Ah my question was for the negative terminal clamp but I couldn’t see it. Thanks anyways - you know Jeep batteries! Unfortunate that it’s a common issue for jeeps. Thanks!
Shimming battery terminals a new battery going to run like a champ
Shimming battery terminals can create a good connection. In this video I wanted to address the issue of a worn-out terminal replacement. This approach will definitely repair the problem and prevent future issues.
I’m having a hard time seeing the battery and both terminals, the camera is too far away.
On those cars if you disconet battery you have to reprogram tcm
2016 JKU less than 30,000 miles, one owner. Won’t start, check engine & hot oil light warning. After sitting at dealership for a month in Jan ‘22 trying to recreate the problem and communicating back and forth with Jeep HQ. Replaced entire fuse box ($1200 dealership price w/labor) No problems since.
Thank you for sharing. This will help out the community.
It's a battery issue. I have experienced this 2 times on the model. In year 3 in 2018 and in 2022.
What exactly is causing it?
Battery good no power to starter
Check power at starter relay

No
@@brooklyn7983 check battery voltage. Must 12.4 to 12.6 volts with the key off. Of course if battery voltage is above 12.6, battery is fully charged. If voltage is good. Use multi-meter, select volts dc. Make sure your vehicle is in park position with emergency brakes applied. Have someone turn key to on start position while you have multi-meter on battery. If voltage drops below 9.6 volts. Battery is dead, but has enough power to power your lights.
I have a video on this process.
Hey Thanks, Yes It was the battery
That is just simply pathetic to charge people what they have to pay for a new vehicle and get terminals that we need cotter pins WTH
