    • @The-Microverse
      @The-Microverse  Před 2 měsíci

      Ooooh!!! While I have not personally tried air filteration using moss, I do have some information that could prove usefull, I would start with the larger varieties like sphagnum, or haircap, I would go for a mix of haircap, pincushion (it withstands dryer conditions), if air circulation is going to be constant a fogger or misting system would be advised to regulate the humidity, aim for 70 to 80 % that way by time it gets through the ducts, it should be around 65%, this is super interesting and I would love to know how it turns out 😁

      😲 That sounds even better, and more functional than a fogger or mister, can do a hydroponic type system where the water runs through Leca or lava rock ( for water wicking and beneficial bacteria) Fern, string and hypnum moss would thrive in these conditions and then you can build up tuffts of haircap, pincushion or sphagnum on there 😁, I'm getting Hyped... oooh can add a vertical element and get a waterfall going!!! @The-Microverse  Před měsícem

      Being in a humid climate could actually be better as constant circulation would be needed and that would reduce the humidity by the time it cycles back into the vents, would need a bit of trial and error to perfect, but definitely doable 😁

      It is very exciting. i was scrolling thru videos about moss and saw I was commenting about turning a grass lawn into a moss lawn last year, but this year I finally decided to act. The front garden patch...half of it has naturally become moss...so i am trying to manually turn the other patch. It is takes in a few months, i will try to dig up patches in the back garden (which we turned into a veg garden). My parents are retired and in their 80s so a grass lawn is just too much effort. And it uses more water. so i think a moss lawn is more sustainable and it filters toxic particles in the air i believe. it's just an amazing pre-historic super plant@@The-Microverse

      Oooh these are excellent questions my fellow lifeform, the problem with a permawet bog like substrate is mold and slim both of which will out compete moss, however, aquatic moss that is a climated to grow immersed or partly in water can do great, espesially if the area has a waterfall, or waterflow, do keep in mind that terrestrial mosses do need the air humid, and best conditions are usually dryer substrate and higher ambient humidity, but then again there are 10s of thousands of species so i speak of the habd full i have experience with, fern moss, string moss, thread moss, badge moss...etc planning a comprehensive moss movie if you will where i go into great detail😁
