Thank you guys for watching!
Guess how much confused pa might feel
He slept then he woke up, sees raya being a grown up, then she says “ welcome to kumantra” like... he was trying to do that then he slept and woke up and everything was COMPLETE lol
I love this movie so much
It must be awkward to be honest.
Imagine you just thew the whole country a feast, get turned into stone, wake up and you have to throw another lmao
Let's go one step further.
Everything falls apart, your dreams are scattered, you and your daughter are about to die. (Which, it essentially was, keep in mind no one untransformed from statues until the end of the movie)
And in the last second you do your utmost to save your daughter, as life is stripped away from you in a cold embrace.
Than you wake up and everything is perfect, your daughter is even with you now and all your dreams have come true.
Shit, when I put it like that, sounds like he died and went to the afterlife >.> I'd be freaking the fuck out.
@@ApinofArc damn, thats actually an amazing point of view (i'd be freaked out aswell AHAH)
Speed run god
As an Indonesian, he flower off the boat scene was so nostalgic for me. When my Grandfather passed, we took a boat that looked exactly like that (with a motor though) and scattered his ashes through the river.
Also, idk what the hand circle is, never seen that type of greeting.
I’m thinking that it’s a fictional take for most hand greetings that we do in SEA countries
I think we can all agree that the fact that Raya and Naamari didn’t kiss was BEYOND unsatisfying
Keep that scene to yourself, that way you can imagine it anyway you want. Cheers!
Stay Safe Always my friend.
They only knew eachother for like 10 minutes when they were kids and the rest of the story even takes place 6 years later? Shouldn't you have to really know someone to kiss them? XD
Kissing might be a long shot but I was so mad that they didn’t AT LEAST hug (just the two of them) to show each other forgiveness
@@satewarco1977 True, but Namaari should have been the only one to seek for forgivenesss, I mean it was her's and her mother's fault if the world was in that shape 6 years later ;u;
Is it out on disney + yet
fun fact: Dep La (what Namaari and Raya call eachother) means “Beautiful” in Vietnamese
actually is just namaari
@Geboinzki 28 yep
And Ben turi
"Đẹp lạ", it's mean you so beautiful! :))
Dep la means Strangely Beautiful in Vietnamese but in Disney it means Bestie or like best friend
I watched it 3 times
Idk something about this movie just hits different, it makes my brain feel good 😭
Its the fruitiness that gets me tbh
SAME 😃😂
I watched it 13 times bc it is just so good but I hate some of the parts
RIGHT?? THE FLIRTING IS IMMACULATE
i loved this movie! it IS kinda predictable but so beautiful in so many ways. also you know if either raya or namaari were a guy they'd be romantically involved by the end. wish disney had the balls to actually come through with what they set up ;;
They never set anything up
I saw this movie and it was so so so so cute and I was crying
@@bubbleteabeatboxx they did
Or they could both be women and have a lesbian relationship. But disney probably don't have the balls to do that.
I had a bi panic when I saw Namaari
Lmao I had a gay panic XD
@@kaylajaimistockwell3744 me too
Wha- *dies again on floor*
"Are they flirting?"
Yes, the answer is always yes.

I cried three times when i watch it. I have watched every disney movie, and Raya definitely made it to my top 3
Ah that’s interesting, so many people disliked it. But I definitely enjoyed it for what it’s worth🥰

I cried to cried like a baby😭 movie 🎥 theater

I enjoyed it so much that I had a dream about it
And gurllll you ain't weak for crying. You just in touch with your emotions, which is dope 🥺😭❤️
Honestly the ending was just so wholesome and happy🥺
@@MonicaCatapusan people united despite their differences, ya love to see it 🥺
I agree.
Um I watch the movie and I have the toy of it
i didn't have tears in my eyes, even after sisu got shot, but I did have it when raya met her dad again :(
Yep that part gets me everytime.
Sisu getting shot got me when I saw it
As a Malaysian, I was pleasantly surprised by it. It made me very emotional in many points of the story. However, if I do have a bone to pick it would be that this isn’t the best representation of Southeast Asians. It feels like Disney just tried to mix us all up together and call it a day for diversity and it sucks because Southeast Asians have such varying cultures and our own interesting folklore. It would’ve been nicer to pick one specific folklore we have and run with that rather than giving us a hybrid princess. Even if they wanted to run with this idea, it could’ve been nice to have each the tribes represent each culture rather than having them mix everything together to the point I can’t even recognise which is from which culture. To me, it’s a good movie but it’s not something to be applauded for in terms of Southeast Asian representation. Disney could do a lot better if they wanted to
I think it’s a step forward in actually uniting the people of the SEA nations by having a hybrid princess, because you see, we are already divided in our own respective countries and by having a more specific one, it is possible that people are going to claim bits and pieces as theirs; dividing us even more. by having a hybrid princess like this, it makes us accept that we are actually similar in more ways than we actually think, hence I think that it teaches us to accept the similarities and differences across the SEA borders
I agree! Its actually my second favorite of the 3D princesses, just behind Rapunzel. That’s the only problem I have is it kinda felt Disney kinda grouped a bunch of South Asian countries to give them their “Disney princess” when you consider how different each of the nations are. Yes its fictional as it used to be a nation called Kumandra and it doesn’t exactly say if Raya is the head chief over the others or not, considering I think she became chief in the end. I do love the ending, I actually cried when the dragons returned! My only critique is the side characters didn’t really have different backstories aside all having loved ones taken from the drone/plaque.
Yeah, i saw a huge review of the asian representation in this movie and it seems lils they just mashed some stuff from every culture😬
I love how we all ship Raya and Namaari
Ikr
How could we not?? 😂

In my opinion I don't really like Naamari she never apologized and even gaslighted raya
So I finally got to watch Raya this Friday when it was available to everyone on Disney +! The first thing I did after was watched your reaction, I couldn’t wait to watch the movie and your vid lol!! I cried about 10 times throughout the movie especially at the end 😭 I loved your reaction as well, I cried again watching it with you 💗
Oh and why do I have a crush on the father 😍 lol
"Does she have a mom?"
Me: She's a Disney Princess Mom's never survive! (Minus Punzie, Moana, Mulan, Tiana, and Merida)
I'm a little bit bitter about that cuz I lost my mom young hah
Vanellope: "I don't even have a mom." Several princesses: "Neither do we!"
OOOUUU GIRLLL YOUR VOCALS WERE ON POINT WITH THE SONG FROM TANGLED👀👀👀
I cried when sisu was shot but stopped knowing she was probably coming back 💀
I was in shock, I refused to believe it😭
I was just confused on how she would come back
Me to!
in the most disney way possible, yes 😂
Same! I predicted that it wouldn't end with Sisu dying cause for me, Disney has never did it to any movie I watched.
Watched it twice; sobbed a total of 50 times; Naamari and Raya are married idc
*Happy Shipper Noises*
I- I THEY LEGIT LOOK LIKE A COUPLE THEY ARE MARRIED ISTG THEY FLIRT ALL THE TIME😭😭😭😭😭
Why. They are really good friends. Not married
@@anagirly9545 the voice actors played them both as if they were gay for eachother, (yes, this is confirmed, you can look it up.) Disney’s just too much of a coward to show any LGBTQ+ main character representation. They’re lesbians, get over it
Well now we have another one to ship Raya and Namaari let's goooo
"Never trust anyone that disney want to teach us". dang you got it

Haha lmao
The movie was great, although predictable, but it did have great dialogue, plot and comedy by Sisu herself. I'm happier that the fact that it's set in Eastern Asia, it's a topic of representation that doesn't get mich attention, especially in Western movies.
I was about to die when I saw sisu died
Like no one can understand my feeling in that time
But when I saw she is alive I was crying because of happiness
I love you

I love you sisu
@@kyliesbigworld4680 thank you friend
I have managed to watch the movie on time before your reaction yay! I did like the movie overall but I did feel like it just felt too easy to bring Sisu back at the start they could've at least shown us all the other failed attempts before that😂 but ngl the movie did make me cry at the end especially with the little boy how he got attached to Raya she was a real good role model! Your predictions were spot on most of the times before knowing what's gonna happen and I enjoy listening to your final verdict on the movie at the end when you link it with other Disney movies 💞💞🙌
Ayeee well done you😂❤️ Yeah that’s true, the pacing of this film a bit confusing in terms of storytelling but I guess with bringing Sisu back we already knew she would because it’s in the trailer so it would be wasted screen time. Literally it was the happy moments that made me the most emotional! Thanks boo, my Disney memory never fails😂🥰
@Monica Catapusan
Dang it!!

Pengu/big brother : rain
Jagan/brother : foggy
amba/sister : glow
Pranee/sister : shape shifting
Dude, you're so right with that "you're not safe if you are a parent in Disney movies.. That had me rolling when you said it, cause I've always said that.
Honestly the story was kinda bad and like u said ‘predictable’ but it really like getting close to all the characters and it really helped make the last scene more emotional.
For sure the overall story isn’t the best and very formulaic. But they still managed to make me cry so I can’t say it’s a bad film😭
@@MonicaCatapusan I know!
For me. The execution was actually pretty nice and Disney actually had me by end with Sisu

THIS MOVIE MADE ME CRY🥺😭I LOVE THIS MOVIE💙💜
I'M PLANNING TO BE RAYA FOR HALLOWEEN AND HAVE A TUK TUK AND SISU PLUSH, CAUSE THEY ARE THE CUTEST OF FRIENDS❤
Those are good description words. There were so many similarities between Raya and the last dragon and other movies that I almost knew the whole movie before I watched it! But it was still very exciting and thrilling, and I almost cried the part Raya saw her dad. I'm definitely watching that again (and crying again). Except I have one question; When Sisu was shot, why did she turn black (or perhaps into stone) before falling in the water?
Not sure but it could just be because the animators thought it should feel like a darker moment or something or because dragons maybe loose their color when they die?
Idk this is just my guesses
13:07 matches the scene when rapunzel was putting lotus on the lake on her birthday lol
I watch this movie last year I have a watch a long time this made me cry so much
9:50 Raya, put the stick down!!(I know its a sword, but the way she uses it here is hilarious)
A bit disappointed when I'm hearing people comparing this movie to Western-made shows like Avatar series, Moana, etc. as if all these elements and cultures started from those shows. As a Southeast Asian, I'm so happy and proud that this movie manage to draw inspiration from Asiatic literatures (especially epics), traditions, values, and cultures.
Hiya I feel like I should specify that the similarities I found between these movies had nothing to do with the cultural representation of any of them. It was the parallels in plot and story progression that I couldn’t help but point out. I also mentioned plot similarities to Black Panther, Frozen and Soul. As a Southeast Asian myself, I too am delighted at the Asian representation and visually very much enjoyed the film - as I say in my video.
I love her giggles
3:35 true😂 It's a curse to be a father of a Disney princess 😆
I was looking for this movie and now I finally found it and cool video!
For your viewing pleasure of our favorite pair of lesbians: "dep'la" is vietnamese and translated to "strangely beautiful". Just something to think on if you rewatch the movie.
When I rewatched it, knowing what "dep'la" means,"Does that mean they've been flirting between the movie?"
When I always whatch a movie i cry and i always rewatch it and i cry again and again
This is definitely my favorite disney movie...... SISU
YAS! Sisu has to be my favorite character in the movie

Tbh the mother did all of this (fangs mother leader) she told her daughter to be like that that’s how you be a mother by training you kids how you got taught, but if the mother said something different this probably would’ve never happened bc in the scene where the girl *forgot her name* was giving the gem, she prob would have never took out the bow and arrow thingy?
