Thank you guys for watching! - Zábava
As you must know, Ariel and her sisters are supposed to represent the seven seas, so for this live action it was decided to get actresses that represented that as well. The creators explained that each one was conceived in a different sea and that they abosrb its essence. If you ask me, that's a pretty cool lore and fantasy element, everything else is fantasy too so it fits.
THANK YOU!! I’m so sick and tired of this “he a player” crap 🙄 it’s SUPPOSED to magical, we are supposed to suspend our belief to at least some extent.
Oh that’s beautiful! ❤
He's a man Thot.
Nah
@@TozheiAmen-Ra that’s exactly how I felt about the Broadway show too! So what if, in the original cast, Triton was black, and her sisters were also mixed race? In the context of the Disney lore the story was based on, it makes sense!
Your faces during Scuttle’s “rap” had me laughing like a hyena and represented all of us!!
i feel crazy for loving it lol
I actually liked that rap too! Mostly because, like the rap in the middle of Your Welcome, it had Lin-Manuel Miranda literally written all over it. Not to mention, the combination of Alan and Lin was a dream come true for me!
@@KopaXTani It was for Lin as well, getting to work with a legend like Mr. Menken!
@@user-gi8pk9uc7q I bet!
37:00 I think a lot of people also fail to notice that she watched him do that steering wheel thing when he was steering during the storm, so she also learned that from him.
Yes, but watching someone do it isn't quite the same as doing it yourself.
Like, when I was learning how to row.
Had watched my parents do it, but it took time before I managed to do that
@@moonapplegreyMermanshi but thats you. A lot of people can watch someone do something and pick it up just like that. So it is possible
@@Hagridslefttoee Steering a ship? Disagree.
@@moonapplegreyMermanshi considering it’s fictional? Completely do-able. Besides, I’ve seen people learn how to dance from one viewing - think steering a ship isn’t that bad
@@Hagridslefttoee that it's fictional doesn't matter. Doesn't make any sense, which was my pet peeve in the first place.
Yeah, because dancing and steering ships is *totally* the same thing....
You have your opinion and I have mine, and since neither of us is going to change our minds there's really no point in continuing having this discussion.
So good day to you.
What I loved about this movie was how we got to watch Ariel and Eric actually bond with one another + the “under the sea” scene actually showed that Ariel did love her life under the water but wanted more.
Fun fact Simone Ashley (Kate) started filming LM in 2021 and that's when she learned that she had the role in Bridgerton then filming stopped due to covid and it resumed simultaneously with Bridgerton s2 and so the little we see at the end is an integration with special effects. So yes indeed she was taken in LM before she had the celebrity of today so yes that why she has a little role😅
34:51 changing to scale instead of signing a contract addresses the argument that should could write to communicate with Eric when her voice is gone.
Yep, plot hole plugged up!
Fun fact: Someone is helping Halle Bailey with Ariels hair flip underwater because her hair was too heavy for her to do it on her own.
Thanks for sharing. I Just saw the movie with my husband and said there is no way she did that alone, its too heavy. I did it with my natural hair many years ago and almost broke my neck 😂.
Or maybe cause of physics any hair soaked and wet underwater would be hard to flip
Halle also almost broke her neck doing the hair flip!
The reason why the song For the First Time sounds so broadway is because Lin Manuel Miranda wrote it! The man who wrote Hamilton, In The Heights, Encanto, some songs for Moana. He has a very distinct, musical theatre style to his songs
21:27 yes, Halle Bailey said her hair was so heavy from the water that, that hair flip scene she said almost broken her neck
Thank you Ariel and Eric for bringing CHEMSITRY BACKKKKKK to CINEMAAAAA
Their chemistry is off the charts!
There's finally chemistry! Unlike other live action remaked
Yes, and honestly as an adult, I think they're like idiots when they look at each other in the animated version.
I know we're all like idiots when we're in love but that was weird
Belle live action will always be my favorite! But that’s cuz I never watched the original movie
@@whitekitties4224 well, it's the same story except there's things that weren't explain in the animated one (like why Belle's mother is absent)
So ships back then where coated in oil as where the sails often times to help with the water proofing which is why they’re so flammable
That's why fire ships were so effective!
I agree with Monica, about how Eric and Ariel share a love of each other's worlds.
Something about Ariel in the original animated, and which they emphasized even more in the live action, and which somehow many people still don't seem to understand, is that she was in love with the human world far before she ever met prince Eric. So many people trivialize her as some love-sick teenager giving up her life for some dude she just met. But that is not the point of her at all! I like what they did in this film, to show how Eric is just as enamored with the sea- before meeting Ariel- as Ariel is with the surface world- before meeting Eric. They were already so taken with each other's worlds, before meeting each other. That is what drew them together- a shared enthusiasm. It makes their attraction more believable, and also makes her rebellion against her father deeper than just some crush. It's Ursula that makes the spell all about some kiss and getting a man; that's her insinuation, not Ariel's wish.
There are things I liked and disliked about this live-action film, but overall, I found it a worthy version, an enjoyable film. Halle was tremendous.
“King Tritan was a ho” needs to be a T-shirt
Also love the vibes with you and Aisha. Too much fun!
Glad to see someone who loves and appreciate "For The First Time" as much as I do.
39:39 it's the fact that he literally posted a video of himself watching that scene (clearly through a pirated version of the movie because it wasn't out digitally yet) with his fist clenched jfkdsfjs
Two words… Ursula’s Tantrum ❤ it gives me life
My red flag is that I like the scuttlebutt 👨🏻🦯
after a few listens its okay
when I was a kid, I wanted to be a mermaid so bad.
I still do....
I understand
@@MonicaCatapusanI hope Lupita Nyongo has enough common sense to turn down Princess and the Frog and have them offer it to Coco Jones or Normani or the McClaine sisters instead.
I get that!
I am obsessed with The Little Mermaid and I went to see the remake opening night! I absolutely loved it and next week I'm watching it with my family on Disney+.
This film was beautiful in 3d.
Still not over the fact that we didn’t get Ariel walking out of the ocean in her gorgeous sparkly dress, we were ROBBED! That blue dress needed to stay at the bottom of the ocean 😂
Ariel is meant to be eighteen in the movie because they wanted her to be close to Halle Bailey's RL age. I believe the director mentioned this in an interview.
Oh, really ?
@@a.g.demada5263 yeah iirc somebody in production mentioned it in an interview. the characters were aged up to be closer to the actors' RL ages at time of filming
@@alexandrasimon8422 oh, interesting
It also had to do with the updated lore. In this version, all the sisters begin ruling over their respective seas at the age of 15. Which is why Ariel in this version is older and a bit more mature/clever than the animated version.
The song “For the first Time” was inspired by the broadway play’s version of a similar song. So thats why it seems like a broadway song.
If you’re ever interested there are books for the movie. There are a few but there’s a prequel where Ariel is said to be about 15, but I’m not sure how far apart the events of that book and the movie are. There’s also a book full of mermaid lore that even have little messages/notes written by Eric and it’s cute.
You saying you love a pining man when he’s singing wild uncharted waters is so similar to my response to the song. I told my husband dang he’s so obsessed with her SO FAST! At least they’re on the same level lol
I LOVE this adaption! Normally I don’t like live action, apart from the Cinderella one with Lily James, but Halle and the actor for Eric were amazing in this! And the new songs are so great!! Excited to hear your thoughts!
@@osmanyousif7849 yep :) you are entitled to your opinion. Personally, I enjoyed it. Quite a bit.
i agree
Personally for me it made more sense that Ariel killed Ursula and not Eric. When I saw it as a kid in the 80s that was the part that I thought was the weakest in the story. Because as a kid I got the impression that Ariel was an adventure and an adventurer should be able to save the day. Also Ariel was the one who made the deal with her Ursula in the first place so it should be her responsibility to fix it.
You two made this so much fun!
I actually didn’t realize this movie was a comedy! 😂🤣
- Not really, Triton had his seven daughters with the same mermaid (Athena) who in this version is a manta ray mermaid, the reason why each one had a different one is due to two things, one: blind casting and two: each one was born in the sea that each one governs and therefore each one took the essence and physical appearance of each region of the sea
- In this version each daughter of Triton has a special gift and Ariel's is her siren song, which she uses to wake up Eric and is the reason why Eric can't get Ariel's voice out of his head and which Ursula use to charm eric too
- In this version Ariel is 18 years old and Eric is between 21 and 22 years old according to the novelization if I remember correctly and aside, Snow White is 14 years old and her prince is 17, 18 or even 31 years old according to various sources
Ear worm!
OMG IS THIS AISHA U MENTIONED WHYLE WATCHIN FATE? WHEN U SAID U LIKE THAT NAME. WE LOVE
Omg YES this is her😂💗
You two are a menace. 😂🤣 loved the joint reaction. You guys are funny.
You two are hilarious 😂 I needed this reaction 🙌 & love the matching fits ❤️
It was fun having you both.
ive watched so many little mermaid reactions and this one is by far the funniest! love this movie and your vid, thanks for your time
13:55 it was previously established on the boat he was adopted…
Everyone wake up the queen has posted ❤❤❤❤❤
The ORIGINAL story is actually that of a gay man writing a letter to a man he loves who is straight... It is incredibly heartbreaking.(I wish I could be a part of your world)
I agree with the title of this video! This has been the BEST Disney Princess remake I have EVER Watched! 👏👏👏
Anyone who said the live action remake of this film is bad, clearly needs to get their head checked. Also compare the original to the remake and you’ll see which one is better.
And you clearly need to understand that people have different tastes. Some will like the animated/original better. Some will prefer this. Both options are okay.
I love this duo
I gotta say, I think Eric’s song is both about his intrigue about Ariel BUT also about the ocean in general too because he’s a man who desperately wants to explore and he’s being barred from both that and seeking out the girl who saved him
DVD😭😭😭 Y’all are WRONG for that lol
its so dumb.
They literally tried to explain why shes not immediately all about getting a kiss from Eric the moment she sees him, something the original didn't have.
One little problem: IT DIDN'T/DOESN'T NEED IT!
As has been repeated over and over, Ariels wish to be human wasn’t just about falling for Eric. She had a genuine love for humanity. So of course shes gonna be a little distracted by suddenly being in a human town, doing human things!
yh we know but they made it more about her fascination with humans. And as for eric they also added similarity to their characters s they can relate to each other as well as crush on each other. The live action eric is way better period.
18:01 actually her prince is 30 something 😶
But others say 18 maybe ur right idk
This is actually pretty good as far as the Disney remakes go. Halle Bailey was absolutely BORN to play Ariel! Have you seen the remake of Cinderella with Lily James? IMO that is another one of the best, if not THE best, Disney remakes, would love to know what you think of that one!
Okay so ariel is 18 yrs. Old and prince eric is 21. Triton's wife and the daughter's mother probably didn't have a "color" or rather a "race". In the book Their mother Athena looks more like a "sea creature" than the other mer-folk. (Ihmo she looks green to me.) Maybe, Just maybe. she got pregnant in each of the seven seas and perhaps the daughters. Took on features of the regional mer-folk hence why they are of other ethnicities.
Brilliant. Amazing. Incredibly produced. LOVE THE SONGS AND CGI. Also fun fact I’m watching this video while it’s storming 😂 ❤
Same, it's raining here😂
In the original, Eric was orphaned.
He is the king and queen just adopted him in this
The only things i didn't love about this live action are Javier Bardem and Scuttle. Everything else I had a ton of fun with.
Look up "Beyond my wildest dreams," from the Little Mermaid on Broadway. Such a similar concept to "For the First Time."
Definitely one of the better Disney remakes
🫵🏽
Thank you someone had to say it

I agree. Best one, imo.
(I haven't seen the Cinderella remake yet.)
If i could change anything...i wish ALL the sea creatures could talk like the cartoon.
snow white was 14 the prince was 31.... im about to cry myself to sleep now.
I grew up with the Live Action Beauty And The Beast and merch of the movie and I quite enjoyed the movie. But this movie #1 for me
Aladdin is #2
And Beauty And The Beast is #3
The other princesses and there men didn't have massive age gaps but snow white (14) and the prince (31) illegal straight to jail
The jolliest of vibes.
That actually been the opening for a year I think 😅
I loved this movie in the theater and I love how there’s a lot of African-American people because they do not be trying to cast black people In movies when the real movie was a white lead
there's more caribbeans in this movie since it's set there
omg "free dinner girl dinner" took me out!
We did this in my skl play i was in kiss the girl
Omg i love ayeesha i want more with her lol!
My only complain is honestly that we didn’t have enough outfit (and they should have been more inspired by the original) And Ursula Im not at all convainced by The actress performance
I actually really liked Melissa's version of Ursula, I think she did pretty good. It was refreshing seeing her in a new light. There was still some comedy there but seeing her as a manipulative villain was really cool.
I don't know how to explain it, something about her eyes was very made me remember how cold-blooded Ursula actually is.
how dare you i love dogs
It's about emotion, not hitting certain notes to make your career better.
I think Jodi Benson should’ve had a bigger role, the queen maybe.
Snow White is 14 and her prince is 31 :D
Oh god it’s worse than I could’ve ever imagined wtf
Kinda off topic never realized how much Monica kinda looks like Alina starkov from shadow and bone
I think it was from the same mom.. Different DNA comes out for each daughter.
the lines are exactly the same because Disney isn't creative and they copy and pasted the movie accept for the 2 new amazing songs and
the not so good one
This was such a fun reaction to watch, the enthusiasm was contagious! I honestly liked this movie so much more than I thought I would, this was a live action done well
ps. you two are so pretty
I really wish Eric is the One to kill Usera and save Areil's Life so show her dad that Eric can be Trusted.
And simultaneously showing his mutual love for Ariel by saving her after she saved him.
I would give it a 9/10 because where the hell were the merpeople 🧜♀️🧜 this whole time the ship on fire in the rain
In reference to the flip of Ariel saving Eric at the end against Ursula, with translating to live action realm, there was no way Eric would have survived those currents and water while Ariel is of the ocean and a better swimmer.
Also the movie established that humans killed her mother so having Eric kill another sentient being would have translated bad, also that would mean that humans killed Tritons wife AND sister.
If that makes sense
I love all this, Aisha is great. I wish I had seen The Little Mermaid in the theater, but life just got in the way (2023 been bugging), but I did see Barbie and I can't wait to see you do commentary on Barbie and if Aisha is there for that too, even better. That is a movie to have fun with friends.
i didn’t realize i was so early but also you’re exactly right, this remake SERVED and STUNTED on everybody
Try Watching One Peice if You want an Amazing Living Action Reimagining of A Show!!!
Remember how in encanto the triplets all had the same parents, but all 3 looked different? Similar concept i guess with the sisters
I read in another reaction that they're different because they were born into the sea they represent
I would've been fine with them race swapping the sisters if they explained that Triton was like Zeus and had "other fishes in his ocean". But them all coming from the same mother is 🐂 and makes no sense.
🏈🏈🏈🥧🥧🥧🏈🏈🏈🥧🥧🥧🏈🏈🏈🏈🥧🏈 0:15
Ariel is 18 in this movie. Maybe they did this bc for Eric's storyline they needed him to be 21 (he was 18 in the animated movie).
I hope the live streaming movie the return to the Sea movie 🎥💟😁
So good. Love this reaction! Have you seen Wheel of Time? The second season is about to come out I would love for you to react to that🤞🏽
I went to the theater with one of my best friends to see this movie and it was much better than I thought it would be. I do still prefer the original but this was definitely one of Disney’s better live action films and I did really enjoy it! Another fun video, Monica! Always love watching your videos. 💖❤️
Actually snow white is 14 and her prince is 31😬
целевой аудитории понравилось, ясно
I remembered someone said that Javier once said on an interview that the mother's womb are affected by magic, it's like the same with the scene from Tinkerbell's birth where multiple fairies presented an elements or objects to determine what type of fairy Tinkerbell is. I think it's the same with seven daughters of triton, not because he's busy being a hoe but because the seven daughters are destined to be a ruler of that specific ocean from the beginning. So I guess that explains why they are different ethnicities.
in fact it's not so much that Triton has been with a lot of women but we're talking about mermaid reproduction so we don't know how it works and it's certainly not like humans so why not😅

Have you seen RRR
According to the books, Guide to the Merfolk, and Against the Tide; all of them do indeed share the same mother. And Ursula was part of the reason why she is no longer with them, hence her exiled status. Their mother apparently had same skin tone and hair color as Ariel, and the tail and body of what seemed to be a mix of a anaconda and fins like a stingray or other ray.
you guys are the only reaction that understands the changes in the film like with scuttle and understand that eric doesnt remember her face cause it was blurry when he opened his eyes
