to start over again and raise her kid with the love and care she deserves.
Star also shows a good deal of emotion in this scene. She shows empathy and gratitude towards Eclipsa for saving her and everyone else. Star knows how painful it was for Eclipsa to go against her daughter and seemly destroy her to save a kingdom that had treated her poorly. Star also decides to give Eclipsa the wand and throne since they rightfully belong to her, which was really sweet.

I really think Star will meet Eclipsa again in Season 4 but they'll still be on great terms. If you're interested I have a theory, hear me out: Star said she was 'giving her power to Meteora', then Star was pretty much out of juice after that ... I think it was Star's power that saved the innocent part of Meteora! I think this happened:
Meteora was sucking the essence of Princesses for years to preserve her own youth, then started eating the souls of the villagers, wildlife, etc to gain power (this is what I think). So if Eclipsa's spell to set the most recent ones free and remove the ones she'd been using for longevity ... I dunno it just seems like Meteora should've died without them.
We all saw Eclipsa's expressions throughout, she knew what Black Velvet Inferno would do when she cast it! Then her face when she heard Meteora crying and when she saw her daughter was 'reborn', up until that point she had believed that Meteora was gone ... that or Eclipsa is one hell of an actress!
Eclipsa even thanks her! So I honestly think Star helped here, and I hope she stays on good terms with Eclipsa in Season 4 🌟🌟🌟Globgor on the other hand ... I think he is, after reuniting with his wife and daughter, gonna be *royally* peeved at what has been done to his family!

2:02 The emotion and position of Eclipsa's monster love Globgor is very alarming, as in, it looks like he was fighting someone. I don't think he was protecting Eclipsa. This makes me wonder the personality and intentions for Globgor. Was he really in love with Eclpisa or did he want Mewni? I hope Eclipsa's love for him won't blindside her if Globgor is very demanding. Great season finale but with the amount of questions left hanging in the air there has to be a season 4.

I know this is a stab in the dark but... What if this was Eclipsa's plan all along? It was established that she can get into peoples minds and be very manipulative. So why not befriend the royal family to: A) find her estranged daughter B) Recover her wand/power and C) using said power to release her lover. Wouldn't be surprised if they were possible villians in the next season.
Vilheim Bond This was NOT Eclipsa's plan. She didn't want to "kill" her daughter, but she had to stop Meteora in her tracks. Star and Eclipsa thought Meteora was dead, but she wasn't. Star let Eclipsa keep the wand because it was hers by blood and right.
With the way the season ended, you'd think Globgor was gonna be more important then he ended up being in Season 4. Instead he spends most of the season as furniture and only two episode where he's a character (The one with Rhombulas and the one with the Spiderbites don't count cause it's just talking about him). I wish he was released earlier maybe like three episodes in...or as it's been hinted in early storyboards of this episode freed here.

I think I know why Eclipsa's spell didn't kill Meteora. In previous episodes it was revealed that Meteora, aka, Miss Heiness used princesses' life force as a method for immortality. I believe with all that youthful energy she collected over the years overpowered the spell, preventing her from actually dying.

I always really respected Star in this show, especially after she realized her family was in the wrong about a lot of things, and just wanted to make up for everything that her family did and it really shows with how she she basically gave Eclipsa her family back after it was stolen from her.

Did Eclipsa know Meteora would turn back into a baby? She could've been crying cause she felt bad about making Meteora forget everything she went through. And the MHC usurped the Queendom, Star shouldn't feel responsible.

I feel like this could have been the perfect place to end the show. Star is in a great relationship, the throne is returned to its rightful ruler, and there is hope for the future. Too bad they decided to go in a…different…direction for the actual ending.

I honestly hate that the show made Star vilify her family for what happened with Eclipsa when Festivia was just as much a victim in the High Commissions plot as Eclipsa and Meteora. Festivia was a literal baby when they gave her the throne. It's not like she took it by force. And imagine being in her shoes, growing up and being told that the woman they told her was her mother turning her back on her to run off with the monster that ate the man she thought was her father. I can't imagine that being good for a child.
Honestly, going back and rewatching certain scenes, it's clear that this show has a lot of plot points that don't make sense and definitely should have been done differently. Most of them having to do with Star and her selfish choices.

Eclipsa thought she lost everything but star told her she would give everything back to her and surprisingly the first thing or should i say someone she got back is her daughter and this her chance to be a mother again.
You know, in hindsight, wouldn't it have been more beneficial for everyone if Eclipsa became the queen of monsters (since there's technically no one occupying the throne) while the Butterflies stay the rulers of mewmans, and they tried to make amends so both nations could rebuild and live in peace....?
