It runs! Supercharged Olds 260 part 2.. On a budget! 4.3 Oldsmobile V8 M112 Eaton blower from Jaguar

- Conclusion... it makes at least 100 horsepower over a stock 260. It makes about 8 psi full throttle. It will ping and knock over 5 psi unless I add a bottle of high quality octane booster. It runs very smooth, and feels like a stock Olds 403 but has much better gas millage. It has stock exhaust manifolds that unite to a single exhaust pipe. Stock factory 260 cam. The engine has never been opened or rebuilt. Whoever had it before me took care of it and it still runs good. Unfortunately I did have to cut a hole in the hood to clear the air cleaner ducting (It is a second generation firebird). If this setup was installed in a larger car or truck, it would've probably cleared. The supercharger whine is significantly less audible with the long air duct installed. I do have another video about boost referencing the carburetor and distributor, and also the modifications I made to the jaguar supercharger to work on the engine on another video. And yet another video about fabricating a low profile distributor cap for the HEI distributor for clearance! Thanks for looking.
Nice as that will wake up that little 260
A way to get around the ping would be to rejet the carb for e85. Having 106 octane and the cooling effects of the ethanol will easily net you another 15 to 20 hp and get rid of ping.

Oh hell yes, there it is! Full noise is going to be epic! I have a tiny eaton m45 I use on my twincharged setup, the whine or scream more like it is addictive!

That is so cool. I have a 76 pontiac lemans sport coupe with the 260v8. Very reliable engine just barely enough power to get up to speed reasonably quickly.

This is one of the coolest things I‘ve ever seen! That supercharger whine is sweeet. How does it drive?
Today, I got the air filter installed, and so I was finally able to really drive it. It definitely has more power, and runs very smooth. It performs very well when the engine is still cool... however, when it is fully warmed up, I can hear pinging and knocking when I floor it. I still need to put a wide band air/fuel ratio gauge. I may need to richen the fuel metering at full throttle and adjust distributor timing, may need to run cooler spark plugs along with high octane fuel. But I am extremely satisfied with how it ran today. Very responsive and fun the drive 😁😄😁

@Chris Wiseman Ah yes, I had previously installed a knock sensor, but the ESC module went bad, so I will looking for another one on ebay for sure

Really nice brother, I was wanting to know how did you set your timing? Do you have an advanced curve kit? If so what Springs did you use? When does your full advance come in underboost? Thank you!
I set initial timing at 12 degrees and total timing at 32 degrees. I used the medium tension springs from a Mr. Gasket timing kit.

Awesome project!!! Love the Olds stuff myself. Where are you getting your vacuum for the distributor advance.Progressive ignitions makes a really nice HEI distributor that has no mechanical or vacuum advance, done all by electronics. It also uses a map sensor for boosted applications.

And Upgrade ur alternator to 250 amp helps stabilize power and upgrade ur electrical to O Guage helps alot with power and stability and durability

Do you have it straightened out yet? You could probably make 300 ponies with a few more parts and get it tuned right. Water/ Meth injection would fix alot of problems.
It's running good. Just have to add octane booster on top of the 91 octane pump gas to keep it from pinging. I still need to try to get it to a dyno... if I have to guess, it is making around 250hp

It's called a draw through carburetor setup. It's an Edelbrock AVS2 650, external boost referenced.
How Much Hp is that PUMPING out I love oldsmobile engines
It definitely makes more power that it did naturally aspirated. I still need to do some tuning.... but if all goes well, hopefully I can make it to the dyno

I would love to help out with my knowlege about engine to help you with power and make your endine last also use Royal purple oil on ur engine 20w50 best for every weather and add lucas oil additive alway to ur oil change and transmission royal purple oil and power steering royal purple makes ur mechanizms last Very long and powerfull keep compression strong and water less raidiator flue water creat rust that makes ur engine thermastat clog and mess up ur water pump
What would happend if you Holley sniper the 260 olds with a small cam 25hp with ur super charger I think 55hp and port the heads out 10 and use stainless steel springs 5hp and stainless steal rockets arms alluminum pulleys electric fans 12 hp and electric water pump 12hp, stainless steal flywheel made can it be stroked that would make even more power with long tube headers X pipe 15hp with duals (2 ) Racing edition Super 10 1 chamber mufflers 5hp lol with 373 rear end gears and a stainless steal drive shaft know that a monster 4.3 olds 260 rocket I would love to see that Done and dynoed stock they come with 110 hp and that was with 2 barrel carb lol.
Hahaha, all that sounds really good, but some of that is $$$$. I would like to port the heads some day, if the motor lasts. Headers would also definitely be a good idea along with a better cam.

Peolple alway get confused when they buy a car and then drive it home and then they igknowlege that when they heard and drove it it ran great but when i drove the car home it felt differnt power and idle its because if the air fuel mix ratio so Holley sniper are The Shizt
