Dud is awesome. Thank you for the informative video.
@@timothykret9001 thanks for tuning in 🤝
I truly agree this guy is sheer perfection in jaguar terminology and experience to detail
@@timothyjackson891 extremely kind words. Thanks for watching!
Great vid. Thx for this info. Very helpful to those of us prospective owners of a 5.0 SC. First I had heard of the solid coupler for the 5.0 possibly causing some vibration issues, so thx for that info.
Also love seeing the aluminum permanent fix coolant pipes. Question: no aluminum rear cross pipe option?
Thanks for watching. Yep! Put an OEM coupler in until someone proves an 'upgraded' one is working 100% correctly 👍
How us Jaguar owners over in the states wish we had some workmanship easily available here!
Well if it helps... You can send us your supercharger for work or we can prepare an exchange one.
We also ship our upgraded parts globally!

Thanks for the reply!! Will consider for sure!! ❤
This! Outside of the dealership there’s next to no one who’s worth a crap working on these things. Even few modifying them.
Enjoyed watching that. Very informative Dudley, definitely something for me to think about at a later date the supercharger maintenance and aluminium pipe changes. Hope you're well bud catch you later 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks 👍
Wow. Dispelling all the misinformation with clear explanation and cinematography. My V8 R is 2014 but has only covered 25000 (fully serviced) miles. I’m hoping to do some longer trips abroad when I retire but the Y pipe and supercharger coupling are a nagging worry in the back of my mind. You guys would definitely be a port of call before too long. I’m not sure I’d need anymore power though as my early car is RWD! However I do enjoy riding the wave of torque 😍.
Thanks for watching and thanks for your feedback.

what a great informative video dud mate, well done. i really enjoyed watching that mate :)
Thanks for watching Matt!
What type of gear oil and capacity for a 5.0 supercharged
Fantastic video content. Extremely easy to understand.
Thanks for watching Craig 🤟
As always I do enjoy watching your videos.. This video gave me 2 surprises one being the vibration on the nylon solid coupler and the aluminum water pipes on the very early 5.0's.. My car is a beautiful 2010 supersport so I'm I right in thinking my engine will also have the alloy cooling pipes?
Keep up the great entertaining videos.. ❤
P.s.
The pipes in between and underneath the supercharger.. Are they also alloy or plastic.. ?
@@stewarthumphreys8960 thanks for watching! If the top pipe visible from underneath the engine cover is aluminium then the connecting pipe that goes underneath the supercharger will also be aluminium.
However the little tube behind the water pump will probably be plastic from factory.
Hope this helps!

I presumed it was the cover you was implying.. I'm going over to see Arthur next month for a new update -remap :)
I need a little help…What is the correct sequence to reinstall the supercharger bolts and foot pounds
Great content as usual. What was the mileage on this car?
Thank you! 64k. 22secs in the vid see instrument cluster 🤟
Since you used a solid coupler would you still have needed to refurbish the shaft? My Fype needs this service sooner rather than later.
@@LGeezus_ a solid coupler will not wear the shaft 👍
I'd prefer to rectify any previous wear to the best possible.
@@wraptorcustoms Ahh makes sense excellent workmanship and a standard understood…thank you for clarifying
@@LGeezus_ thanks for watching 🤟
I have the supercharger off to do some coolant repairs. I don’t have a lot of experience, but I bought a new coupler. I have two questions.
1. As with limited experience, do you recommend me to take the back plate off and drain the oil and then fill it back up with 4oz of oil after it’s back together?
2. Isn’t there sealant required on the snout to the supercharger when after the coupler is replaced?
Thanks for any help…
@@JohnnyjayV if you have limited experience then maybe just undo the allen key wrench plug to drain and fill it.
The amount of oil it takes depends on what engine you have? 3.0 / 4.2 / 5.0 ?
Yes a very small amount of sealant between the snow and the supercharger itself.

Did you know if there is an aluminum option for the cross over pipe on the rear?
Yes there is. But I've only ever had ONE original plastic one fail. We look after countless 3.0 and 5.0 Supercharged vehicles in our workshop.
Far more Y-pieces failing.
Thank you!
Interesting that the older v8 had metal pipes. I have a 12 xkr built in sept 2011. It appears my SC V8 has metal pipe where your newly fitted v6 metal pipe now is. Now I’ve replaced 4 water pumps till a revised version around 2015-2016 finally stopped leaking but I’ve never had to replace a Y-pipe. Wonder if I lucked out with a 2011 built MY12 XKR? 🤔🤔
Just to be sure…Is the v8 your referring to the AJ133 5.0L Supercharged v8 circa 2010 XKR?
All XK should have the older style metal aluminium ones 👍
Thanks for watching
How about MY13-15 XKR and its RS, RS GT variants? Did those get the horrid 2 piece plastic pipes?
@@lothar52 I believe they should be already aluminium also, but a quick peep under the hood / engine cover will soon confirm 👍

I think I’ll be dropping you a message, I’ve got a slight knocking on my engine (5.0 SC XFR) so maybe it’s due some SC work, it’s a 2011 80k miles with full service history. I wasn’t thinking of an upgraded pulley but am now. How much is it roughly for the work carried out in this vid? I’d like any parts done whilst it’s off if practical
