I’m so glad you loved the song. The beauty of The Bee Gees was not only their angelic voices, their heavenly harmonies but the fact that they wrote all their own music. They loved to use all different kinds of instruments in their arrangements. Knew were they wanted violins, saxophones, trumpets, etc…and all without knowing how to write or read music. The were all self taught and played guitar, piano/keyboard etc..Maurice was the multi instrumentalist of the three. They even wrote top hits for top artists. They wrote over 1000+ songs of different genres and they were heavily influenced by R&B, Soul, funk. They were perfectionists and would not release something if it did not meet up to their standards. The family didn't have much money and the three boys taught themselves to sing close harmony by listening to these recordings and the Everly Brothers on the radio. By ages 5 and 8 the 3 boys were in harmony. (Robin and Maurice are twins). Black Soul and rhythm and blues were their inspiration

.. Them singing falsetto was actually a day in their studio when singing a song realising they would need a woman's voice.. Only they couldn't think of anyone who would fit in, and while they were playing around with their own voices, trying to see how high notes they could touch, they found their falsetto.. They tried out singing the whole song in falsetto and it worked so perfectly fine they decided to keep it that way.. And they did.. Before that, they sang with their normal voices, until that certain day..
One of my favorite things about them is whether they're live or recorded they sound exactly the same. They don't like loving a song and hearing it live and it doesn't sound like the recording. They always sound live just like the record.

The brothers Gibb what more can I say other than they were musical genius'. Their 3 way harmony has never been equaled. My concern with AI is that pure unadulterated talent like these guys will become obsolete which would be so sad. Today's artists cannot hold a candle to these 3 in my book. I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This song would have been in my wedding. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs. old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Robin (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure. Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Passed as a result of a twisted intestine. He was in the hospital for 2 days. Barry said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, (not pictured) had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs. younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. He lived a lifestyle involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers wrote all of his songs. Barry (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2022, he and his wife Linda celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a sidenote, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who was 78, January 12, 2023. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. The Bee Gees are 3 brothers who were born on the Isle of Man, then moved to Manchester before emigrating to Australia. They then returned to the UK before moving to the USA. They wrote loads of great songs over many decades and genres. They also sounded just as good live as on the studio versions and had fabulous harmonies. They were influenced at a young age by the music their mom played in the house..one of those bands were the Mills Brothers.... You must listen to Fanny Be Tender With My love. Quincy Jones calls I the greatest R&B song of all time. Love You Inside Out, One(official video) and many many more. They considered themselves R&B funk but were best known for the disco era. They hated being called a disco group. .. Them singing falsetto was actually a day in their studio when singing a song realising they would need a woman's voice.. Only they couldn't think of anyone who would fit in, and while they were playing around with their own voices, trying to see how high notes they could touch, they found their falsetto.. They tried out singing the whole song in falsetto and it worked so perfectly fine they decided to keep it that way.. And they did.. Before that, they sang with their normal voices, until that certain day..
They are the older brothers, but they had a younger brother named Andy, that looked and sounded just like Barry. 😢❤
One of my favorite things about them is whether they're live or recorded they sound exactly the same. They don't like loving a song and hearing it live and it doesn't sound like the recording. They always sound live just like the record.

The brothers Gibb what more can I say other than they were musical genius'. Their 3 way harmony has never been equaled. My concern with AI is that pure unadulterated talent like these guys will become obsolete which would be so sad.

I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This song would have been in my wedding. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs. old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Robin (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure. Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Passed as a result of a twisted intestine. He was in the hospital for 2 days. Barry said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins.
Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, (not pictured) had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs. younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. He lived a lifestyle involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers wrote all of his songs. Barry (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2022, he and his wife Linda celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a sidenote, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who was 78, January 12, 2023. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They wrote all of their own songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. He's the amazing thing, they could not read musical notes. This meant they were also awesome musicians and just played by ear.

To my ear the most enjoyable harmonies occur between Robin and Maurice while Barry does his trill (if that’s a word) over the top. Known this one since 1981.
If you want to check out their musical journey, start with the few black and white videos of when they started as young kids then the 60s, 70s, 80s, etc. They have endured because they are uniquely talented, both vocally and as composers, and because of their ability to reinvent themselves through each decade-changing genre. I got to see them live in 1975 when I was 16 years old.

Barry Gibb, oldest brother of twins Maurice (base player) and Robin. The twins and younger brother Andy (solo vocal career) have all passed away. Only Barry remains. Siblings seem to always have a beautiful vocal blend, of which in the 1970's several family groups were performing. this son'g 'Too Much Heaven' is one of my all time favorites! They donated all proceeds to this song to St. Jude's Hospital for Children (treatment of cancer).

The Bee Gees worked with Robert Stigwood who worked w/a lot of Blk artists back in the day before working w/the BGs so maybe that's part of what you're hearing.

The Bee Gees are 3 brothers who were born on the Isle of Man, then moved to Manchester before emigrating to Australia. They then returned to the UK before moving to the USA.
They wrote loads of great songs over many decades and genres. They also sounded just as good live as on the studio versions and had fabulous harmonies. The Bee Gees also wrote for other singers including Barbara Stresand etc.
They were influenced at a young age by the music their mom played in the house..one of those bands were the Mills Brothers....
They were all Knighted by Queen Elizabeth ...Maurice had already passed away, so Queen Elizabeth presented the medal and certification to the two remaining brothers, Barry and Robin....

You must listen to Fanny Be Tender With My love. Quincy Jones calls I the greatest R&B song of all time. Love You Inside Out, One(official video) and many many more. They considered themselves R&B funk but were best known for the disco era. They hated being called a disco group. They are one of the greatest group of all times, up there with Earth Wind and Fire for me.
