And wow the coasters were stunning too, sometimes the ‘mistakes’ make something even more wonderful!! I think that’s why I love your videos so much is that you are just as surprised as we are when you de-mould! Lol and the little pot I’m sure would supposed to be the barrel shape. Love it! Lovely Claire. You can create your own molds by using a small plastic ( or cellophane wrapped) container inside a bigger one and pour the jesmonite between the two (after you've put a base layer in the bigger one) - OR - you can google garden decor molds but they are hugely expensive.

    Hi. I usually use epoxy resin but I've just ordered some jesmonite to try for the time. Wirh resin if you get tiny holes from bubbles on the rim you can hide maybe by using top coat or resin or tiny bit of UV resin on a toothpick to fill. How do you fill the tiny holes you may get with jesmonite? Thanks x

    I have had molds bow slightly the underside cross frame is to blame. I’ve been told to place the mold in sand to underfill the cross frame or put resin in the underside to firm up the underside to give strength and shape to your pour side. I’ve heard that you can use mica powder to color jesmonite. Would a little powder in the mold first work similarly to the foil here? I’m a newbie and haven’t even received my jesmonite in the mail yet, but I’m loving learning all the tips on your channel. Your excitement is infectious! 😁

    • @ClairesCraftyCorner
      @ClairesCraftyCorner  Před 2 lety

    Love your videos Claire. Their such an inspiration and your personality is infectious. The little pot from Wish would make a nice little candle holder. Just a thought but would it work I wonder if you add the foil directly to some Jesmonite before you add it to the mold like you do with the terrazzo shards. So add the foil to a little Jesmonite, spread it across the mold where you want it, the fill the rest of the mold with your other colours, then fill the finished product to reveal the foil afterwards? Would that work? I love the foil in the Jesmonite, it really gives it that something extra. A bit of sparkle. About filing, you need to buy yourself a Jooltool to speedup the process of filing for you. 😂😂😂😂

    • @ClairesCraftyCorner
      @ClairesCraftyCorner  Před 2 lety

      Heyyyy Helen, thank you so much I am glad you love my videos ... The foil I have not yet tried putting it inside the jesmonite. I worry it may get lost but would be worth trying for sure. So, the AC100 can and does get used as a candle vessel however, AC100 is Combustible so you would have to take care to ensure at least a 1 inch gap around the wick all around ... the AC730 is NON-combustible so better for candles x

    Oh girl... Wish probably had a 3yo pose for that picture during their break from making the molds. That kid was supporting their family and buying shoes for the emperor’s wife. I will give Wish credit for selling dollhouse stuff for a good price. Never mind they don’t clearly promote it as teeny weeny.
