I loved this scene, the way he looks up at Lady Justitia, as if he's remembering everything she empowers, and then salutes her. The music kicked ass too.
This scene is not only redeeming, but rather clever from a narrative standpoint. Instead of “I am the law” and his understanding of the law as a rulebook, Dredd is confronted with a religious moment as he comes face to face with the spirit of the law. Not only is it a humbling experience and elicits a desire to serve the law from a sense of faith instead of logic, but it’s also the first true sign Dredd is growing as a person. Up to this point, Dredd has been accused of being something less than human in his actions and outlook on life. Now he’s starting to see something that makes him embrace his buried humanity.
I loved this movie. Stallone had some pretty solid movies including Demolition Man which was another classic. Favourite line still is “ I didn’t break the law...I am the law!!”
Don't know about anyone else but I really think that the theatrical version of the law line in the courtroom should have stayed. Home version: I NEVER BROKE THE LAW I AM THE LAW THEATRICAL VERSION: I'VE NEVER BROKEN THE LAW BECAUSE I AM THE LAW
"i do solemnly to uphold the laws of justice the laws of humanity the laws of the earth to defend the those that cannot defend themselves uphold righteousness uphold enforcement and respect and to always uphold ...the....LAW!!!!!!!".

“Justice…we never should have taken justice out of her hands…” 💀
In this moment Dredd realizes what true Justice stands for.

He was a terrible match as a Dredd character. URBAN was a spot on.

When I was a kid this scene taught me more about the Western justice system than any parent or teacher later in life :)
Dredd standing tall before lady Justice, the only redeeming scene in this movie.

Been looking for this o7
This is an inspiring scene
To enforce the Law !
I watched JD over and over in my childhood. I know it's stupid but I love it, and this scene is unironically wonderful.
I must be the only person on the planet prefering this Dredd from the 2012 one.
This dredd had many things the new one lack, like the world of mega city one, closer to blade runner..
Stallone was just "ok", as urban is spot on..
@@luisar5755 The city design is just STELLAR too, took them 6 months to create the whole thing...
@@markosgraveyard It shows, it was just a bad time for comic adaptarions..
Sylvester Stallone was so good at revenge movies
Mein Gott. My favourite scene at all.
The one good scene in this film.
RIP
I AM THE LAW
wish they make a movie based on Necropolis
