Oh i only have little mini pieces of moss on sticks too so mini jars for terrarium look or fairy. Not sure yet.. Making Christmas and Thank you Gifts 😀💗
Does it matter what grade type of glycerine or is it like vegetable or straight pure glycerine

I had it where it wasn’t dripping wet but I would get it as dry as possible so after cleaning it let it sit one to two days :)
Is this a process to make the preserve moss died which usually used for terrarium wall?
Yes I used this to make a moss wall :) I recommend adding green die to preserve the colour as I found the moss became yellow green after a few weeks!
I done preservation with just glycerin and water with color,but I noticed that in sun light its losing the colors,what to do ,that the color would stay?I want to do moss wall and in room there is daylight, the color will come off.Thank you for answer
Hi! I have found added dyes will help even paint to enhance the colour and make it stick

I cannot find the plant glycerin in lg bottles . Are they all the same? Plus when dyed how to protect from the dye from running if gets wet. Thanks 😊 🙏
I used the glycerin from bulk apothecary online :) it’s just vegetable glycerin I don’t think it matter to much past that! The die I have found doesn’t run once dried and then made wet again!

Many shutdown Facebook and other social media sites as we are either in Facebook jail or cannot post . Life has changed allot in past 5 years
I couldn't find denatured alcohol in my country, Iran
do you know if It's possible to use any other types of alcohol?
Mineral spirits or kerosine l think. Just ask google what can be substituted for denatured alcohol.

how long before they start losing the color? I noticed you did not use any pigments in the process
It took about 2 weeks before turning a yellow green, the moss didn’t loss the yellow pigment.
Any ideas why my moss got mold on it while it was drying? 😢
I would add more alcohol next time! And there might be to much moisture in the air where it wasn’t able to dry fully!

No, if the moss is alive there will be bugs but the process kills the germs as well so fully okay
@@plantifulpiper3288 I applied moss (a package from W*Mart) to my outdoor bird house. Is there a protective, rain proof spray out there that I can apply so that the moss doesn't fall off or get soaked/fade from rain and the sun?
You could try a spray clear coat to help protect it :)
The can of denatured alcohol I cannot find anywhere . Can you check the ingredient please thanks .
It looks like, ethyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, ethyl acetate and heptane. I found it at Walmart I don’t know if I mentioned that in the video :)
I saw someone microwave flowers to dry them. Would it work with Moss then hairspray?? Sorry didn't watch but beginning so far.. Didn't wanna forget to ask🥲❤️🥰🙏 Doing fun stuff now cause just got done with Allot of work with my husband having to do chemo and radiation🙏🩵 I Rub on his legs and back and feed him.. He did all the cooking and stuff and I would help. But radiation in your neck is the most painful and he can't eat! It's Been Dreadful Stress *My Poor Honey.. seems to be my new saying. Day before his B.Day.. He finished 6 weeks every day. I never saw before.. Him either. Thank God we Have Each Other!!! I was in a coma 3 yrs ago for 20 days from ear infection to my brain.. He was there Every SINGLE Day Ave I Was Awake!!! Yes.. We Thank God to Have Each Other🙏🤗🥰 IDK why I wrote all that in here.. Crafts. Anything and everything. I just made a moth display with dehydrated moss and am currently working on a huge oversized witch hat for halloween/fall that has light up mushrooms, moss, crystals all kinds of stuff
How long does it stay.
Will take more than 5 years?
It has been about a year and the mods has held its texture but the colour has faded so definitely add a better die and you should see it lasting!
Why do think is natured alcohol needed for the preservation of the moss?
It works as a dehydrant, meaning it removes and replaces the water in the cell tissue with alcohol!
I came here to find out if the Kleen Strip “FUEL” denatured alcohol was ok to use for this purpose. You’re using it so I assume it works! Thank you for the info! 😊
Yes it works! I would say add a dye to the moss as now a year later it has lost most of it colour!
I saw some people use preserved moss on plants as a topping. is it not dangerous for the plant with all those ingredients..? or when it's all dried up the risk is minimal? Glyceril is non-toxic as I understand. and alcohol in tiny dosages does not have an effect on plants, it's even used to clean them from pests some times. So I'm just thinking to do same but worrying I might kill my rare precious plants if I buy some of that moss. would greatly appreciate your insight on this if you have an opinioin! ;)
It will kill the plant! This process kills the moss and is just a preservation state

Hi, Can I preserve aquatic Moss ?
I’m not to sure if you can preserve it but I know if you wanting to store it you can put it just in a small container with some water or in an airtight container without the water but with a high humidity. And store it until ready to use.

There might be some preserving processing that needs a week! but I found that my moss didn’t need to be only had to be properly saturated!
