Eclipsa is surprisingly calm and kind despite how horribly she's been treated..
Yeah and she could have escaped many times....but she didnt run!!!!
She even attacked her own daughter in order to SAVE the same people who call her evil.
Nikol Ert she didn’t attack her daughter to save people, she attacked her daughter to save her daughter.
Eclipsa strikes me as the sort who thinks of things incredibly long term or from from a somewhat detached point of view. With the possible exceptions of the Magical High Council, her ex-husband, and maybe whoever arranged said marriage, she doesn't seem to bare anyone any grudge because doing so would be wasted energy on her part and serve no end goal. She gets much more from those around her by being pleasant, calm, and patient. She has more reason to hate the MHC to the very depths of her soul for the shit they put her through; but she treats them with at best indifferent respect (though she's not afraid to mock them), and at worst; righteous anger. Pretty sure she'd blow Shastacan away first chance she got if he was still alive though.

Maybe she was manipulative and always scheming something in the backround in like the first couple eclipsa episodes in season 3, but she has become more genuine and open the more she talked with ppl like star, moon, maybe marco??

what if i told you that Eclipsa wait it for 300 years to meet star and that all was part of her plan and that star is wolf in sheep's clothing and funny thing star was a shrewd and wanted to know Eclipsa good because she read the book and she knew an eclipsa thought from the beginning and the fact why star visited eclipsa is to see if she could be considered a good ally for her plan +star did pretend that she dont know who is G L O B G O R E but she do and she wanted the same thing as Eclipca but for bigger goal

@@fangchick93 Star likes to play the role of the slut but unfortunately someone who thinks well and does nothing without thinking but pretends to be messed up to hide this fact, and I like to remind you that star has collected signatures of the heirs of all the kingdoms on the law to prevent the abuse of monsters and give them rights and on the other hand she have set up a ceremony in which she inherited some kingdoms with some monsters and to create reconciliation and clarify how everyone is similar and do not forget the fact that the monsters trust star and are ready to fight for it and because of the agreement that took place between all the heirs of the kingdoms star and in one way or another force Everyone has to recognize the monsters and their rights and therefore they have created a climate for eclipsa family

Eclipsa is like the cool aunt/big sister figure we all need. She doesn’t strike me as manipulative or misleading - she’s willing to listen to Star, helps her figure out what it is she really wants, and encourages her to go for it. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
Tecnically she is like her grandmother
we all know Star and Eclipsa are not related but despite, they both have similar things together like how goofy they are. Its really cute to see them bond as if they were really family.

@@sandersGG I know that River is actual royalty, but as the series shows the reason why Star believed that her life was a lie is because she learned that she's not even blood related to the Butterfly family and it's because of that she thought that she didn't deserve her title as a princess.
For me they're a family. Related or not.

The moment that speaks to me the most is that moment right before she says "No sweetie, I'm not." There's something about that pause and the way her voice drops that feels slightly heartbreaking for me.
She really wanted nothing more than for Star to be her granddaughter.
However, Eclipsa still loves and cares for Star like family.
Eclipsa looks so sad when she has to tell Star they aren't related that tells me she really cares about Star :) Evil or not Eclipsa is one of my fave characters she's just so interesting and her magic is AMAZING I've always had a thing for dark magic
Eclipsa has proven that even though she has a past, she's really a good woman. and now that she's been given a second chance hopefully she'll do more good and raise Meteora right.
Although she didnt even do anything bad in the past
The only bad things she did was do unorthodox things that the magic high commission thought of as wrong. She had a go with the flow nature. Even when she was imprisoned, she had a smile on her face.

she didn’t do anything wrong though. Her spells were darker and more dangerous, but that doesn’t make them wrong. Plus, her and Globgor had the right idea, of peace.
Eclipsa is doing a good job raising meteora so far I mean she has like twenty years left or however long half mewman half monster years it is for her to become an adult

It's so calming
Eclipsa was easily the most well-rounded, relatable character in this show, dare I say the best. Her arc through the entire thing was fantastic, and Esmé Bianco does a fantastic job portraying her. Really sucks that the show dropped the ball so hard in the last season.
At least she was one of the few characters who didn’t get absolutely gutted into trash writing (Rip for Moon). I think thats what really ended up saving her, hence why she’s my favorite character.
I used to love Star because I related to her but as time went on she just complained and acted like a mean and sarcastic teenager honestly. (I can understand why, but she would tell people off for things she did in the past and it rubs me wrong when she tries to ride a high horse.)
I kind of feel like the whole Eclipsa storyline would've worked much better if they had used the whole Mina plotline as the finale to season 3 and saved Meteora as the finale villain.
When she first showed up, you really couldnt tell if she was actually nice, or just playing a role. I loved how they slowly unraveled her history and character.
The moment she turns her daughter back into a baby always makes me cry a little
To think of all the time she missed with her daughter, and the fact that she’s able to repeat all of that (whereas it wouldn’t be possible in real life) is just so heartwarmingly bitter-sweet
All those years of suffering between the both of them, and it’s almost as though none of it ever happened..
Actually, that spell was suppose to kill Meteora, she survived because of the magic power that Star gave her.
Headcannon: Glossaryc was genuinely damaged after Star found him until Eclipsa factory reseted him with the head scratch she gave him, but kept pretending cause he wanted to see if they eventually guessed what he was saying.
Honestly believable, way more believable than him acting like that for even longer

Love the fact that eclipsa was basically misjudged through all the series... At first the characters really do they work on giving you that scary creepy image of eclipsa, but after she awakens, the more you know about her, the more you feel sorry for her...

Eclipsa really inspires me. She is very calm and Zen about struggles which always make the people struggling feel more peaceful. I want to be like that and so do many others. I learn from her.
I love how she isn't just straight up evil or good.
She knows some things she does can be bad, like she said. "I've written plenty of more evil spells. Writing is rewriting, you know."
She admits that the spells she made can and are evil, but she doesn't care about what others believe her to be.
She just wants to test her limits. She wants to go as far as the path she chooses will take her.
I think Eclipsa is like a mother for Star, the relationship of her with Star is so cute!

I think Eclipsa was truly sad and sorry that she wasn't Star's Great something Grandmother. I feel like she did care for Star and did see her as a Granddaughter. I don't know what Eclipsa's end game is or whether or not that end game is "evil" or not but I think her grandmotherly feelings for Star are genuine. plus I think we are all forgetting the whole episode where Star was revealed to be as powerful as Eclipsa. obviously they mentioned this for a reason, but was that reason because they were going to end up fighting each other one day or something else? Maybe they were trying to hint at the fact that Star and Eclipsa were going to be a lot alike, or was it because Stars actions are going to one day reflect those made by Eclipsa.
I think the reason why was because they were going to show Star making things right with Eclipsa.
6:01 well by blood she isn’t. BUT by law she is! Think about it. When eclipsas ex-husband switched out the babies he technically adopted festivia. Making eclipsa her ex adopted mother. And since eclipsa is her ex adopted mother that makes any of festivia’s descendants her ex grandchildren. Therefore by law they are the heirs to the throne

Crystal Jam That’s not how monarchies work. Even if a king marries a queen , the queen is not in control in the event of the kings death because she does not possess any royal blood. The next ruler in line is the one with the most royal blood. Most likely the kings brother or uncle.

I find the scene where Star returns the kingdom only for the both of them to find that Meteora had been returned to her younger state so touching in a way I don't know how to describe. Star thinks that what she's returning is the kingdom, but in reality, it's Eclipsa's daughter.

Yes and no. Eclipsa was more of a funny aunt who gives good advises and teach her niece to explore things so you can learn it by yourself. While Moon can be overprotective with Star (Which caused Star to be a spoiled little princess from season one) she teaches Star discipline and good manners to be a competent queen.
Both Moon and Eclipsa are needed in Star’s life in order to achieve balance in her life.

I love eclipsa! Why do they think she’s evils? She didn’t do anything wrong! Well except the cheating on her husband part but otherwise she’s good!
She didn't cheat on him, Eclipsa was seeing Globgor long before whatshisname. her mother Celestia the Monster Carver found out Eclipsa was seeing the Prince of Darkness and in her will forced Eclipsa to be married to Sir Snootyface against her will. Eclipsa did absolutely nothing wrong and even at the end, still did what was right, even if she thought it would mean killing her own child. Eclipsa puts the kingdom before herself and that's why she's the best queen and was unfairly abused by both sides.

He became part of an arrangement between the Spiderbites and the Butterfly family to unite the two kingdoms in solidarity.
Shastacan met Eclipsa Butterfly at the Silver Bell Ball during the reign of Eclipsa's mother Queen Solaria. However, Eclipsa was repulsed by him, especially since she was already in a secret relationship with the size-shifting monster Globgor.
After Solaria's death and Eclipsa took the throne of Mewni, Shastacan and Eclipsa were married in accordance with Solaria's will, and Eclipsa grew even more disgusted by his presence. At first, Shastacan was aware that his and Eclipsa's marriage was only out of obligation to their respective kingdoms. When Eclipsa told Shastacan that she was in love with Globgor, he laughed at her, believing she was joking.
Eclipsa eventually abandoned Shastacan and the kingdom of Mewni in order to be with Globgor, as revealed in "Into the Wand" and "Butterfly Trap". Unpopular opinion, Eclipsa should never been queen.
I know sounds bad but let me explain.
I feel like Eclipsa's spirit was more like been in adventures and having a common family dinamic with Globgor and Meteora, instead of being in a castle full of rules and responsabilities.
Even if Moon was not from the royal family, I think she should have stayed as queen and granted Eclipsa her freedom, after all Eclipsa without her wand is not a menace.
Plus, in the rest of the show we saw she wasn't so happy with the idea of being a queen and rule a kingdom that judge her lifestyle and her actions and she wasn't a villain after all.

What I'm guessing is eclipsa was powerful and married who she wanted so the council thought she was evil and literally imprisoned her and took her daughter for no real reason did she kill anyone I don't think so all she did was explore other magic types you can't act like it doesn't exist the high council were clearly intimidated by eclipsa because she was powerful and followed her heart if I'm wrong someone please explain why eclipsa was imprisoned what reasons were there to be convinced she would be evil as in killing people or doing horrible things or abuse her power as queen
because she fell in love with, eloped with, and gave birth to a child from a monster. thats it, thats all. her magic was a non-issue...... it was the idea that the mewman royal family would be given over to the monsters theyve been fighting against that caused the coup.
