    I've had fatteh in a Lebanese restaurant and that became one of my favorite dishes. Was looking at a proper recipe in youtube and found yours to be the closest. Looking forward to your other videos.

    Hey, I'm ravi from india. Was wondering how to prepare the flatbread that you used. Indian traditional flatbread is roti which is made with wholewheat flour. Do you think I can use this instead?

    • @thehungrynomad7499
      @thehungrynomad7499 Před 3 lety

      Yes. You can use it. I eat it with crisped roti all the time and it comes perfect. In fact, the flatbread used in the middle east is also made of either maida or whole wheat flour just like us.

      i love rotti, from my experience it does not offer the same type of flavour and crunch because rotti is thicker and fluffier than lebanese flatbread. but it won't hurt to try!

    great video, but if I'm doing it with almonds and regular butter instead of ghee, should i brown it?

    • @LemonLaimoon
      @LemonLaimoon  Před 3 lety

      Thank you! Glad you like it! I would not brown the butter as that would change the flavour. Instead, i would use very thinly sliced almonds that would fry faster before the butter starts browning. And would start by putting both the butter and the thinly sliced almonds in the pan at the same time (as opposed to putting the butter first then adding the almonds). Try it out & let us know how you like it 🙂

    What a peculiar hummus, I wouldn't call it hummus at all. Its just chickpeas and yoghurt etc?
    No olive oil, no lemon juice, no tahini either??? Not even a little paprika?
    Looks and sounds horrible!

    • @LemonLaimoon
      @LemonLaimoon  Před 3 lety +13

      What a peculiar comment!
      The "hummus" dish you are referring to with tahini and lemon is called "hummus-b-tahini". Hummus is the Arabic name for chickpeas. It is an ingredient and not a dish on it's own.
      This dish is called hummus fatteh. It uses hummus (=chickepeas) as its main ingredient.

      You are funny ! Are you teaching a Lebanese chef how to cook hahahaha😂hummus means chickpeas !!hummus dip is what you get from the American grocery ! It’s made with sesame seeds : means tahinye ! No need to leave a rude comment like this .
