Did you have to use your c clips from your old drive axles? Or did the ends to your original axle flange hold it in place and the drive axle spines slide in and hold?

To get the correct clearance from gear to pinion are there shims on each side of the carriage or how is that adjusted? Thanks in advance.

That is correct. You have to figure out the correct combination of shims on each side of the carrier. There are also shims on the pinion to adjust it's depth.

Are you happy with the auburn differential? Bought a axle for my camaro, with an auburn installed.

Thank you for this video. May I ask what ring and pinion ratio you went with as well as your diff selection? I need to rebuild the one in my 67 400.

I used the original 3.23 ring and pinion with a Auburn Pro Posi Differential 28 Spline 2.93-3.23

Nice! Did you end up using the same exact shims "left and right" that you pulled out of the original set up? Or new shims? Also what speciality tools are NEEDED? I can Google it, but figured I'd ask.
Thank you, and thank you for the video. Well done.

I had to use new shims the thickness changed on the new carrier. The only kinda special tools were the dial indicator and the dial torque wrench that went low enough to measure inch/pounds.
