    Leaky gut syndrome is not widely recognised by conventional medicine. It is a condition that all the time when I'm working with differ. Recognising the signs and symptoms of leaky gut can be pivotal in addressing underlying health issues and improving overall well-being.
    One common sign of leaky gut is strong food intolerances. You may experience sudden reactions to foods that you once tolerated well, such as bloating, gas, abdominal pain, or even headaches. These symptoms often arise due to increased intestinal permeability (aka leaky gut), leading to the passage of undigested food particles into the bloodstream and triggering an immune responses.
    Skin issues, including eczema, dermatitis, and rosacea, can also point to leaky gut. The gut-skin connection is well-established, with leaky gut playing a significant role in the development and exacerbation of various skin conditions. Identifying and addressing leaky gut can be crucial in effectively managing these issues as well.
    Another telltale sign is fatigue after meals.Brain fog, characterised by difficulty concentrating, memory lapses, and cognitive sluggishness, is common with leaky gut. The gut-brain axis plays a vital role in cognitive function, and disruptions in gut health can directly impact mental sharpness.
    Finally, autoimmune conditions often have underlying connections to leaky gut. Conditions like celiac disease and type 1 diabetes have been closely linked to intestinal permeability, highlighting the importance of addressing gut health in managing autoimmune disorders.
    Understanding the signs of leaky gut is only the first step. Identifying the root causes is essential for effective treatment and long-term health improvements. By addressing underlying factors such as diet, stress, medications, and gut dysbiosis, individuals can work towards restoring gut health and alleviating symptoms associated with leaky gut syndrome.

    Wow!! This video provides super helpful information. From what you've described, it sounds like I may be dealing with a leaky gut situation (as well). The skin issue indicator is a big telltale sign for me. ☹ Last year, (on top of my SIBO), I was diagnosed as celiac dominant -- which seems to be the driving force behind certain food intolerances, allergic triggers, and the histamine overload that I'm currently dealing with. What a time!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Praying I can get to the bottom of things. It has been quite frustrating -- and downright depressing, tbh. But thank you for helping us identify these 4 major signs or markers of leaky gut. It's a great starting point toward fixing the problem and hopefully restoring health.🙏 🙏❤ ❤

      Yes coeliac would definitely drive lots of gut issues for sure! So glad you got the diagnosis. Next step gut healing!

    Great vid. Thankfully leaky gut is easy to diagnose these days with a double Zonulin / I-FABP blood test. Lab costs here in Europe around €50, so a relatively cheap and effective way to rule that out.

    • @Ruktiet

      Best test is mannitol-lactulose tracer test. The blood tests are not very specific

    • @rundns
      @rundns Před 5 měsíci

      @@Ruktiet Not correct. The downside of lactulose mannitol traces in the urine was always that it produced lots of false negatives, undetected cases of easy cases of leaky gut because it is not sensitive enough. Zonulin - I-FABP have clear cutoffs. especially if tested in combination it gives you a clear picture about possible damage / disrutptions in tight junctions. It's the gold standard currently.

    I have these symptoms.. I am suspecting it is from intense exercise I do and stress. I have some digestion issues as well. I picked up some designs by health oregano oil (60mg per capsule) (36mg carvacrol and thymol from 60-75% carvacrol oregano oil) Do you think this Is this safe to take starting slow? Combined with a good diet? Thanks so much for your content

    Would really love to see a video on how you treat/support leaky gut? I recently had to stop my SIBO treatment beacuse of a flare up of skin issues of all kinds. But no fatigue, brain fog or anything else which seems weird. Can treating SIBO worsen leaky gut, while treating?

      hmm interesting. Serum zonulin isn't so available here in Australia. I have found stool zonulin to be quite reliable when compared to the lactulose mannitol urine testing and have seen that same story in the science too but I keep hearing this stool zonulin being unreliable. I'd love to learn more!
