It sounds way more professionnal with pre recorded backing vocals, and they're most of the time used with effects that cannot be reproduced live.

    I´m wishing for:
    - good placements for Greece and Germany

    - BIGGER AND MORE DIVERSE JURIES (clearly thats very important to me)

  • @a.m.rifkia.3rd493
    @a.m.rifkia.3rd493 Před 9 měsíci +20

    -bringing back juries to semifinal
    -ditching the pre-recorded backing vocalists
-expanding the number of members in each country's jury panel. five is too few, so I think 10 or 12 will make a good number
-having relatively-shorter interval period for the grand final (maximum of 30 minutes, please)

    • @mt000n
      @mt000n Před 9 měsíci +2

If we're expanding the number of member sin each jury panel it would benefit the jury friendly songs even more. Like in the televote we often see way more "big points" and way more "low points", it's much more spread out while in the jury it's not as spread out. But if we would increase the total members in each jury the average jury score in each country would look much more like eachother.
For example, now theres 5 jurors, and if one juror put Germany #1, it would most likely end up in the Top 10 overall jury score from that country and it would get at least 1 point despite the other members putting Germany very low. But if there was 10 jurors and only one juror put Germany first and the others put it in the bottom, Germany wouldn't get any points. The countries that would benefit are the jury friendly songs. So for example Loreen would most likely get EVEN MORE jury points if there was 10 jurors.

    My hopes for Eurovision 2024:
*1.* A competitive lineup with musical and linguistic diversity.
*2.* The winner to be selected by the public (no 2023) and for strictly musical reasons (no 2022).
*3.* Latvia, Georgia & Ireland finally breaking their NQ streaks, as long as they deserve to.
*4.* Juries to vote again in the semifinals (to avoid another 'Aijā' level of injustice).
*5.* Juries to be reformed or their vote to be minimized, which refers to my 2nd wish.
*6.* Every entry to reach its full potential through a flawless staging & performance (which will lead to a strong competition). I'm tired of seeing good songs be ruined live.
*7.* Have a first time winner, preferably Iceland, Malta or Cyprus which are old countries. Realistically Lithuania, Czechia, Armenia or Australia might as well make it in 2024.
*8.* If 7 isn't possible, at least have a country win who hasn't won in the 21st century, namely Spain, France (both of which have been trying hard in recent years) and also Switzerland, Belgium, UK & Ireland. Why not even Luxembourg?
*9.* Have at least 41 countries participating (all 37 from 2023 plus Luxembourg, Montenegro, North Macedonia & Monaco).
*10.* No Petra Mede as host. I'm sure that Sweden can find other entertaining presenters. Also I'm tired of seeing Måns Zelmerlöw every year, though in 2024 it is guaranteed.
*11.* Returning artists from 2-3 countries, especially ones which were underrated in their previous participation. A returning winner would be interesting though.
*12.* Countries to get out of their comfort zones and send other than their usual stuff.
*13.* Less formulaic songs by songwriting teams (e.g. Borislav Milanov) but songs written by the singers themselves.
*14.* No more copycat stagings from uninspiring stage directors (e.g. Sacha Jean Baptiste) which applies to 6.
*15.* As less drama as possible. No more whining about national final favourites or undeserved NQs or bullying artists for those reasons.
*16.* My country to do well, preferably with a unique ethnic song and not another westernized uptempo song (2021) or ballad (2022).
    Any questions?

I don't think they should change things too much. We do need the juries to give a professional/wider overall view. It certainly adds to the drama and makes for some interesting, sometimes heated, discussions once we have disected the final result.
My wishes.....to penalize certain countries for the very, very predictable voting, exchanging 24points year after year after year with their "best friends". So frustrating. Yes .... Cyprus/Greece love in just one example.
Also a wider range of alicating points so more songs get rewarded. Award 1 to 12 points so 12 songs get recognise and the top two don't get such a boost.
We all like different songs, stagings, artists and that is part of the beauty of the ESC and why I love it so much. I'm already excited the new season is here.

To me, complaints about pre-recorded back-up vocals and random running order seems extremely naive about how the show felt 10 years ago. Shownumbers like Chanels and Noas could not be arranged if all the limited people on stage had to be vocalists instead of professional dancers. Advanced and cool staging overall would have to be nixed out of hand because show planning could not space out and work around them. Not to mention the awful and soul-crushing experiences of having to sit through 40-50 minutes of non-stop songs fated for the right part of the scoreboard clustered together (yes, fated, you don't come between 7-10th in the semi and suddenly have a chance of winning). And if you seriously think back-up vocals "saves bad vocal performers" maybe you should check out what happened to Denmark this year...
What I'm hoping for is a winner who either hasn't won at all or in a very long time. Either one of the Eastern European countries or maybe like a Spain!

Plus with the international juries it is impossible for a song in style like Theoz or Panetoz to win because the juries doesn't vote for those kind of songs. My wishlist for Eurovision 2024 is as follows.
    * Have a country who's never won the contest before do so like Albania, Iceland, or Malta which would be nice to see or someplace that's not won in a long time e.g Spain, France, or Finland as Sweden's now won it most times in recent years being 2012, 2016, and 2023 which if they did again in 2024 would be boring and generic for me.
    * Don't have Mans Zelmerlow or Petra Mede host again but new people this time as they've hosted together already and Petra hosted one time on her own before that.
I'd like to see people not known prior and learn about them as I'm sure Sweden has many music or TV personalities who can do that instead.
    * Remove pre-recorded vocals and bring back live voices only because it is a singing contest as well as a performance show and having artists sing live tells people who are good and not good in their eyes.
    * Bring back juries for both semi-finals so creditable songs that won't get through on televoting alone do so allowing a good mixture of numbers to have a fair chance of winning overall but there must be caveats to stop the bribing which occurred between certain nations voting for others in 2022.
Firstly the number of jurors is increased from 5 to between 10-14 per delegated entry.
Those people must be experienced in a particular style of music and have more than one genre featured to be labelled as a jury like pop, rock, classical/opera, r and b/hip hop/soul, musical theatre, alternative music, and traditional music.
Any person who competed but didn't win their national final is not counted in this category.
The number of jurors from one country can be known to the general public and what genre they're experienced in but not who they are to protect their identities.
Nations aren't in the same room when voting so everyone chooses on their merit and isn't influenced by what other folks like.
And finally, the reason why nations voted in a particular order whoever they liked is known e.g. better vocals or staging, consistent timing, or grander melody.
    * Showcase more songs in native tongues which I like as that makes entries unique and is a way people learn foreign languages although I do understand why countries send songs in English because it's easier to know and has more chances of winning overall.
    * Have new European countries in the contest like Kazakhstan emitting more diversity.
    * More places aren't afraid of sending alternative music like Serbia in the past couple of years.
    * Greater love given to outside-of-the-box or EDM songs which don't do well and not so much pop songs unless any particular entries are outstanding then.
One way of doing that is to have jurors experienced in those genres.
    * Change how running orders are selected so fewer entries that mightn't do as well as better-liked ones get more points themselves.
    * And use a live orchestra to complement number 3 which I enjoyed before pre-recorded instrumentation came in though I do know that won't ever happen again because of budget and everything.

Yeah I'm still not convinced Noa brought the vocals like... she was very shaky literally every time she wasn't 100% stationary so I'm very surprised, not from the public vote, but the jury vote like... you really wanna tell me the judges liked her vocals more than Marco's, Blanca's or even Andrew's??? The public is one thing but the juries are supposed to vote good vocals above everything else and, she wasn't terrible, of course, but since they gutted Alessandra, I was surprised they didn't do the same to Noa. Unless she gave the performance of her life in the jury show or they felt bad that her dancer made her fall 😂😂

Eurovision is at crisis. That's happening since some years now and the cause is that Eurovision feels away from people. Televoting made Eurovision great and put it at the top. As the years passed jury didn't vote right as supposed to and the popularity of the contenst is going from bad to worst. If ebu is smart it will reduce the power of juries to 30% or lower or remove them eventually. If juries did their job right that wouldn't be the case, but that year even lorreens fans knew juries weren't fair and that happened almost every year , specifically 2023,2019 and 2016,2015 and the list keeps going Give power to the people cause the show is about them. If they keep the system as it is in a few years we will have 30 or less competitive countries and Sweden will be always top 10 no matter if they deserved it .

I have an aunt with facial hair. She isn't doing it ironically... She's old and old women sometimes get facial hair. Let's not try and tell girls having a beard and hairy pits is normal because men don't like that and they will only be depressed when they try and pull a man as an adult
