- The UFL was formed when the USFL and the XFL merged. And there are big rule differences from the NFL. Let's explore.

Even when the XFL gets a second season, it doesn't get a second season.
At least we get spring football
Tru Tru but at least they have it so it's xfl conference vs usfl conference
Actually the XFL still kinda exists. It's a conference in the UFL now.
This would have been its third
@@Z64sports dont forget about 2001... The inaugural season of the xfl. Which means this year wouldve been their fourth season as a league, as it would be listed as: 2001, 2020, 2023
Really hope this league succeeds tbh, think the NFL would greatly benefit from having a stable development league, especially after QB play last season.
Same let's players that are too raw to draft to get reps and develop also we can see maybe lifers that can make the play more stable
It already has one, it’s called college
If the UFL is going to survive and thrive, it needs to be its own entity, not a "development league" for the NFL. The problem is, NFL GM's want to draft and develop their own players, and not give other guy's castoffs a real chance. Case in point, Alex McGough, third string quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. McGough was the USFL MVP for 2023, he gets invited in to the Packers camp as an extra body. He outperforms Jordan Love during camp and the pre-season, getting better numbers with the limited number of snaps he was given, yet he never had a serious chance of being on the Packers active roster. Why do you think that is? It's because the Packers' GM, Brian Gutekunst, doesn't want to look like an idiot for drafting Jordan Love. He desperately wants Jordan Love to succeed, thus he guarantees him the starting job and surrounds him with as much talent as possible.
McGough is a better quarterback than Jordan Love, but there is zero chance he will ever be the Packers starter. Zero, zilch, not a snowball's chance in Hell. This is why being a "developmental league" for the NFL is a loser business model.
Its a pendulum effect tho. every couple years defenses adjust to offenses and vice versa
@@tomcollins5112 - IDK man, Love really stepped it up in the 2nd half of the season.
Dude, in the UFL each coach only get ONE challenge per game... and that can be on anything called or not called. Rule 15 on page 112 of the UFL rulebook.
Yeah, he totally whiffed on that.
Can't expect a bald man-child with a superiority complex to read every single rule.
That Pass Interference Penalty Change is SO underrated. I'm sick of offenses basically having a copout to get down the field quickly.
That’s literally the rule in every other level of football except the NFL. I agree though, I think it’s weird that a team could all of a sudden be at the 1-yard line all because one player put his hands at the wrong places.
The problem is that pass interference would be encouraged. If a WR is 49 yards down the field, the defender might as well get the PI call
I understand why the NFL has the rules they do but I wish they had 2 levels of PI. I.e spot foul for flagrant infractions (basically PI that actually stops a pass) or maybe a 10 yard penalty for more incidental PI
@@AlexanderJordan-sv7nmThat’s an idea that makes a lot of sense.
If it was only 15 yards in the NFL then a defender would try to get penalized every time if he got beat instead of giving up a big play. The NFL made it a spot foul because it would happen all the time otherwise.
Damn, I like all the UFL's rules except the extra point one. I like the idea of kickers being able to find a rhythm and warm themselves up by kicking for one. The 2 point and 3 point things sound great, keep that, but allow 1 point kick extra points too please
But the rules adds more ability for teams to comeback
It's gonna be lite, a good football alternative in the spring, and also not talking about taylor Swift travis kelce
Kurt Warner played in NFL Europe before bagging groceries
Actually he bagged groceries before being signed to an arena football team, then he played in NFL Europe.
I see this league going for a very long time.
Awesome video once again my man
The #UFL is gonna be dope
We are United by Spring football #UFL
The Dan Campbell Jokes had me dying!!!!!!!!
There's not unlimited challenges in the UFL. The coach actually only get's one challenge per game.
Having the UFL as a minor league seems a bit tricky to deal with. With how popular college football is in the US, this is the most unique case. The way the UFL is more like how the CFL exists and doesn’t directly compete with the NFL (again that college football thing). But the UFL has a very unique position to become a defacto minor league. Similar to how the relegation system works in Soccer and Rugby, the UFL could act as the mediator league for developing NFL players without directly being tied to the NFL. The closest example I have is with how Hockey Canada’s junior system works. There are three tiers of Junior and one Major Junior (considered semi professional under academia). If you are wondering - Junior C is still considered a part of Minor Hockey or youth hockey as it is U21 but is not a stand alone team that is exclusively the junior age group (16 - 20).
NIL pays a lot more.
You forgot one: in the NFL it's legal to have not one, but 2 predators for QB. I don't know if the UFL could get away with that.
The PI rule is the same in college
Half the same
Folds in two years sounds about right. USFL has muddied the water. If it was just the XFL, I think the name alone could hold it afloat, but diluting the concept of spring football with two leagues last year probably hurt more than helped. Changing the name after a league that folded twenty years or so ago doesn't help either. Considering there's likely to be some really bad defense played, expect teams to go for three a lot.
🤣😂🤣😂
I love the shootout rule for the regular season, though that does not belong in the playoffs. Clock Management is a major part of the sport, and the fact it just goes away in effectively all football rulesets is insane
😂😂 How nice of you to throw in clips from Top Secret
Im so excited KAKAWWW
Actually think this leagues gonna make it this time around it has the support from the nfl
Not financial support though.
Really it's just like emotional support.
Can't wait for Nathan Pederman's MVP ceremony
I mean the X and S being dropped makes sense. When you draw an X over something, that means it's removed. They just X-ed out the S
And what happens to the league when the world learns the horrible truth about Dwayne Johnson?
Which one?

As long as they don’t let Trump become and owner it could last more then two seasons
That silly old USFL narrative?
Sure Trump didn't help the league in the end with his campaigning of moving to the Fall, but the league as a whole is to blame.
Expanded way too rapidly. Trump didn't put a gun to anyones head to force that.
Ugh, if that isn't the truth. As soon as he got out of it in the 80s, spring football leagues finally flourished.
Every level of football should have college football's overtime rules. It's the most fair and most easy to follow. Anything else is goofy and unnecessary.
No it’s not. Nfl is better just score the game winning td.
@@alexanderguerrero347 that's just a luck of a coin toss. Weak.
First of all, unless a tie needs to be broken -- it's a knockout game -- it should be left tied. After that, every method of breaking ties has its own disadvantages, take your pick. My own preference is playing a mini-game of shorter periods.
an idea I had for ot is fg penalies. Basically, you start at the 50 and then kick field goals. After 5 tries, both kickers move back 5 yards, then after two tries, they move back to the 60 yard line. The penalties, as expected, work just like they do in soccer.
A slightly worse idea than the UFL went with
NFL overtime for advertisers and gamblers: Each team gets one possession and most points win. If no points, place kickers start from the 45. Only 7 people each side, must kick. 5 yards further out if they both make it. Hey, if 52 players on each team couldn't get it done, this includes their failures when they relied on the kickers during regular time, then demand that people who foot the football.....foot the football. Lastly, they foot at the same time and change ends after each kick.
The NFL coin toss at this point is just a ceremonial aspect that makes no sense. Home team should def get the choice first
Bro we don't even SEE the coin toss except for the Super Bowl.
It's not that serious. Just leave it in.
If only the UFL had kept all 8 teams each from both the XLF and the USFL during the merger, then it had been a bit more interesting
Supposedly the teams that didn't make the merger are on "pause" and it just came out the UFL hopes to expand to 12 teams in 2025
@@DisabledgamerJ1 At least if it's true, it would be some bare minimum of progress to an extent. Although the scheduling would be tough with a 10 game schedule if its 12 teams, unless it does a 16 game schedule. But with 16 teams, the league would be forced to create 2 conferences with 2 divisions of 4 teams each; and later have a 14 game schedule (with the last 4 games being against one division of the opposing conference, with a 2 year rotational basis; plus the 4 games against the other conference and the other 6 games within division foes)
If they challenge everything, how long would that game take to play?
He said in the video that it uses one of your time outs, so not any longer than any other game where both teams use all 3 time outs per half
Damn, what did Kesha do to you?
The team with the most field goals will probably be the brahmas cause they have Donald de la haye
None of this is new. All of it came from previous USFL / XFL rules.
However, the biggest rule difference (which I personally despise) is that any punt that goes out of bounds behind the 25 yard line will be brought back... to the 25 yard line.
They say this is to eliminate "coffin corner" punts, but I think those are the most exciting version of a punt. Will the punter be able to pin the other team at their own 1, or will the ball go in the end zone for a touchback? Will the defense make an insane acrobatic play to save the ball from going into the end zone? And if the offense gets the ball at the 1 or close to it, will the defense be able to get a safety or an easy pick six? SO many things can happen on a coffin corner punt. And this rule eliminates ALL of them. In fact it virtually eliminates safeties from the game entirely.
The OT rule is the same rule they use in college isn’t it?
top secret a dub movie
At 2:51...........................Chocolate Mousse. Top Secret is the best Val Kilmer movie ever. How silly can you get?
I actually liked the first incarnation of the XFL, it was the broadcasters and the way it was presented that made me stop watching.
UFL Is so soon I can taste it 🛡️😏

Ufl should be the nfl g league
They shouldn’t have 3 Texas teams especially since there only 8 , more xfl teams shoulda made it on there
Hell yeah. NCAA level football with stupid rules. Whoot! Going to be so successful!
U awful? Pretty sure this will be the final verdict.
In terms of which team possesses the ball first, they should have brought back the how the original XFL did it, dislocated shoulders be damned 😂🤣😅
Spring football wasn't gone if you knew where to look: women's, National Public Safety League, various others.
WHAT, NFL players can't play in the UFL!? Well in the words of Dave Chappelle's Dylan, "Sugar cookie mon, this is crazy"
Points will kc ever pick up a wr 😭
Touchdowns should just count a certain number of points and then kick off. None of this gambling on extra points.
the xfl was good enough and the usfl sucked ass
UFL sounds horrible, then again, the Rock is behind it so it will fail miserably.
Rock isn't the only owner

Lame football league. NFL, NCAA, or bust
