Dr. Doyle-Morris, as a male, there is no shortage of male knuckleheads in the workplace. You made me laugh. I strongly support promoting women into upper management. I am not a manager, but I will do what I can to support full equality.
Gets annoyed when I don't keep myself busy with company related work while simultaneously refusing to acknowledge that I need more company related work in order to stay productive 🙄
My boss is a devious devil. He acts like I’m Casper the friendly ghost to corporate and will skip me to say, Hi but will acknowledge who is important in his mind. The other day I had a corporate staff come in and not once did my boss introduce me even at the fact that I’m a director and got the place up and running after COVID-19.
You nailed the issue right there.. if you have deep rooted insecurities then how do you deal with problems with deep rooted insecurities; sounds like a primary problem the difficult management is a secondary issue
We cannot change them. We can do our best, take the high road and leave those places like a stepping stone. Sometimes the boss gets replaced and you gain some new ground. I’ve confronted before but if the person is highly insecure it can lead to retaliation. This takes careful consideration.
Agree Dr Suzanne, there are very few 'always' or 'nevers' in life. Also being specific and giving an example takes the emotional charge out of the situation because your boss may feel less personally attacked.
Well, what happens when it is another woman doing this? Or a group of women the the female ringleader created? I am in a female dominated feild and I go through so much toxic abuse by them.
I've always likened the "workplace" to a prison. The head of the prison is usually a white male (the warden/boss), security guards are the managers and supervisors (they have to spend most of their time at the prison just like the inmates, but they get perks: high salaries, the warden (boss)has their back, they get to be there less hours and they have flexibility, they have power over the inmates (employees) and can play their sick twisted games with them, etc.) The employees are obviously the inmates: scapegoats, golden children, snitches, suck ups, brown nosers, troublemakers, mob leaders, gangs, loners, cliques, bullies, alphas, and so on. No matter what kind of inmates they are, they all get shit on in one way or another by the boss, supervisors, and managers. Yes, in, the workplace you can leave if you want, but usually your only option is to go to another prison and deal with all the same horrors.
You got to understand that your tactics might work for women but men live by a different standard. Men treat men differently than they treat women, so if he was willing to listen to the woman, I would get fired on the spot for that same comment.
What about being kept in the dark about opportunities that involve your original job title which you've expressed interest in and he's promised you but which get handed over to an apprentice?
In my long career in the gov't, I'd seen many situations exactly like what Suzanne is describing. Confronting the issue head-on and can sometimes be a game changer for the employee, other times, maybe not. Good luck!
I'm dealing with an intentionally devious devil and flatter help thing doesn't work for me because he has a lot of superiority complex that even seeking a help from him for flattering is just a torture. First of all, he will look down on those who seek for help and criticize them intentionally in front of everyone. How should I deal with this situation?
1:17 What if he says "my bad", so he knows what he's doing and does it anyway. 2:20 I do feel like a nagging wife at the best of times. 3:45 He's stopped asking me for feedback. It's hard to know whether standing up to him will result in respect or being fired.
If you’ve ever worked for a socially awkward knucklehead share one thing they did that drove you crazy?
I had a boss who used to shout at you in front of everyone if you couldn't answer his question!

@@MrGenXer Thank you for your comment - and I'm glad that I made you laugh! Thank you for supporting equality!!

I work for a socially awkward nit picking bully. Who happens to be female.
The schedule changes drove me crazy

I want to vent to one of my managers about my schedule right now
My boss is a devious devil but I am not the flattering kind. I can't talk fake.
I ended up charged with insubordination, im going for hearing on 15 days
me too...... i choose confronting them which always stuns them and they cant take it..
I just want to vent about my schedule right now
I appreciate your segment on this. It’s infectious and it makes it more difficult to get work done.
What a tough situation to be in. Thank you for your wisdom and tips!
Thank you for watching! Have you ever had to deal with a 'bad boss'?
Deep rooted insecurities dont go away by these tactics. And telling people to change their behaviour to accommodate an asshole is not help!

Great advice! This is never an easy situation to deal with.
Thanks for watching Barbara! Hope you've not had to encounter too many 'bad bosses'.
Yeah, take action and confront it instead of dwelling on it.
Great video fellow boss!
Thank you watching in! What sort of 'bad boss' have you experienced in your career?
We definitely need a lot of wisdom in all areas of life. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching? Which type(s) of 'bad boss' have you encountered?

Thank you for the tips 👍🏻
Thanks for watching. Have you ever had to deal with a 'bad boss' ?
Really stressful situation but your advice is really helpful.
great advice! thank you!
Thank you for watching Ortal. Any other advice you would add for anyone with an undermining boss?
Very useful!
Hard topic to discuss, but you did a great job!

This is a woman on woman problem, men have been removed from the equation by HR rules and a general withdrawal by men from women at work
ALL OVER THE PLACE !

You clearly have no effective advice with workplace conflict. You know your only real good advice here is to quit.
Good feedback; do you have any suggestions?
