  • Here's an over view of one of my LE trade in Generation 2 Glock 22s. I do some shooting with it, field strip & reassemble it, and discuss some pros and cons of the gun.

    Hello from 2023!
    I just picked up a Glock 22 from a pawn shop I deal with for $360 + tax. (They wanted 400 but i love to dicker.)
    I got a kick out of the counter person when i asked him to field strip it please. He fumbled around a bit before allowing me to demonstrate how easy it is. (I have a model 41.)
    I'm just getting into .40 cal and have a S&W model 410/411
    I looked to see if you had done a 22 review and sure enough you did two. I enjoyed them very much.

    Bought one brand new well over 15 years ago. Not sure how many rounds I have through it. Never had one issue, not a one. Not a single FTF, FTE, etc. I have only shot new ammunition, no reloads. It will eat any type of new ammunition. One fine handgun.

    I will say the laser max guide rod laser on my Glock 21 generation two is absolutely the best laser I have ever had it hits exactly where I point just amazing and my gun came with it looking like it was never fired for a mere $400

    Nice vid, I have a gen 2 hat I have carried for about the last 10 years and it is my favorite handgun. I love it and it has never failed me and I have put it through some stuff. I would recommend thus gun for anyone looking for a good gun at a good price.

    It really depends on your ejection pattern. If it's strong then I'd just leave it but of it's weak you may want to swap it out.

    I bought my gen 3 G22 back in January 2021 I put a stainless steel guide rod with a 20lb spring & aftermarket fully supported barrel though I had some feeding issues with that barrel so I polished up the feed ramp & now feeds flawlessly still a bit of an inconvenience but it was only $64.99 factory seconds.

    Well, all handguns are poor stoppers of 2 and 4 legged threats. That said, 9mm will do the job if you do yours with fast accurate follow up shots until the threat has ceased. That doesn't change regardless of caliber. 9/40/45 are very very similar in terms of results when using quality JHPs

  • @Harbisondude
    @Harbisondude Před 11 lety

    I'm not MGG, but I've got several trade ins. Frankly, replacing the recoil and trigger spring every 5k rounds is prudent and something an owner can do. Sending the pistol back is expensive (50ish bucks to ship). FWIW, I have never found a Police Department trade-in pistol with excessive internal ( internal! ) wear.

    +Mrgunsngear Channel Hi, so I just acquired a Glock 22 LE trade in. It's in pretty good condition just regular cosmetic wear however the rifling looks so worn compared to other Glocks I've owned. My question to you since you seem to be very knowledgeable on these particular firearms is, is it possible for a polygonal rifling to wear like that or does it just seem that way cause I know it's been used??? If you bought it in 2007 new there is a 0% chance it's a Gen4. I'd bet your recoil spring has a plastic guide rod and your gun doesn't have interchangeable backstraps--hence it's a Gen3.

    Sounds like you have what's commonly referred to as a "Gen 2.5." If it doesn't have a rail that's what it is.
