      not really. even the roads and side walks are mostly snow free. it's pretty different here in southern finland.

      I live in south-west Finland and it is still full winter here. Don't know how it is on the coast but here inland the winter is not about to end yet.

    Yeah, March is still winter month. At the end of April it should be more spring time.

    There is more snow in Kainuu than anywhere else in Finland, 106 centimeters at most. (almost 3 feet), in Helsinki area about 13 cm. The temperature for the next ten days in Kajaani will be between -10 at night (lowest) and +4 during the day time (highest). It will snow a little most days and at least one day it`ll be wet snow (räntää). Typical weather for this time of the year, I`d say.

    Celebrate tomorrow - it is the day when the whole globe gets 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night or the Equinox. In Finnish the term is Päiväntasaja, from *päivä* = day, and *tasaja* = leveller or equalizer. - Clouds might make it look a bit different, as well as the slant of the sunrays. But in Lapland the snow might stay in places until June. Count down to Midsummer now 21-23th of June. The locals will know at which date the sun will never go down, as it is north of the polar circle, by definition. Do enjoy the changing seasons. (We got a little snow today in south of Sweden, but we also have some spring flowers already.) You didn't injure yourself - did you? The last part of the video was only song.
    BTW when you learn Finnish, put your finger (or the point of your pen) under each letter and follow the rules of the alphabet and the spelling - your dyslexia will probably disappear in Finnish!
    If English was written like Finnish, then father would be spelled 'faadör' and mother would be 'madör' given that "th" is no sound in Finnish, so in Finnish accent it becomes d or t. Do give the Finnish alphabet its time. Only un-learning the English spelling is difficult if at all.
    In Finnish you will by and by have a great advantage from your being a fast learner - but look at the words as dogs, if the tail wags, you'll see what it means! 🙂The end of the word has a lot of meaning! If you learn the Finnish alphabet and the rules, you will know how to pronounce any written word in Finnish. Check pronunciation in google translate - using the audio symbol, you'll get normal speed (one click) and a bit slower speed (second click).
    Whether people use slang/dialect or standard Finnish, what they say is written regularly according to their pronunciation. Read exactly as it is written! Compare;
    Slang: Mä oon Hesast (I'm from Hesa) (Hesa being short for Helsinki).
    Standard: Olen Helsingistä (I am from Helsinki).
    Slang: Mun mutsi on ope (My mum is a teach)
    Standard: Äitini on opettaja (My mother is a teacher)
    Do learn standard Finnish, just add some often used phrases in your local dialect. All Finns understand standard Finnish, because all have been to school, and in serious writing standard Finnish is used. We also learn good standard English in Finnish schools, but by and by pick up some slang and dialect, when needed. Look forward to three months of summer vacation, and then study all winter (9 months!).
    All the best!

      Nah I’ll always love winter 🤣
      It’s actually great so beautiful
      I’m just confused as to why it’s back when it ended and things weren’t melted
      Only issues with winter is lack of activities but that’s just how cycles go
