Can you sell me all your info and setup with the jag supercharger, i have all the pieces supercharger, intercooler, tank, pump, small radiator. Adapter for supercharger, fuel injectors. How did you connect the stand alone ecu, how can i tube everything together or who would be able to get it done? Thanks in advance

After rebuilding the engine, adding a standalone ecu and the supercharger kit probably £8-£10K this was back in 2017 when I completed the build so could be more now. I completed the rebuild myself so it would be even more if outsourced. Hope this helps

Can you do a list what is needed to mount that thing on a m62b44 engine? I want that supercharger, but still unclear to me what is needed since it seems not to be a supercharger as i know it from todays cars and im planing ahead a project with an e46. Much appreciated if you could dm me concerning that matter!

if I could afford to keep it then I would of, the engine still ran great just time to move on. as you can imagine the V10 has cost a lot so I needed to put some money back in the bank 😭

Wait a minute...You had an non TU Eaton/Jaguar supercharged engine... And you're now replacing it with an M62 TU vanos engine ??
How ??....Everyone says its impossible, I have a V reg 1999 E39 540i with bad vanos problems and I wanted to fit an non TU M62 b44 from an earlier car (1997) and enjoy the instant cable throttle response of the non vanos engine instead of the crappy drive by wire throttle of the TU vanos engine where there is a 2 second lag from when you press the throttle to when the engine actually responds !!... Everyone says that you can't fit a non vanos engine to a vanos car and you can't fit a vanos TU engine to a non vanos car so how are you going to do this ??? Please share the secret ! ;) P.s, Your eaton supercharged E39 540i was boss, what a great shame you sold that engine, It was a cool car you had with that setup :)

this car was originally a TU engine, I blew the first one and then fitted a non vanos as it was better for boosting. I used a standalone ECU so got past any of the issues with electronics.
it could be done with an original ECU but a lot of wiring would be needed youd also need to change accelerator pedal etc. rad hoses are different too due to the later push fit style.
the drive by wire isn't slow it's just programmed to be that way for smooth driving, my non vanos engine was running the drive by wire throttle body and it was not slow.
thanks it means a lot I really do miss that engine and the supercharger whine too!

@@rodknockers2036 Hi Mate, Many thanks for your reply and for explaining everything so well.
Yes, The drive by wire can be better if the ECU is remapped, also adding a sprint booster can make the drive by wire throttle much more responsive.
My TU engined 540i Auto always felt like something was always holding back the power, especially if I go for the throttle quickly, I could depress the accelerator peddle all the way to the floor and there would be a 1-2 second lag/delay before the engine would actually rev up and respond, pressing the accelerator peddle slowly would improve the response a little but it still felt slow compared to my 1997 E39 535i auto which has the non vanos pre TU engine M62 B35.
In all honestly the 1997 E39 535i auto feels way more responsive ! and faster then my 1999 TU 540i ever did so I can only imagine how good a non vanos E39 540i must be with over a liter and 50 hp more than the 535 which has 232 hp compared to the 282hp of the non vanos 4.4 540.
The problem is my 1999 540i has a full spec with all the options and the jacking points and the under body is all good with NO rust anywhere, My 535i has a bit of sill rust and the right rare jacking point has collapsed from corrosion (common with the E39) So this is why I wanted to retro fit an older non vanos 4.4 M62 into my 540 and do away with the drive by wire throttle.
I guess like you said, it may be possible to run that engine from a standalone ECU or retro fit an older pre TU non vanos ECU from the same car that I get the engine out of (1996/97 e39 540 or e38 740) and do a lot of wiring as the TU cars have a different traction control system and a few other differences.
It has made me so hopeful to hear that your 540 was actually a TU car and you managed to swap in a non TU 4.4 and also supercharge it for good measures !! - Well done mate. Much respect to you man. 👍👍👍

    • @rodknockers2036
      @rodknockers2036  Před 4 lety +2

hi, there's custom adapters required to make it fit, they are available in the states. it's a jaguar supercharger modified to fit.
I ran it on an original engine and it killed the bores so this one was rebuilt with a bigger piston ring gap and lower compression
