Reccomend running seafoam through the vacuum lines and some in the oil, changing the fuel filter makes a difference too. Just seafoamed my 2 540i's, and it's made quiet a difference considering I change my oil every 3000k the oil came out looking diesal black and the engines runs silk smooth. There both the none vanos but I guarentee after 20 odd years there's some build up in those engines and the idle control valves clog up over time aswell as your vacuum lines. Only put shell 91 in both for the duration I've owned them and still had a bunch of carbon build up and sludge build up. Cheers great vid bud

You can remove the clutch fan. It’s unnecessary if the aux fan works properly. It’ll free up a few ponies and remove the exploding fan risk. I’ve had mine off for a while. Works great without it.

If it's like 30c outside, the car will start getting hot. It either needs an electric fan conversion, or to simply use the clutch fan. If you live in 20C weather sure, then you can drive with only the aux fan.

Have a Turner intake elbow with a diamond filter I just ordered the M60 intake manifold and the Turner Big bore 84 mm throttle body. You guys that are so worried about heat soak while idling for half a hour in a Parkin lot should focus more on the cfm that the air box can pull which I assure you is a much lower cfm number then a open clean cone filter... if your so concerned about heat soak maybe you should consider hood vents to let the heat escape... and your 50 hp loss is the biggest crock of bullshit I ever heard... owned 5 540is and they work way way better with the cone filter.... if your driving over 60 mph I really don’t think there is that much heat behind the headlight...

Nice conspiracy theories, do you also believe the world is flat? Youre correct sir motor mounts are expensive compared to tie downs. Im currently on my 5th honda civic so I'm an expert in car mods too, just like you. Haha yeah right, I have e60m5 e39m5 e30 s62 swap. I watched your video looking for sounds cus I gotta run single exhaust on the swap like a 540i. Now don't run off changing your intake to an airbox just cus I said so, check some dyno graphs first. If you Wana fix the heat soak problem you gotta get the inlet of the intake out of the engine bay and get an air intake temp sensor relocation kit from turner, your maf currently has the sensor and when the car sits hot it heatsoaks the sensor and you get what you get. Don't just take my word for it, I could be on meth, do your research so you don't end up putting another top 10 video with "rachet strap motor mounts" as a top tip. I'm right cus I said so lol. Spend 300 on a pedal booster but drills holes in the thermostat and runs a motor strap-on. 🍆

I won’t argue it still gets heat as the intake pipe practically sits on the rad... but I will argue a cone flows more and I’m usually driving 60 mph so heat soak isn’t a big concern I’m not a town driver
