      @@onemandiy no problem. I bought a wall mount on clearance 8 years ago and just decided to put it together, and it's a pain in my ass

    Believe it or not, the engineers who designed and tested this product chose lag bolts for a reason. It's always interesting to see people who shoot from the hip that think they know better.

    Personally i think that your TV's still higher than standard height for a comfortable watching. You need to lower it to make sure while you're sitting, your eyes must be in the middle of TV

      Thank you for your comment! That's exactly what I was trying to do in the "Height and positioning section" by putting a sample picture on the wall and adjusting it until my eyes and neck felt in a perfect neutral position. The type of couch makes a difference, my old couch was more of a lounge type and this mounting was perfect. But I got a more modern upright couch and it probably be better at 4" lower :)

      @@onemandiy nah your height is perfect I have it the same height at first I thought it might be a feet too high but lower doesnt really look right on the wall

    Man if it was practical enough for me to put the TV on the floor in would be on the floor! I really don't understand people who put their TVs really high up.... surely when it comes to Quality sit down time the last thing one wants to do is strain one's neck!
    If you click on the red dragon you can see just how low I managed to get my TV

      Haha nice! I’ll check it out tonight. It all comes down to comfort! I don’t get why some people mount their TV way above their fireplaces. I did change my couch, which is much more upright and The TV could use a drop of about 6 inches but it’s not that noticeable.

      It's even worse on the ground, back pain and neck pain, that's dumb af lmao, in most sofas you can just rest your neck, I don't know how people aren't smart enough to rest their neck in the couch like you know he showed in the video.

    I have 43inch tv, what do you think is the ideal height to mount from bottom of the floor to the base of tv?

    • @onemandiy
      @onemandiy  Před 3 lety

      You can see how I did it at the 2:00min mark. I did it by taping a large price of paper/picture on the wall, and sitting in the viewing position. I adjusted the picture until it felt comfortable.
      So when it feels like your eyes and neck are in a natural position looking at the picture, mark the center of the paper on the wall. A 43in TV is about 22in tall… so the bottom of the tv should sit around 11 inches from your center mark. Good luck.

    Great video though still i am confused. For a LG 65 inches what you'd recommended? For me it feels right a stand of height 60cm minimum but its so annoying to see almost ALL the sellers to have only that kinda short height tv stands of 40 to 45 cm. I havent tried a such stand ever so it feels kinda weird to have your tv on a stand that has height of my coffee table..

    • @onemandiy
      @onemandiy  Před 2 lety +1

      At 60cm it’s kinda low I think. It’s good if you are in more of an upright position on a chair or couch. If it feels good however thats what works for you. If you find yourself tilting your head down(in uncomfortable manner) or straining your neck, I’d raise it.

      @@onemandiy I did the greedy thing to go for the 77inch size eventually so I don't now where I should place it regarding the height ☺️
      They will come for the installation next week but I have heard that a good point is if the middle of screen has 42 inches distance from the floor

      @onemandiy  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah, that sounds a little better, esp with a bigger TV! Enjoy!!’

  • @batvanio
    @batvanio Před 3 lety

    This is very relative. It depends on where you sit and how big it is. about 80-90 cm I think is good for a big TV. Can't put it on yourself? I would burst out laughing. Installation does not require more than 1 person at this size. I mounted my 42-inch monitor on the wall all by myself. It is very easy.

    • @onemandiy
      @onemandiy  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, I already go over all of that in the video. At 55in I recommend you get a helper or you’ll be pissed when you gauge your wall (like I did 😂) or drop it 😮. It’s awkward to hold! 😁
