How To Fix The Stuck On Character Creation Mirror Glitch/Bug - Fallout 4 | PS5

- Keep pausing the game at regular intervals, you will hear the dialogue play through the menu as shown in the video. Rinse and repeat until you see the HUD pop up.
IMPORTANT: After you have created your character and can walk freely, make a new save file and close the game. Once you restart and load up your save the game should run smoothly. Well as smoothly as a Bethesda game can run anyway 😆

my understanding is this bug happens sometimes if you skip the game intro cinematic too soon; wait for the voice over to start before you skip and it shouldn't happen.

This glitch happened to me the first time I started the game and I skipped the cinematic. Figured that's what caused it so I restarted and let the cinematic play through. Still hung up here but was still able to pause my way through the intro to the character creation screen.
2024 and this is still needed. thanks

embarressing really im uninstalling.
This is a ps5 exclusive bug
For any of those still haven’t dialogue problems after the mirror, save the game, exit, then close the application.
Afterward, start the game up and LOAD the save file and it should be good, tried it and it worked

Are you serious a glitch at the very start of the game? 🤦♀This fixed it for me big thanks to ED FUR'S comment. Once the intro gets past the war part and into the part where u see the robot cutting the hedges and yard you can skip it then it worked for me👍👍👍👍

Just redownloaded for the first time in years and started to an unresponsive game. Have to open the audio menu to progress voice lines. Unbelievably broken game.
Same, l thought it was the mods l had but soon as l removed them. It still happened, the noise is also delayed.

Hmmmm seems the rest of the game after that was still bugged.... had to delete the Cache file and start again. Fixed now.

Installed the game twice, once without dlc to get it to work, now I have this face glitch and having to pause for dialogue, it works now but really disappointed in how they haven’t fixed anything in all these years especially with the release of the show.
It is crazy how they left it so long, there is the next gen update today so hopefully that fix it

This works to get my character created but then once Vault tec guy comes to the door, no amount of pausing will make him finish his lines and walk away
You have to make a manual save and restart the game, should work perfectly then 🤘

Hi I just got an Xbox s today and my first game I got was fallout 4 and this bug happens I did the same then restart my Xbox and turn on subtitles . With pausing it gets me to the platform we're all that happened is nora says sh sh it's ok and than nothing happened I'm stuck on the platform? Is there something I'm missing is there no hope for some?
Just have to make a manual save then restart the game, reload your save and it should be sorted. If that doesnt work, someone told me to start a new game and dont skip the beginning cut scene. Once it plays out the game should run normally 👍 i cant confirm the second way but apparently it does work, good luck bro let me know how you get on

Purchased and installed today and had the glitch right away. On PS 5, digital version of Fallout 4 GoTY Edition.
But the glitch doesnt stop, I cannot hear the characters and the glitchs goes on and on, now the wife isn’t talking to (not like at home) and the sales man isnt talking. Wtf

For me it was my plugins, I had too many and has to mark some as light in Vortex. Lots of random solutionsto this bug.

The fact that this is a bug baffles me. And when is that patch for PS5 coming out?
I got past this bug by pausing/unpausing as well and also pressing X randomly during dialogues, but then 1) I got stuck when codsworth said "sir you should watch the news" and then nothing happened. So I had to save, exit the game, and when I came back, my wife was escaping by the front door but it wasn't over 2) I managed to get to the platform (by doing the pausing/unpausing thing with the officer) but then it just got stuck again. The bombs won't fall and the platform won't go down. I paused/unpaused a few times, waited, saved and came back, nothing works. I just gave up, this game is broken
Also I got the bug although I didn't skip the intro cinematic so... I don't know why it happens...
