    Thank you so much for posting such an informative review of the Q5. I have been all over the internet trying to find something exactly like this before I buy the vehicle. Keep reviewing cars!!

    I had a 2012 TDI Touareg that VW bought back. So I'm looking for a replacement and the Q5 right now is at the top of my list. I really liked your review, mainly because you have owned it for 8 months and you know what you are talking about. Great review, very helpful, thanks,

      Thanks Kelvin. I had a 2004 Touareg in the past and loved it. I'm dissappointed to hear VW is going to discontinue the Touareg after this year! Having owned both I prefer the better agility, speed and gas mileage of the Q5 when you compare the two. The Touareg is more of a truck while the Q5 is more like a car. Good luck on your search!

    In September of last year I purchased a dark gray 2015 Audi Q5 3.0T (at the time at about 43k miles) under CPO. Not only was at a great value, but its been incredibly capable as we have a toddler in a carseat, and the SUV profile means comparable storage, but easier access to the cargo than the sedan that it replaced. I agree with you that it feels like a car to drive (and although the Q7's third row and extra space would have been useful -- it felt less like a car to drive, and a bit closer to a small van). All in all, it really does feel truly to special to drive around and the supercharged V6 is truly awesome. My 2015 model looks very similar to yours (it's S-Line as well), only differences is I don't have drive select, nor do I get the flat-bottom on the steering wheel or the sport seats ... but I do get the merge assist, back-up camera and sensors: which is actually a must for me. Anyhow, pardon the long take but just sharing my experience: I absolutely love the Q5, and being my first Audi: I am very impressed. I watched several of your videos on the Q5 (which actually were part of the encouragement for me buying the Q5 -- so yeah: thanks!)

      @@DrivenCompanion apparently the 3.0T is the *exact same engine* as what's in the SQ5, perhaps after the CPO warranty passes I might consider a tune, as the engine is clearly designed to exceed 300 HP. Plus, I tend to hold on cars for awhile and this could be a good one to stick with for a good long while.

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  Před 5 lety +1

      @@hilldynastyfitness3705 so i bought mine as a salvage title with an accident. I fixed it and been driving it for the last 7 months. I dont have any warranty on it and i dont plan on getting one. I have a family member that drives A6 with lots of miles on it and zero issues. These cars are reliable if you treat them right and dont do anything outrageous with them. I am pretty happy with my purchase and all my family/ friends who got to drive my car/ride in it are impressed. Its a huge jump for me compared to the RT Charger i had.
      I highly encourage you to test drive one, they drive incredibly well and i think its well worth the price! I am obviously bias here so take it with a grain of salt!

    Hello Mike, Rick from Colorado and own a 2002 Audi A6, 2.7T just turning over 230K miles and really considering a change to the Q5 to keep Quatro and still have a car like handling and power. Are you still happy with your purchase? Any expensive repairs yet? Do you wish you had that upgraded sound system? Are you happy with the upgrade to 20" rims? Do you also wish you had the 2.0 Turbo vs. the 3.0T (supercharged)?

    Bey yeah i have a friend of mine who just got a audi premium Q5 2013 used i think, the model that this video is showing, and she's worried about the repairs and cost on this vehicle with so many bells and all the functions on it. Just any tips of what would be the case of any of the feature buttons wearing out and most likely when?

  • @JayJoJonny
    @JayJoJonny Před 5 lety +2

    Mike C - I have the same exact vehicle. I concur with all you said here and will add that one exceptional feature I like about this model is the responsiveness at high speed when interstate driving. I live in Northern Va and drive to Richmond frequently. That stretch of Interstate 95 is rated as one of the top 5 most dangerous stretches of Interstate in the US. When I need to get past the 18 wheelers and trucks towing trailers, I've got the pedal to do that. I've been thinking about the 2014 SQ5 Supercharged w/354 HP. I would be curious to know if you have considered that as well?

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  Před 5 lety +1

      I would love an SQ5 but at the time I bought this they were too pricey. They've definitely come down a lot since then but I think my next Audi SUV may be an E-tron or a Q7 to get the 3rd row seat.

    Wondering your opinion… I’m in the market for a vehicle and I’m looking at 2013 VW Touareg tdi 230,000 Km and a 2014 Audi Q5 tdi 260,000 Km both equally priced. I seen you have reviewed both vehicles… I was wondering if you chose one over the other which would it be?

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  Před 2 lety +1

      Two very different vehicles even though they seems similar on the surface. I'd recommend driving both if you haven't. The Q5 has a much nicer drive and is smoother & sportier while the Touareg is more truck-like and will feel bigger to drive. I do think both options are among the nicest luxury SUVs you can buy...

      @JayJoJonny Před 5 lety +2

      I had the same issue when I first got mine and I've since learned that it seems to be a challenge to properly replace the oil pan drain plug after an oil change and it allows slow leakage. After chronic problems my Audi shop finally had to rethread with a bigger plug and the problem went away.
