Knee Friendly Standing Strength Workout for Beginners & Seniors // 30 minute w/ dumbbells

- Welcome to this full body all standing strength training workout that is great for everyone including active seniors and beginners! There are no squats or lunges in this workout so you don't need to worry about modifying if you have troublesome knees. You may want a chair or nearby wall for balance support on a few of the moves.
You will love these fresh exercises that are all compound moves meaning we are working more than one body part at a time. This 30 minutes workout packs a lot in including a warm up and cool down. All exercises are set to a timer (45 seconds on, 15 off) so you can go at your own pace. Choose a dumbbell weight that works for you and maybe challenge yourself with a heavier set. Always start with lighter weights if you are unsure, or just starting an exercise program.
I'm using a set of 5 pound (2.25 Kg) and 8 pound (3.6kg) dumbbells from Alta Fitness. They are so soft on your hands, prevent calluses from forming and are antibacterial! They are by far the nicest and most luxurious weights I have ever used.

I just turned 70 and just found these workouts. I'm hoping they will help to improve my balance too.
great workout! loved the fact that the workout didn't consist of repetitive lunges and squats. Too hard on the joints now. Gentle workout but I felt like my muscles were working hard. Started over a month ago trying for 3-4 workouts a week. Appreciate the variety of workouts to choose from. Easy to dedicate 30 minutes to my fitness every day. Thank you!

I’m 27, 219 pound, and diagnosed with PCOS and hypothyroidism. I heard that strength is one of the best workouts for women with my conditions, and this workout has been great! Thankyou My rule is don't miss more than 2 days and try for everyday, so far it's working and i feel great. 62 and wanted to bring weight barring exercises into my life but not get injured and your workouts are perfect for that.

Darn you, now I have another favorite strength workout. Love the mix of weights. The last block with the bicep side knee lift was one I was looking for. I felt it on the side where the flab exist in the small of the back area. Best of all, 200 calorie burned. Now to do a half hour walk and get some my indoor steps in. You are fantastic.

This is, the workout I needed this morning. I had a minor scrimmage with the neighbor dog yesterday & woke up today with a stiff slightly bruised knee. Some ibprofen & ice helped a lot. Needless to say; Pun Intended LOL; I feel Great after this Knee friendly workout!

I love this workout! I have had knee problems my whole life, bur lunges actually have really helped to strengthen my quads, gluten, and surrounding muscles to the point where I have very little pain. So, I don't avoid squats, but this was a great total body workout. I love the harder workouts!! 70 years old and going strong here!

This was nice. I feel like I got a good workout without the frustration of not being able to do lunges. This was doable but a bit challenging. And being able to switch up the weights really helps.

Loved it! I would love more of these no squat no lunge strength workouts. I also liked the use of lighter weights an the length of time for this workout. Maybe a little longer by 5-10 minutes, but 30 is perfectly fine.

Oh, Lauren, I loved this workout! I haven't done it til now because my knees are fine (and I'm the crazy girl who LOVES squats!) but I discovered something SO important about my hip. When we were doing any lateral hip abductions, I could really feel how weak my left hip was & how good felt to get those muscles working. And it's my left hip that's been giving me trouble lately. The standing side hydrant move was AMAZING! It got so deep into my poor hip & felt so good! Anyhoo, thank you for the surprise hip breakthrough. I'm going to add those side abductions to your other workouts from now on. Also, noticed I can do extend arm lifts with 5 lbs instead of 2 lbs. now. I know that's still really light but I'm actually getting stronger! So progress! Yay! Thank you, Lauren!!!

This really helps with my overall strength. I believe at my age that I have sarcopenia ( my muscles are obviously smaller and weaker)and I do have (by diagnosis), osteopenia.
