I'm from South Africa and have owned a Glock 22 for over 15years now used it for carry and in combat pistol shooting matches and can honestly say it's my favorite pistol
Man please be careful I've heard in some areas of Africa it gets very rough
Respect from America! Stay safe and good luck brother. Those Austrians sure know how to make a handheld firearm lol
Great choice
Speer Gold Dot 180grain
I have a G22 Gen3 that was a Police trade in. It is older, but I love it! It is my bedside gun with Speer hollow points in it.
The LE trade in market is such a high value for Glock pistols. They’re shot little and carried a lot. Great value on a quality firearm!
@1Mannco dang that was a great deal I got my butt handed to for paying 400 for mine with only one mag and no ammo lol
I also bought a couple months ago in Calif a LE trade in G22 Gen 3. I held the G23 and with my big fingers and palm, it was ok, not the longest fingers. Then I saw the G22 on sale and it felt like butter!..It had the 3 dot night sights, not a scratch on it, opened it up looked flawless with a tungsten guide and spring. In the deal they threw in 100 rounds of ammo, 2 mags and a new looking used Glock case for $329. It shoots great. I also have it bedside with Speer HP in it.
I like that you can convert it to 9mm and Sig .357. Select a GLOCK conversion barrel from either Lone Wolf or from Storm Lake. Replace your 40 S&W magazines with 9mm factory magazines. Replace with a OEM Glock Trigger Housing w/Ejector and a G22 extractor with a GLOCK factory 9mm extractor (this step requires that you detail strip the slide of your GLOCK).
@1Mannco sounds like you are an expert in gunsmithing, I personally like the 40 s&w rounds but now that I now I can convert it into 9mm this gives me some options thanks for your knowledge on this, your awesome thanks
Glock 22 owner gen 3 since 2008 no complaints .
I inherited my father's LEO duty weapon.. Glock 22 Gen 2 40 S&W. It truly is a fine piece to shoot and I made it my EDC weapon in his honor. The spent shell casings every time go to the right about 3-5 ft.
The Glock 21 I shot had sent the shells back into my face a lot however the 22 made me a believer in the Glock world, I now own the 22,21,and now the 33 which personally is my favorite. And that's great to carry in memory of a loved one
People love to hate on any 40 caliber gun.i have 4 40 caliber guns I will never get rid of any of them
This made me a believer in Glocks for sure, I've seen so many youtubers myself talking trash on the .40 cal but I would put money on they own several themselves lol
I only wanted one gun in 40 but quickly found out that the full size I originally grabbed was just the start to an itch lol had to look for a compact to carry
@@AppalachianFirearms23 a lot of people don't own them which is the issue when they speak on how much the 40 "sucks" but they don't even shoot 40 enough to know it's capabilities. A full size in any major reliable platform kicks just a bit more than 9 but it's manageable and 40 kills just fine according to statistics. And I can always find it on the shelf available for purchase when everything else is all bought up from ammo scares
I just got a police trade in Glock 22 Gen 4 and love it.
This pistol made a believer out of me for sure
Same! I love this thing. And the gen4 has a beefed up frame so these things are built to last. I put like 100 rnds through it last range trip and I shot it alongside my mnp 40 full size first gen. The Glock trigger felt more responsive and I could group better with it immediately. I was pulling fast follow up shots at 7 yards and keeping everything inside an 8x8 target. There was a local police officer next to me shooting 9, at a closer target, slower shots and his groups were terrible 😔. Makes you wonder how often police do or don't train. Back to the g22. My new favorite gun I love it glad you enjoy yours as well
The gen 5 Glock 22 and 23’s feel better to shoot than the previous generations of 40’s. That’s because Glock beefed up the slides of their gen 5 .40s&w’s. The slides are slightly thicker and heavier on the gen 5 models, which make them such dreams to shoot.
They did that for gen 4 sir it didn't start in gen 5. All 40 cal Glocks in gen 4 are heavier rails
Gen five still better I don’t see what ur complaining about
@@ballsack8937 “Rails?” What are you talking about? The Gen 5 SLIDE is thicker than the Gen 4 and 3, in their .40s&w line. Period. Glock did NOT need up the SLIDE on their 40 calls until they came out with the Gen 5.
Google is your friend.
@@colt10mmsecurity68 k. They definitely made the rails and the slide thicker on gen 4-5 I'm sitting here holding a gen 3 22 and a gen 4 22 big fella. But ok whatever you say.
@@ballsack8937 Well, you’re hallucinating there buddy. In fact, I doubt you’re holding either one in your hands. From Glock’s own website, comparing the Glock 23 (.40s s&w) Gen 3, 4, and 5 (non MOS models):
Gen 3
Empty pistol Weight 21.16oz
Slide
Length 174mm
Width 25.5mm
Gen 4
Empty pistol Weight 21.34oz
Slide
Length 174mm
Width 25.5mm
Gen 5
Empty pistol weight 24.23oz
Slide
Length 174mm
Width 27.5mm
As you can see, the Gen 3 and 4 are pretty much 99.9% the same in overall weight. The only difference is 0.18oz (not even 1/5th of an ounce difference) and that’s attributed to the Gen 4’s DUAL-captured (and heavier) recoil springs with a metal shroud surrounding the lower half of the plastic guide rod. Whereas the Gen 3 has a more simplistic SINGLE-captured lighter weight spring, with an all plastic guide rod, without the metal shroud.
Second point kid and according to GLOCK INC. is that the slide of the Gen 3 and Gen 4 (.40 cal models) are EXACTLY the same length and width! (H’uh, imagine that, just what I told you a day ago!). So WTF are you L@@King at when you say you’re comparing both model Gen 3 and Gen 4 slides??? Airsoft versions????
Third point, the Gen 5 Glock 23 (and other .40 cal models) is the ONLY generation specifically built with a significantly HEAVIER slide and by nearly 3 whole ounces. Additionally, the gen5 slide is also EXACTLY 2 millimeters WIDER than both the Gen 3 and Gen 4 versions. (Again as a reminder for you, Glock’s own website states the Gen 3 and Gen 4 slides to be IDENTICAL in size of one another). For comparison, 2mm is like the size of the kidney stone you passed last month.
Class dismissed.
I just bought a glock 22 and this video got recommended to me.. they’re already watching me
This video makes me excited to get mine in!
You will love it
For me personally,
I prefer the Glock 22 over the Glock 17. It feels more balanced and the recoil isn't that much different than the 17.
Thanks for leaving a comment
How does the Glock 22 feel more balanced to you than the Glock 17?? They are exactly the same size 🤔
@@kevinrichardson8859 the weight IS different. Bigger bullets weight more.
Also, the Gen 5 Glock 22 is NOT the same as the 17. The slide width is totally different. Do more research before running of at the mouth.
I can notice a major recoil difference. The 22 is definitely a lot snappier
@@kevinrichardson8859the 22 is heavier with beefier rails and internals in some places to handle the pressure of shooting the 40snw
Gen 2 model 22 is my favorite pistol out of several I own.
It's a great pistol
Loved shooting Glock 22 .First Glock I ever tried and it was very easy to learn and handle.
That 40 caliber is great.
The glock 22 is what changed my opinion on Glocks in general, it was one of the best pistols I've ever shot thanks for leaving a comment
@@AppalachianFirearms23got one on the way....a 2005 supposedly never fired.
@@steverugerguy9606 I'm looking into getting the 43x Glock myself
@@AppalachianFirearms23 Did you actually buy a G22 for yourself?
@1Mannco yes I did the pistol I was using for the video I own now
Keep ‘em coming
Nothing aganist the G22,,but you would like the G31 even more
Glock,22,is,a,bad,boy
I agree
Keep it coming
Great video.
This video is very funny. I love it, and that gun is glock 22 40sw. I've got a glock, and it's a glock 21 45 auto, and I like that gun more than my 45 auto, and the video and editing is clean.
@outdoorcountry9666 thanks so much for leaving a comment and thank you for the correction
Best Glock
Yup. Love my g22 in .40SW. A real man stopping round, phenomenal capacity...whats not to like?
21 too big, really like the G30 though. Was thinking about a 22.
Recoil was actually pleasant and my hands are big anyway so this was comfortable
concealed carry mine every day. Sights arent the best but a guy gets used to them.
Oh I absolutely loved this
Grammy dont play
I just chopped the grip on my gen 3. Now I use model 23 mags.
Oh didn't know that could be done
@@AppalachianFirearms23 Lots off videos on 17 to 19 chop, same thing only .40 cal.
The first minute and 30 seconds is completely unintelligible. Couldn’t understand 95% of what was said in that weird skit. Just say’n.
It literally wasn't meant to make any sense lol but thanks for leaving a couple of comments 😅 and thank you for your knowledge the gen 5 really appreciate it
