    Janelle has some serious ingrained misogyny. From what she's shared in this video, particularly the detail about being sex trafficked for 10 years, she's likely experienced 10 years of emotional abuse, and has been manipulated and falsely "liberated" into these beliefs. It would be great to see her experience true genuine respect from inside and out, she's been so manipulated into this "thing" that she seems to feel is her only true self, fulfilling her worth the only way she knows how. Like wearing prison bars for a crown. There's so much more to life and identity than the confinements you're in, Janelle. I hope you find your way.

  • @ellaeilleen9159
    @ellaeilleen9159 Před 6 měsíci +268

    Okay I am literally only 3 minutes in and I needed to comment on this because it was infuriating to hear Torrie say that during a domestic dispute the men are automatically arrested. I am a victim of domestic abuse and a call was made one of the times this happened to me with my ex boyfriend. They DID NOT arrest him nor did they believe me because I was so in shock and was in the midst of a panic attack, even though bruises were visible all over my body. They chalked it down to mutual combat, and went on their way. This led me to believe that no one of authority would ever understand or hear me, or be there for me. Luckily I got away from that person, if you want to call him that. But other women ARE NOT as lucky, and I think any true crime cases where this is a dynamic can be found in most situations, as well as people’s stories, such as my own. Clearly she’s never gone through this. Lucky her.

      I'm sorry to hear that, I hope your doing well. But I think we should draw attention to the fact that the reason for something like this may be because of many women do actually lie about it, so it can really damage cases were the woman really was in harm's way (like in your case). By giving women that automatic priviledge and allowing them to lie, it can really harm innocent women when it actually happens to them - it was just handled stupidly from the beginning,

    It’s kind of funny to me that these women were all displaying typically masculine associated traits(being confident, out spoken, protective, a leader, etc..) and yet the way they so quickly dismissed the idea that masculine/feminine is determined person to person is just so funny to me. Also the complete frustration I had to endure listening to them go on and on about the female vs male mind was just… so closed minded not because these are not factors to consider but because they refused to see the diversity that is the human mind and even if a field is naturally dominated by one gender or another it should not be that your stance is to permanently exclude any of those who would have been able to helpfully contribute to those fields on the basis of prejudice. It’s so sad seeing how one track mind these anti-feminists are because they are living proof that there are women with something powerful to contribute to the world that isn’t just being a mother figure. Meaning that just because some people do struggle, doesn’t mean others can choose to have kids and not struggle. What she said if there’s 2 ppl in the relationship, there’s more chance of less struggle with being a parent. Just because some say they don’t want kids because they don’t wanna struggle, doesn’t mean there’s not ppl out there who want kids and will provide regardless of circumstances. It’s not being privileged if she had a plan in place, has someone who supports her and they both wanted this. What she saying is you could have this too if you really want it. The same way others are saying “just because u won’t struggle it doesn’t mean others won’t.” Same could be said vice versa and it’s all about how you view things and think.

    the women in the video make a lot of assumptions about men that are straight up false, but because their source is basically just societal expectations and not individuals, there’s no way to argue against it without extending the argument outside of the prompt and talking about the patriarchal structure of society.

    Wow, that was a big topic ! And very intresting thank you !! But It was aslo very difficult to watch and for other reasons than just having ideas being challenged ... It was hard to have people being so immersed in there point of view that they cut each other mid sentence. The mediator did a great job to have reminders of trying to have equal chances to express themself ! bBut I wonder if it could help to have a systematic input about non violent talking ahead of the video ( But maybe there 's already one off camera ), even a "talking stick" in the video as we call it were I'm from ( something that people will have to give too each other each time they want to speak so that the ony people speaking are to ones having this thing before giving it to the person having something to say ) or just a "safe word" for when they are being interut ? But, regardless of this, thank you for your work, all the great ideas and energie your speading with your videos !

      As if emotions are bad, part of being human, if you speak about emotions you are too emotional. And then men are seen as non emotional and logical, when so often men just arent in touch with their emotions or talk about them, causing them to actually act out very emotionally and impulsively because to control your own emotions, it helps to at least try understanding them!

      By "too emotional" they are implying "more likely to act without ration". I don't necessarily agree, but I think there is an uncomfortable truth here about gender differences that people are afraid to admit - which is: women are more neurotic on average. This is an actual psychological fact. And they cycle their emotions in many ways that keep them from being as objective as men can be.
