Karim I've literally known you since day one and can honestly say with hand on heart that you're one of the nicest if not the nicest human being on this planet

Brilliant pod cast Alex, can’t bring myself to call you the Quipster. No offence, but it sounds like the sort of nickname you made up yourself!
Carefully curated D&D type 40K is so much fun, and can be really liberating to players who have only played match-play competitive games. I love it when we change up the rules, fix points, and cook up thematic psychic powers and strats for one-off campaigns.
Very interesting that you touched on this culture clash we seem to have which no one talks about and how nice you are about it. I’m talking about the established nerd community in an area and all the upwardly mobile public school type guys who love 40K as well.
It’s definitely a thing and I’ve seen some very funny and awkward interactions.
Does no one not have a story about the cheaty Italian? The name originates because he typically rolls up with all his codexes in Italian to hide the fact he’s going to try something shady. He’s traumatic to play against but the made up stratagems are just amazing!
Anyway sorry about the essay, and please keep up the good work. I can just slap one of these on, feel all motivated and get some serious hobby done. Thank you.

I'm 90% sure that the disconnect between people being dicks online and face-to-face is based upon the fact that people aren't afraid of getting punched in the face when they're online. Also, this is not specific to the WH community, just look at what a cesspit Twitter/Facebook is outside of the hobby space.
Great video anyway, man. Enjoyed this and the previous one a lot.

Alex, did you have Corona during the filming of this and accidentally give it to Karim? XD

@@alexanderpaternott962 Just coming to the end of the podcast, great chat. Thought it was kind of unstructured and rambly I think that got the best out of both of you and really enjoyed listening to all of the little lore tangents and anecdotes from games / the community. Nice job!
