      neither was given the opportunity to pursue their plans. poch was hamstrung financially while levy stroked his own ego with legacy projects, and mourinho was just never going to be given a real chance to win anything because, again, levy's ego depends entirely upon money being spent how he sees fit.

    Eric is a decent man, I thank him for his service.
    He might never have reached his full potential but was a good servant to the club.
    The same 'fans' that insult him are the same that cry and berate players that leave that they would prefer to stay.
    Modern football is a squad game, Spurs are unlikely to have a squad as deep as City. There is a place for players like Dier.
    Clearly not even used as cover this season,(understandably from my perspective), Eric never rocked the boat like most modern players do. Was great in training and around the camp all season. He spoke so highly of the club on his departure.
    He more class than the collective of these 'fans.'

      Honestly, not sure about him being a decent man based on how he showed himself in the public.
      Has to poop in the middle of a professional game, tried to pick up a fight with fans by climbing into them, blame other players when in fact it is him at fault for not being able to move fast to cover up. Unfollowing Tottenham IG when he found out that he won't be the captain.

      @@N_Ides I'm saying that your original comment is hyperbolic.
      He was also part of the squad that got to the Champion's League final and won a penalty shootout with England. Not trying to defend him dropping off, but at one point he was a good player playing at a high level, so he would certainly have a perspective on what it's like to play at the highest level.
      Sure he was never world class, but to use the previous few years to discount his work before that isn't the behaviour of a sensible or thoughtful person 🤷

      @@billybobthornton9668 I will lay it out for you logically. The purpose of this sport is to win every time on the pitch. If a player contributes to losing rather than winning, his presence is incongruent with the purpose of the sport. Thus his name is not synonymous with High Performance. Get it?

      @billybobthornton9668 Před 3 měsíci

      @@N_Ides Hahahaha, idk why Dier/my comment rustles your jimmies so much, but it's really really simple boss 😂
      If you're performing in the highest level of competition in your sport for years, then I think anyone (aside from you?) would class that as high performance 🤦 Your criticism seems to be that he's been playing badly towards the end of his career, which he undoubtedly has been by comparison to the earlier portion, but that doesn't disqualify his previous achievements and the insight he has regarding them.
      Presumably you think someone like Michael Owen doesn't have anything to contribute to this kind of podcast because he played badly for Stoke and United at the end of his career..?
      The point being, you're displaying what appears to be a close-minded attitude that is likely to cut you off from what could potentially be valuable insight, but if you want to sit on the sidelines and snipe then you're only hurting yourself in the long run, so it's no skin off my nose 🤷
